Chapter 64 Northern Yong - Demon-Subduing Sword (XI) You little beast, so many...
Song Qingshu refused to hand over the Demon-Subduing Sword.
She looked at her with an unfamiliar gaze, icy and chilling. "I don't know what you're talking about. Get out of here before I get angry, and I'll pretend this never happened and won't tell anyone."
Shi Xianxue said with a smile, "Sister Qing Shu, I saw how you subdued the Chaos Pearl that day. The black skeleton that floated up behind you, wasn't that Zhu Ze's demonic bone?"
"So now you have to beg me not to reveal that you possess demonic bones. Putting the cart before the horse could cause big problems."
Her nonchalant demeanor was enough to make Song Qingshu turn pale, her teeth clenched so tightly that her lips trembled: "So that day, you clearly saw it, yet you lied to me. You lied to me time and time again, and now you're using this to threaten me."
"Don't put it so harshly. I was just borrowing it for a bit, it's not like I'm not going to give it back. Have you forgotten that Xiaoxue is a goddess? Would a goddess do anything to harm the common people?"
She patiently and skillfully tried to break down Song Qingshu's psychological defenses little by little.
"Actually, it's not just that day. I know you better than you think. In the illusion of the miasma demons in the Miasma Forest, I saw your past. Sect Leader Song has high hopes for you." "Not only that, he values the sect's reputation most. If he knew that his sect had produced a prodigy, I wonder if he would be so angry that he would vomit blood and die?"
"Sister Qing Shu, think about it. If your fellow disciples find out that the senior sister they respect is a great demon that everyone fears, can you bear the consequences?"
Song Qingshu's expression changed as expected. Her slender body tensed into an unnatural curve, and her face grew colder and colder.
Anger flashed in her cold eyes. "You're truly remarkable. It's as if I'm only really getting to know you today, or perhaps—"
Her voice suddenly dropped to a low crease, and she unexpectedly attacked Shi Xianxue with two fingers together.
"Something dirty has gotten onto Xiaoxue's body."
Shi Xianxue neither dodged nor avoided Song Qingshu's inspection, but faced it head-on.
A bluish-white light emanated from Song Qingshu's fingertips, and Shi Xianxue watched as her expression gradually turned to astonishment, her smile becoming even more smug.
"Sister Qing Shu, can you give me the Demon-Subduing Sword now?"
Shi Xianxue never expected that Song Qingshu would be so principled, actually unafraid of ruining her reputation, and resolutely and decisively rejecting her.
“You are a goddess. If you wanted to use the divine artifact, you could have told Fu Zhen and me directly. We would not have refused. But you insisted on using this method, which makes me think that what you are doing is outrageous and of no benefit to the common people.”
Song Qingshu quickly calmed down and bluntly said, "It also shows that you have a guilty conscience."
Shi Xianxue narrowed her eyes. For a moment, she thought about simply asking her brother to kill Song Qingshu, but if she wanted to complete the system's damned mission and see Shi Xianxue's mother as soon as possible, she couldn't bring herself to harm Song Qingshu.
Even if I am utterly disgraced and die, I will never joke about the lives of ordinary people.
"So you don't care about your mother's last wishes either?" Shi Xianxue pressed aggressively. "Your mother's tombstone stands alone on the back mountain of Misty Peak, with no one to worship or clean it. If your identity as the Demon Lord is exposed, I'm afraid those righteous people will dig up your grave and whip your corpse, making you die again, right?"
Seeing her face suddenly turn deathly pale, Shi Xianxue felt smug and was not afraid to tell her the use of the Demon-Subduing Sword: "Don't worry, I am a goddess, and a goddess naturally has to rid the world of evil."
“Wu Xiutang is not a good person. He knew from the beginning that you possessed the Demon Bone. His purpose was to take advantage of the chaos when you were repairing the seal to extract the Demon Bone from your body for his own use and stir up trouble.”
"You can't beat him, but I can."
"He likes me and has feelings for me."
"I'll kill him for you."
—
After a series of twists and turns, Zhou Zheyue was sent back to the Nine Heavens Immortal Mansion for treatment.
