Chapter 132 Revenge, Life for Life

Xia Jingming was so frightened that he fell to the ground.

The Xia family's security guards rushed in with stun batons.

But none of them dared to approach Bai Ning, who was armed.

Bai Ning smiled coldly, "Long time no see, Uncle."

“Uncle? Uncle?” Xia Jingming murmured the title, then his pupils suddenly dilated. “You are Xia Qingzhi.”

"Yes, it's me."

This time, not only Xia Jingming, but even Lin Yusheng was shocked.

Bai Ning's figure gradually overlapped with that of her childhood playmates.

"She is Qingzhi."

Shen Yishu finally came to her senses, "It's her, she's still alive, but..."

But she was no longer the timid child she once was; she was now ruthless enough to kill without batting an eye.

Lin Yusheng bit her lip, recalling the moments she shared with Bai Ning and Xia Qingzhi from their childhood. Her eyes welled up with tears. "She must have had her reasons."

"I know, but murder is illegal. What will she do after that?"

Bai Ning also caught a glimpse of Lin Yusheng and Shen Yishu out of the corner of her eye. She was slightly taken aback, not expecting them to still be there.

Xia Jingming's voice trembled, "Zhizhi, what are you trying to do?"

"Of course it's to avenge my parents and me."

Bai Ning walked down from the second floor step by step and stood in front of Xia Jingming.

Xia Jingming felt guilty and scared, but he still stubbornly said, "What revenge? We're family, how could we have any grudges?"

"No?" Bai Ning smiled. "Why my parents were in a car accident, has nothing to do with you?"

Xia Jingming was startled. "Of course it has nothing to do with me, Zhizhi. There must be some misunderstanding between us."

“Let’s have a good talk. Your uncle is very happy that you’re back. Could you please put the gun down first?”

Bai Ning gripped the gun tightly. "Even now, you still won't admit it."

She raised the gun and pointed it at his forehead.

"No, no, no, Zhizhi, please spare your uncle, I beg you."

"Why didn't you spare our family back then?" Bai Ning demanded sharply.

She was trembling all over because she was angry.

This was the first time Lin Yusheng had seen her like this, and she couldn't help but call out to her softly, but the distance was too far and Bai Ning didn't hear her.

In order to be featured in a financial magazine, Xia Jingming specially hired a reporter to record the banquet.

Although the reporters were afraid, they still dutifully held up their cameras in order to get the first scoop.

No wonder Bai Ning chose to make his move today.

She could no longer rely on the law to kill Xia Jingming. She planned to die together with him, but she also wanted to expose his misdeeds. If she missed today, she would hardly have another chance.

Bai Ning approached Xia Jingming with red eyes, "Weren't my parents good enough to you? Why did you have to do this to me?"

"No, no, it's not."

"You still won't admit it? I'll send you to hell right now."

Bai Ning made a move to pull the trigger.

Lin Yusheng cried out in fright, "Bai Ning!"

She feared that once Bai Ning fired that shot, there would be no turning back.

But then she thought about it again, and realized that from the moment she killed the first person, she never intended to leave herself a way out.

Bai Ning pursed her lips, not looking at Lin Yusheng.

"No, no, Zhizhi, Uncle knows he was wrong." Xia Jingming was so scared that he wet himself, his face covered in snot and tears.

The security guards were extremely anxious. "This is a society governed by law. If you dare to kill someone again, you will be severely punished by law."

"Legal sanctions? The people you're protecting killed their own brothers and sisters-in-law, killed my parents, and yet they're still alive. You're talking to me about the law now? It's laughable." Bai Ning's face was full of sarcasm and resentment.

Xia Jingming knelt before Bai Ning, kowtowing frantically, "Zhizhi, your uncle was wrong, your uncle really knows he was wrong. For the past ten years, your uncle has spent every day in guilt. Please spare your uncle's life."

"If we spare you, will your parents come back?"

"And another thing," Bai Ning smiled bloodthirstyly, "Your aunt, cousin, and older cousin have all gone downstairs. Aren't you going to join them?"

Xia Jingming froze, his gaze falling on his lifeless son, filled with anguish.

"I...I, I still want to live."

"Zhizhi, if you spare your uncle's life, your uncle will return all of the Xia family's assets to you."

Bai Ning: "Oh? But I'm already a criminal. Even if you return the Xia family to me, I won't live to enjoy it."

Seeing that there was room for discussion, Xia Jingming quickly said, "No, no, Uncle will think of a solution."

"Ha!" Bai Ning sneered, "You're still as selfish as ever."

Just then, the sound of police sirens came from outside the door.

Bai Ning put her index finger on the trigger. She was unwilling to let Xia Jingming die like this. She wished she could put all kinds of torture on him, but she couldn't do it.

With a "bang," a bloody hole appeared in Xia Jingming's forehead. He couldn't make a sound and fell to the ground with his eyes wide open in death.

The bloody scene terrified those present, causing them to scream, and many vomited due to psychological reactions.

Lin Yusheng and Shen Yishu felt a chill run through them as they looked at Bai Ning.

They were also horrified by the bloody and violent scene.

Police could already be seen rushing in through the gate of the Xia family's house.

Lin Yusheng looked at Bai Ning with concern, and their eyes met.

She could see the weariness and relief in Bai Ning's eyes.

Bai Ning opened her mouth, but ultimately didn't say what she wanted to say.

She originally wanted Lin Yusheng to apologize to Wen Shengyao on her behalf.

But then I thought about it and decided against it; why leave any unnecessary entanglements?

After avenging herself, the coldness and stubbornness in her eyes finally disappeared.

Bai Ning finally looked at the reporters present.

When the reporters came into her line of sight, they were instantly frightened and hid behind a pillar.

But instead of the expected gunshots, a very sincere voice was heard: "Please, expose his crimes for me."

After saying this, Bai Ning pressed the gun against his head.

Lin Yusheng and Shen Yishu shouted at the same time, "No!"

"No, Bai Ning."

A single tear fell, a testament to Bai Ning's only regret for leaving this world.

The police were getting closer and closer. Bai Ning's mind was filled with the experiences of her short life, and she couldn't hear what they were shouting through loudspeakers.

Just as she was about to pull the trigger, a hurried figure entered her field of vision.

Wen Shengyao has matured since we first met; his once tea-green hair is now smooth and black.

Bai Ning's last thought was, "If I had known, I would have chosen a different way to die. This way, it would have scared that young master."

As the gunshots rang out again, the entire stadium finally returned to silence.

Bai Ning closed her eyes and fell to the ground, blood instantly spreading out from her head.

Lin Yusheng and Shen Yishu hugged each other, unable to bear watching any longer.

When Wen Shengyao, who had just gone out for a walk, heard the people who were leaving in a hurry talking, he was thinking about Bai Ning and the others.

He was afraid they might be in danger, so he rushed back.
