Chapter 149 Love Adds a Touch of Romance to Life

Lin Yusheng was grateful. Xu Yifan was just trying to make her laugh, a kind of indirect comfort.

Xu Yifan had barely left when Wen Nian called.

The moment the call connected, Wen Nian's anxious voice rang out, "My brother is injured, how is he?"

"It's alright, Dr. Xu has already treated his wound, don't worry."

"Where are you hurt? Is it serious?"

Lin Yusheng said, "I injured my left arm."

With no danger to his life, Wen Nian breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good."

Lin Yusheng paused for a moment, then asked, "You consider these kinds of injuries to be minor?"

"I guess so. In our eyes, there are probably only two levels of injury: fatal and non-fatal."

Lin Yusheng had mixed feelings.

Wen Nian said, "It's so late, my brother should be asleep by now. I'll go see him again tomorrow. Please take good care of him."

"Um."

After hanging up the phone, Lin Yusheng went upstairs.

After the injection was finished, Xu Yifan left.

The room was silent. Lin Yusheng walked to the bedside and sat down.

Even though the sleeping pills put Lu Zhengye into a deep sleep, his brows were still slightly furrowed and could not be relaxed.

Lin Yusheng couldn't help but reach out to smooth out the wrinkles, her face full of heartache.

She leaned down and gently kissed his brow with her red lips. After releasing him, she murmured, "A-Ye, after we get our revenge, you mustn't frown anymore."

Lin Yusheng carefully lay down beside him on his right, took his hand, and fell asleep.

*

The next day, the sun shone brightly.

Lin Yusheng forgot to close the curtains last night.

So the sunlight streamed into the room without obstruction, gently falling on the two people on the bed.

Lu Zhengye sensed something and slowly opened his eyes.

The sunlight wasn't glaring, but it still took him a while to adjust.

He turned his head to look at the area on his right.

Lin Yusheng hugged his waist, her warm breath still brushing against his arm. She slept peacefully with her eyes closed, her long eyelashes casting a shadow.

When he first got together with Lin Yusheng, she always had nightmares and didn't like to sleep next to him.

Later, the two grew closer, Lin Yusheng had fewer nightmares, and became more and more dependent on him.

As Lu Zhengye recalled these things, a gentleness gradually crept onto his brow, a tenderness he himself was unaware of.

Lin Yusheng seemed to sense the sunlight, moved her eyes, and showed signs of waking up.

Lu Zhengye raised his right hand to shield her face from the light.

Lin Yusheng smacked her lips and fell asleep again.

Lu Zhengye was charmed by her cuteness, and the corners of his mouth curved into a beautiful arc, gentler than the morning sunlight.

...

When Lin Yusheng woke up, the first thing she saw was a large hand with distinct knuckles, the kind that she, as a hand fetishist, loved the most.

She blinked, her gaze shifted upwards, and she saw Lu Zhengye, who had been watching her the whole time.

Lin Yusheng snapped awake and sat up. "When did you wake up? How are you feeling? Does your wound hurt?"

"Just woke up, it hurts."

Lu Zhengye's voice was seductive, with the magnetism of someone just waking up, and a hint of grievance.

Lin Yusheng stepped over his waist to his left, and lifted the blanket, saying, "Let me see if there's any blood."

The gauze was still the same as last night. Lin Yusheng breathed a sigh of relief. "Luckily, there was no bleeding. I'll go ask Dr. Xu if I can give you painkillers."

Just as Lin Yusheng was about to get out of bed, Lu Zhengye grabbed her wrist.

Lu Zhengye pulled Lin Yusheng back to his side, then held the back of her head and kissed her on the corner of her lips. "It doesn't hurt anymore."

Lin Yusheng paused for a moment before realizing that Lu Zhengye was teasing her.

She angrily punched his chest, "Shameless!"

Lu Zhengye smiled, revealing a set of bright white teeth, "So cute."

Lin Yusheng was both embarrassed and angry, but in the end she laughed at herself.

"Get up and wash up, I'll cook you some porridge."

Lu Zhengye used one hand to pull her from the left to the right, then wrapped his arms tightly around her waist.

He said, "I'm not hungry, stay with me a little longer."

Lin Yusheng softened, "Okay, but don't make any sudden moves. You still have an injury on your hand."

"OK."

The two hugged quietly for a while before Lu Zhengye raised his right hand and said, "It saved my life, Shengsheng, you saved my life."

"It has only been given some divine meaning; it has no ability to save people."

"You are my life now, Sheng Sheng," Lu Zhengye said earnestly, word by word.

Last night he lost control and had no idea what he was going to do to Sheng Sheng, but when he saw this string of Buddhist beads, he regained his senses and didn't hurt Sheng Sheng, which saved his life.

His purpose in life used to be revenge; he never thought about what life would be like after revenge.

But now he thinks about the future every day, and every day of the future is filled with the image of Lin Yusheng.

Lin Yusheng felt a lump in her throat. She wrapped her arms around his waist and said, "Your life belongs only to yourself, Aye. You must learn to love yourself first before you love me."

...

Despite his injury, Lu Zhengye was unusually willing to allow himself some free time.

He brushed his teeth and washed his face with Lin Yusheng, and Lin Yusheng cooked porridge while he watched from the side.

While drinking porridge, she even pretentiously asked Lin Yusheng to feed her.

"If I remember correctly, Mr. Lu injured his left hand."

"Although the injury is in my left hand, my whole body aches."

...

After eating, the two of them stayed home together to watch a movie and have some snacks.

Let's go for a walk with Ah Sheng this afternoon.

Just like the most ordinary couples in the world, their eyes are full of love, and even the simplest things they do together become more romantic.

The crabapple tree is blooming again.

Lin Yusheng and Lu Zhengye would pick a few branches every day and place them in the living room and bedroom.

*

The time for the court hearing is fast approaching.

Lu Zhengye went to the company, and Lin Yusheng stayed at home to avoid causing trouble and ensure her safety.

That day, she was putting the crabapple blossoms she had picked into a vase when Lu Jing called.

Lin Yusheng hesitated for a moment, but still answered the call.

After all, Lu Jing was indeed the only one in the Lu family who genuinely cared for Lu Zhengye.

"Hello, is this Sheng Sheng?" Lu Jing's voice sounded extremely haggard.

Lin Yusheng could understand his pain, but she couldn't persuade Lu Zhengye to let go of his hatred.

After all, Lu Jing and Xie Yuqiong are unforgivable for all of this.

"It's me, Grandpa Lu. How are you?"

"Grandpa is old, he doesn't have many years left, whether he's good or not."

Lin Yusheng said, "Don't say that. Grandpa Lu, you are in good health and will definitely live to be a hundred years old."

Lu Jing laughed.

The two remained silent for a while.

Lu Jing finally revealed the purpose of the call, "Girl, could you come see Grandpa and keep him company?"

Lin Yusheng didn't know how to answer for a moment.

Lu Jing added, "Don't worry, Grandpa is getting old and doesn't get involved in other things anymore. Right now, I just want someone to talk to."

Lin Yusheng thought for a moment, and finally hardened her heart, saying, "Grandpa, after this is all over, I will go back to see you with A-Ye."