The Qingyun Sect and the Nine Heavens Immortal Mansion joined forces to escort the divine artifact to Mount No Return, repair the seal, and use the power of the artifact to suppress the demon race and return to the mortal realm.
Before leaving, Shi Xianxue saw Zhou Xun, who looked sickly, staring intently at her from the shadows under the corridor.
He was very different from when he was first seen. The left side of Zhou Xun's face was old and gray, while the right side clearly had feminine features, with a fair complexion, no beard, and charming eyes.
His gaze toward her was greedy and resentful, like a wolf that had been starving for a long time in the desert, wishing he could bite her neck off.
Although the two are father and daughter, and blood is thicker than water, Shi Xianxue never expected that he would be so great as to lend his own body to Zhou Xianghan so that she would have a chance to be reborn.
He will be swallowed up by Zhou Xianghan's consciousness, just as she did to Shi Xianxue.
She couldn't help but think of the father she had when she was Zhou Huaiyu, who was also Zhou Xun's great-grandfather.
He must have been very good to her, but so much time has passed that her memory has become somewhat hazy.
Later, she was forcibly separated from Zhou Huaiyu's body, and her spirit took more than four hundred years to finally take shape. After four hundred years, she finally returned to her body.
However, she lost her memory more than ten years ago and was called Shi Huaiyu.
Her nominal father's fear of her outweighed his love, which she used to find troubling and perplexing, but now she finds it laughable.
Love is the cheapest thing in the world.
So she curled her lips at Zhou Xun, revealing a provocative smile.
Zhou Xun's breathing quickened, and shadows flickered across his face, but he was stopped by Zhou Xiangzhu, who appeared halfway. The father and daughter whispered a few words to each other, and then he left with Zhou Xiangzhu.
Shi Xianxue chuckled softly, then turned and left.
She did not see the Zhou family father and daughter until she left Beiyong City.
---
Once the soul fusion reached its later stages, her headaches stopped.
That poor consciousness thought it had finished its mission and gone home, but it was unknowingly merged into the dream and completely plunged into darkness.
Most of the mainland is currently in winter, and they traveled south until they reached the territory of South Vietnam before finally seeing no more of the snow-covered landscape.
A crane soared across the sky. Shi Xianxue sat idly on a soft blanket, fiddling with a half-finished puzzle. Suddenly, she burst into laughter, as if struck by a sudden thought.
She lowered her gaze, and a bright green bamboo tube came into view. The bamboo tube was neatly and smoothly cut, and the deep red pomegranate juice looked like crushed red jade beads. Coral reflected in green water, it was extremely beautiful.
With a slight shift in her gaze, she couldn't help but focus her attention on the hand holding the bamboo tube.
With long, slender fingers and delicate bones, it complements the jade-like bamboo tube, like a piece of lustrous and translucent white jade.
She couldn't help but look upwards.
Xi Liang belongs to the Wushan God Clan. Even though the world has no gods and there are very few divine veins in their bodies, their appearances are still deeply inherited, and most of them are handsome. She is also a princess of Xi Liang, and the people in the palace are carefully selected before they can enter the palace. Even though she has seen countless beauties, she still can't help but be captivated by the young man in front of her.
Her hands were beautiful, her bones were beautiful, her eyes were beautiful, her nose was beautiful, and even her earlobes seemed to be more delicate than those of ordinary people.
It looks beautiful on its own, and it looks beautiful together.
She couldn't help but sigh inwardly.
Why did such a handsome face have to be born on such a lowly person?
Considering that she had just recovered from a serious illness, the crane flew slowly and steadily, following Song Qingshu and the others at a leisurely pace.
She glanced at the fresh pomegranate juice; it certainly looked appetizing.
That Shi Xianxue likes to drink these random, unknown things, but she doesn't like them and doesn't know if they're clean or not.
So she lifted his hand up and brought it to his lips, half-jokingly saying, "In the palace, someone has to test the food for poison before eating. I am a princess, Little Eunuch Wu, you taste it first."
"Eunuch?" Wu Xiutang searched his mind for the term, and after matching it with a certain image, he withdrew his hand unhappily. His brows furrowed, as if he had remembered something unpleasant. "I am not a eunuch."
Wu Xiutang avoided the flower stem and took a sip from the edge of the bamboo tube, repeating, "I'm not a eunuch. I have everything I need, and I can learn what I don't know."
His lips were already vibrant, but now they were coated with a glossy, watery sheen, making one's heart flutter and itch. When he made a wronged expression, it was simply irresistible.
She could no longer resist, leaned forward, took his arm, and kissed him.
But his lips only lightly brushed against Wu Xiutang's chin. Shi Xianxue was stunned for a moment, straightened her back and chased after him, but just as she was about to touch him, the boy who had been taking such good care of her these past two days suddenly flipped her over.
The speed and force were so great that Shi Xianxue almost fell directly down.
Pomegranate juice was spilled on the white feather cushion, leaving large, blood-like stains.
After struggling to grab the crane's wings to steady herself, she looked at Wu Xiutang in disbelief.
Wu Xiutang also froze on the spot, his eyes flashing with astonishment.
No one craved Shi Xianxue's touch and kisses more than him. Whenever he was close to her, his mind would be in a state of extreme excitement, and his body would tremble with excitement.
However, now, his body seemed to be out of control, and when she wanted to get close to him, he reflexively avoided her without thinking.
Even when she relentlessly pursued him, a strong sense of disgust and revulsion inexplicably welled up within him.
Neither of them spoke for a moment, and an eerie silence fell over the air.
Just as Shi Huaiyu was about to strike first, Wu Xiutang slowly turned his head.
Beneath his long lashes, his deep eyes swirled with dark ink, his face expressionless, his lips drawn straight and cold, and his gaze toward her held a hidden meaning.
Even without the Parasite Curse, he would never feel disgusted by Shi Xianxue's touch.
Memories flashed through my mind, returning to the snow-capped mountain peak a few days prior, to that unfamiliar gaze.
Wu Xiutang's gaze deepened.
When Shi Huaiyu met his dark gaze, her heart skipped a beat.
She had seen this expression in Shi Xianxue's memory recall; he was clearly suspicious of her identity.
But this is impossible. Even if Shi Yun and her husband stood in front of her, they would not find any clues, because she and Shi Xianxue are essentially the same person. Their aura and soul are the same. Even though they have been separated for four hundred years and have some differences in personality, her brother has added Shi Xianxue's memories into his own spiritual palace. She doesn't need to imitate them at all. Many small actions and habits will be shown in her expression.
She is Shi Xianxue.
The boy's eyes were like torches, as if they could see through the secrets in people's hearts. They were so sharp and piercing that they made people's scalps tingle. Yet, just a second ago, he was talking to you in a coquettish way.
In that instant, he looked at her as if she were his enemy.
The contrast was so stark that it gave her the creeps.
But she absolutely cannot be discovered now. She hasn't obtained the Demon-Subduing Sword yet, and the Twin Flowers haven't fully bloomed. Although the Parasitic Curse prevents Wu Xiutang from attacking her, if she alerts him, she will no longer be able to complete her mission.
Just as she was feeling anxious and her heart was pounding, the expression on the man's face changed. He returned to his usual look, with eyes full of her, and even apologized to her, replacing her old cushion with a beautiful, colorful feather one.
He smiled at her, his features softening even more amidst the misty clouds. "I'm sorry, I got too excited. Are you alright?"
Shi Huaiyu sensed something was wrong. Naturally, she was afraid of saying too much and making a mistake, but remaining silent at this moment would make her seem guilty and suspicious. So she glared at Wu Xiutang and said in her usual tone, "Wu Xiutang, do you despise me? We're not even married yet, and you're already starting to get tired of me? Men really are all heartless pigs."
"Don't be angry," he coaxed softly, removing and replacing the cushion beneath her without touching her at all. "How could I possibly be annoyed with you? You know perfectly well that I love you to bits."
Shi Huaiyu's heart was pounding like a drum, but he didn't show it on his face.
"I have indeed been a bit carried away these past few days, but now that I've calmed down, I realize that I've been overlooking a problem all along."
Shi Huaiyu's heart pounded like a drum, her nails dug into her soft flesh, but her face remained calm and composed: "What?"
Wu Xiutang lowered his eyelashes and looked at his palm, letting out a soft scoff. He shook his head and simply whispered, "It's nothing, it's insignificant. By the way, remember to keep the Spirit Pearl I gave you with you at all times."
The tone was the same as before.
Shi Huaiyu breathed a sigh of relief without making it obvious.
That day, he put the torn half of his soul into a glass bead, the Suihou Pearl, which was priceless and emitted a pale golden glow when night fell.
She took it out from her hidden sleeve.
"I brought it with me, but I haven't figured out what I need yet."
The boy responded, took the red string, and put it around her neck.
His fingers inadvertently brushed against the skin on the back of Shi Huaiyu's neck, bringing a chilling warmth.
"You know how much I like you, right?"
The boy's sudden confession stunned her for a moment, and then when she met his burning gaze, Shi Huaiyu couldn't help but feel a chill run down her spine.
Because she heard the boy say that.
"I would be very sad if I accidentally died."
These words sounded like a threat, but the boy's tone was gentle, and his peach blossom eyes curved into a nonchalant, lazy arc, as gentle and alluring as spring water.
But Shi Huaiyu was still unable to eat or sleep properly.
Wu Xiutang is different from Song Qingshu. Song Qingshu comes from a prestigious family and has something on her hands, so even if she discovers something is wrong, she can't do anything to her.
But Wu Xiutang is a complete madwoman. She explores Shi Xianxue's memories and also sees Wu Xiutang's dirty and unbearable past.
It's precisely because I know him so well that I'm even more afraid of being discovered by him.
But she was extremely puzzled. He couldn't help but be attracted to Shi Xianxue, and he clearly longed for her so much. She and Shi Xianxue were clearly one person, a part of Zhou Huaiyu's soul that had been separated. Why could he reject her and push her away?
During those few days in Beiyong City, it was the early stage of her fusion with the spirit, and Shi Xianxue's consciousness still occupied most of it. In those few days, she almost completely swallowed Shi Xianxue.
Could it be that she integrated too quickly and got too close to him, which led him to discover something was amiss?
But that doesn't make any sense at all.
Even if it's Shi Yun, even if it's Kong Sang, as long as she's willing, no one can tell that she's different from before. It's true that Wu Xiutang and I have a parasitic curse, but how could he possibly discover the difference between us in such a short time?
She touched the spirit pearl on her chest and felt that several more twin flowers had bloomed in her spiritual palace, which gradually calmed her down.
It doesn't matter if they find out, my brother is nearby, he can't escape no matter what.
The group stopped to rest at an inn in Jiuyi City. The same waiter greeted them, bowing and scraping as he came to greet them. Halfway there, he seemed to recognize them.
His gaze fell directly on Wu Xiutang's face at the back of the crowd. When Wu Xiutang looked over, Wu Xiutang suddenly felt a pain in his lower body, shuddered, covered his groin, and ran to call the shopkeeper.
Nowadays, Jiuyi City is shrouded in clouds, and there are more demons than before. The once bustling market is gone, and the inns are now filled with cultivators from unknown sects who want to take advantage of any opportunities.
Wu Xiutang still stayed in the room in the very corner.
Inside the room, Wu Ying shook her head at him.
“Master, Wu Ying did not smell any other spirits.”
Wu Xiutang lowered his eyelashes and looked at the star compass in his hand. The pointer, which was flowing with the power of stars, stopped as he expected.
He put it away expressionlessly. "Of course you can't smell it."
A pool of green, pus-like substance seeped in through the window crack and formed a small wooden figure.
It was a miasma demon that had traveled a long way back from Beiyong.
“Master, I went back to Beiyong City to investigate Zhou Xun’s memories, but Zhou Xianghan has devoured 70% of his consciousness. I didn’t find much useful information. However, I did find a secret chamber in Zhou Xun’s room. After entering, I found a large number of books that recorded the secrets of the Zhou family. In fact, one of them recorded the deeds of Zhou Cheng’an and Shi Yun, the founders of Beiyong City, in resisting the invasion of the demons. The contents of the book are different from the ones that have been passed down.”
"The case file says that Shi Yun did give birth to a baby girl named Zhou Huaiyu. However, she did not die at birth but lived to the age of fourteen. She had the bloodline of Wushan and was the previous goddess. At that time, the demons launched a large-scale attack to capture her. After slaughtering the entire city lord's mansion, Shi Yun died, but Zhou Huaiyu's body was not even found. Therefore, the descendants of the Zhou family assumed that she was dead."
Wu Ying sighed, "So, it's very likely that Zhou Huaiyu was rescued back then, and somehow ended up impersonating her to become the current princess of Xiliang, Shi Huaiyu?"
"It's very likely, so Shi Xianxue should be her alias in the common people. Thinking about it this way, Shi Huaiyu and Zhou Huaiyu are the same person. Perhaps she lost her memories and was awakened by chance in Beiyong."
one person?
Wu Xiutang stared at the nebula-like flowing patterns on the star chart and chuckled, his expression ambiguous.
-
Repairing the seal was urgent, and the next day the group took the artifact and entered the Misty Forest.
Because of the previous experience, the first half went relatively smoothly, but the closer they got to Mount No Return, the thicker the fog became, and the slower their progress became.
The Demon-Subduing Sword was currently in his sleeve. Shi Huaiyu sensed the twin flowers in his spiritual palace, but they were still not in their best condition. Oh well, this person is too perceptive. If he delays any longer, things may change.
So she shifted her body and disappeared into the thick fog.
While others had poor visibility in the thick fog, Wu Xiutang, with his miasma demon, saw through Shi Huaiyu's every move.
He only followed her leisurely a moment after she disappeared from sight.
After the two disappeared into the mist, Song Qingshu turned around and looked in the direction where they had disappeared.
Qi Yun Chu suddenly screamed from the crowd.
"Where is the Demon-Subduing Sword? Where did it go?"
"What! The Demon-Subduing Sword is gone!"
"The goddess and Young Master Wu have disappeared too!!! Ahhh, how terrifying!!"
"There are actually demonic creatures with such cultivation levels in this forest, capable of silently abducting both divine artifacts and people. But why are only the Goddess and Young Master Wu missing?"
After these words were spoken, the room quieted down a bit, and finally someone mustered up the courage to raise a question.
“I’ve long suspected that Wu Xiutang’s origins are unclear. Perhaps he is a spy sent by the Demon Clan, and he’s been waiting for this moment.”
Qi Yun Chu: "I felt it was wrong not to say it sooner. What's the use of saying it now? It's just hindsight."
"You... isn't the Demon-Subduing Sword under the protection of your Qingyun Sect? Perhaps your Qingyun Sect is colluding with Wu Xiutang from the inside."
The more they talked, the more outrageous it became, so Li Fuchao stopped them, saying, "Alright, let's find someone first."
He took Song Qingshu's hand and said, "We've been together all this way. I have something to tell you."
When Wu Xiutang found Shi Huaiyu, she was unconscious, pinned down by a white figure. The figure was shrunken, like a corpse whose life force had been drained, and its skin was slowly peeling off, trying to crawl into Shi Huaiyu's body.
A fiery wind blade sliced through the mist, and Zhou Xianghan felt a wave of heat rush towards her as the right half of her face was sliced off.
Annoyed at being interrupted, Zhou Xianghan jumped off Shi Huaiyu. She landed on all fours, her scarlet eyes no longer resembling those of an ordinary person.
She followed the miasma demon back, having already set her sights on Shi Xianxue's body.
"It's you again! Why do you always ruin my plans? The seductive spell within you hasn't been lifted yet, has it? As long as you don't stop me, I'll lift it for you after I possess Shi Xianxue's body. Don't you like her face? I can even serve you and please you to the extreme. This woman is so unruly, I..."
Before she could even finish speaking, she was sent flying by a powerful force. Her right cheek sagged, revealing red, thread-like flesh. Zhou Xianghan stared at him with intense resentment.
"Men, they always like to say high-sounding things, constantly professing their love for her, yet they have no idea that she's already..."
"Monster!" Fu Zhen appeared behind Wu Xiutang with a group of disciples from the Nine Heavens Immortal Mansion, interrupting her in time. "We spared you out of respect for City Lord Zhou, but we didn't expect you to dare to lay a hand on the Goddess."
Several people got into a fight with Zhou Xianghan.
Wu Xiutang looked around to make sure no one else was joining in, then raised his finger and drew a protective barrier. He helped the unconscious Shi Huaiyu up and patted her cheek, saying, "Wake up."
Shi Huaiyu showed no reaction and his face was pale.
He handed her over to Wu Ying, looked at the few people entangled in the fight, and suddenly flew into the center of the battle. Fu Zhen and the others were about to breathe a sigh of relief when they saw him come to help, but unexpectedly, the palm wind that Wu Xiutang was about to strike Zhou Xianghan suddenly turned around and struck Fu Zhen head-on.
Fu Zhen's expression hardened, and he instinctively made a move to fight back. But the moment their palms touched, Fu Zhen suddenly turned into a wisp of black mist and vanished.
The people who were fighting with Zhou Xianghan also disappeared.
The surroundings instantly became quiet; the wind died down, the trees stopped, and the clouds and mist vanished completely.
Wu Xiutang stared intently at a spot in the woods and suddenly spoke: "You've followed us all the way without showing yourself, Master. You're still the same as before, always hiding like a mouse."
A whirlwind arose from the ground, crushing withered branches under the black boots, and a slender, upright figure emerged from the shadows.
He wore a brownish-brown beast-head mask, revealing only his excessively pale chin. He stopped a few steps away from Wu Xiutang, seemingly sizing him up, a mocking laugh escaping his throat.
"You little beast, after all these years, you still haven't learned to respect your teachers."
The voice that had tormented him like a nightmare ten years ago finally appeared before him again.
If there's anything in this world that excites him, besides Shi Xianxue, it's being able to kill this man again.
Wu Xiutang felt his heart race as he thought about it, and the corners of his mouth widened, his smile becoming even more radiant: "You don't deserve it. The fire back then didn't burn you to death, but today is just right. I've used my soul to refine a new fire, and I'll use it all to pay tribute to my master."
The man remained neither angry nor flustered, and not a sliver of moonlight penetrated the misty forest.
Zhou Xianghan didn't know what was happening, but there was a barrier all around her, so she couldn't get out at all. Apart from Shi Xianxue, everyone else present had a higher cultivation level than her. She pitifully lay on the ground pretending to be invisible.
"My good disciple, you've done too many things that betray your master and ancestors, and you'll be punished for it." He knew Wu Xiutang's sensitive and suspicious nature best, but he still praised him without reservation. "However, you have really improved a lot. You knew I was still alive, yet you were able to hold back. Did you know all along that I would make a move against you today?"
Wu Xiutang sneered: "Master, I am always preparing to destroy you again."
Looking at Wu Xiutang's face, the man suddenly felt a sense of disgust for his fearless and arrogant demeanor.
He glanced at the unconscious Shi Huaiyu and deliberately taunted him, "I heard you're getting married, but is she really willing to marry you? How can someone like you be worthy of the goddess's love?"
As expected of his master, he always knows what he cares about and what words will provoke him.
Wu Xiutang quickly suppressed his smile, stopped talking nonsense, and a cluster of white-gold flames ignited in his palm.
--
Shi Xianxue has been very happy these past few days. Her mother's condition has taken a turn for the better. Dr. Xu said that their hospital has invited a neurology expert from the top hospital in Germany to consult on her mother's case.
She had managed to raise the money for her mother's medical expenses a few days ago, but she couldn't quite remember how she got the money.
However, nothing else matters as long as it can save my mother's life.
The surgery was successful, and my mother recovered well. However, she has been troubled these past few days because the Ukrainian doctor from Germany keeps staring at her with a very presumptuous look. He is wearing a white coat and a mask, only revealing his sharp black eyes.
Staring directly at her made her feel like a piece of pork nailed to a chopping board.
Finally, when she couldn't help but complain to her mother, her mother asked in surprise, "Which Dr. Wu?"
"It's the one who treated my mother, the one who came back from studying in Germany."
Her mother tapped her forehead. "I think you've been too tired these past few days. It was Dr. Xu who treated me from beginning to end, and he even paid for the medical expenses. Where did this Dr. Wu come from?"
Shi Xianxue was stunned. Just as she was about to say something, the scene in front of her suddenly changed. She was standing at the door and saw her mother talking to Dr. Xu. After a while, her mother came out with red eyes. She followed her like a ghost and found that her mother had opened the door to the private ward.
The girl in the hospital bed turned around at the sound and softly called, "Mom." She looked behind her, puzzled, and asked, "Mom, who's behind you? Has someone come to see me?"
The moment their eyes met, Shi Xianxue's brain went completely blank.
The cards were dealt out of order again. She felt dizzy and lightheaded, and a tearing pain assaulted her senses.
Shi Xianxue's head was throbbing with pain, and she squatted down in agony.
She could feel something trying to devour her, and she was powerless to resist.
Just then, a ball of golden-red light enveloped her, and Shi Xianxue regained some clarity, hearing her mother's voice in her ears.
"You don't know how to use good things, so I have to do it. It's a disgrace to our goddess clan."
As soon as she finished speaking, the tree heart was reintegrated into Shi Xianxue's soul.
The barrier of the Misty Forest was in complete disarray; the ground had been split open, revealing charred black earth, tree branches had been severed by sharp objects, and signs of fighting were everywhere.
Both men were injured to varying degrees, but the man was clearly more seriously injured. He spat out blood, and his right arm had been burned by the fire, leaving a deep hole that exposed the bone.
The platinum-gold flame in Wu Xiutang's palm burned even brighter. His gaze was wicked, and he seemed quite interested. "Master, do you like the gift your disciple gave you?"
The fire in his palm was slowly pushed forward.
"This time, I will burn your soul to pieces, leaving you with no chance of ever recovering."
"Is that so?" The man was so badly beaten that he couldn't even stand up. He knelt on the ground, but showed no sign of panic. Instead, he raised the corners of his lips and looked behind him. "Shi Huaiyu, why don't you do it now!"
Almost the instant the man finished speaking, a sharp whooshing sound suddenly came from behind him. He reacted quickly and dodged to deal with it, but a sudden tightening force in his chest felt like a chain binding his beating heart.
Instantly, the flame in his palm went out, and the blood in his entire body seemed to freeze, rendering him completely immobile.
The Demon-Subduing Sword pierced through his flesh, tearing through his body. Blood gushed out from the hilt, forming a trail of droplets that fell downwards.
Shi Huaiyu drew his sword expressionlessly, but his right pupil trembled with fear.
Her left eye was utterly indifferent, as if she were looking at a complete stranger, while her right eye was filled with struggle, resistance, and utter terror.
However, in the end, Zuo Tong gained the upper hand. As she raised the Demon-Subduing Sword again to stab her chest, Wu Xiutang grabbed the sharp blade with his bare hands.
The man not far away narrowed his eyes. It was the same again. He had lost so many souls and was stabbed by the Demon-Subduing Sword, yet he was still able to break through the shackles of the Parasitic Curse.
He always likes to surprise him like this.
However, instead of pushing the sword away immediately, Wu Xiutang struggled to raise his other hand, which was barely mobile, and crushed the spirit bead on Shi Huaiyu's chest.
These two movements seemed to have exhausted all his strength. Blood flowed down his body in a rushing torrent, and because he had so many wounds, it was impossible to tell where the blood was coming from.
He was completely covered in blood, and the moment his arms drooped helplessly due to the backlash of the parasitic curse, the Demon-Subduing Sword pierced his heart without hesitation.
The spirit emitted specks of golden light, and Shi Xianxue blinked, finally gaining a brief ability to seize control of her body.
After realizing what she had done, she cried out in disbelief.
"Wu Xiutang!"
