Wen Nian didn't take him seriously at all.
To him, such a person is no different from a useless person.
He kicked the man with all his might, sending him crashing back into the bushes. The man tumbled over and coughed violently, clutching his stomach, his throat filled with a metallic taste.
He couldn't get up for a while.
Wen Nian strode across the grass. The girl, who was originally sunny and cheerful, was now disheveled, with both cheeks red and swollen, her face covered in tears, but she didn't make a sound.
Her clothes became disheveled in the struggle, and her neckline was so low that her private parts could be seen if she let go.
Wen Nian suddenly felt extremely angry, and his face turned as black as if it could drip water.
He took off his denim jacket and threw it to her.
Shen Yishu smelled a fresh scent on the clothes, and her heart slowly calmed down.
She put on her clothes.
The man stood up, his eyes red, and charged at Wen Nian again with his knife.
When Shen Yishu saw that Wen Nian neither dodged nor flinched, her heart was in her throat.
"Watch out!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Wen Nian moved. His movements were so fast that Shen Yishu didn't even see exactly how he did it.
All he knew was that by the time he realized what was happening, Wen Nian had already grabbed his wrist, and the knife in his hand was stabbed into his lower body.
Shen Yishu watched helplessly as the man's lower body was stained with blood, and then the man gradually began to make sounds of pain.
She hadn't expected to see blood, and her mind went blank.
Wen Nian sneered, grabbed the man's shirt hem, and stuffed it into his mouth to prevent his noise from attracting attention.
The man was in so much pain that he broke out in a cold sweat and even lost his voice.
As soon as Wen Nian let go of him, he knelt down on the ground, trembling all over in pain.
Shen Yishu turned pale with fright at the scene before her. Her life over the past twenty years had been too peaceful.
Wen Nian originally wanted to show concern for Shen Yishu, but seeing how frightened she was, he lost all interest in that.
He leaned down, sneered, and asked, "Scared?"
Shen Yishu then looked up at him, but her first words stunned Wen Nian.
What will you do when the police arrive?
Wen Nian's smile froze for a moment, and the next sentence stuck in her throat.
Shen Yishu stood up and said seriously to Wen Nian, "You should leave first. This is my own business. Thank you for saving me."
Wen Nian remained silent for a long time without moving.
Shen Yishu grew increasingly anxious. "Did you hear that?"
Her eyes were filled with worry and anxiety.
Wen Nian couldn't stand that kind of gaze, so she straightened up and asked calmly, "Are you going to take the blame for me?"
"It's not on your behalf. This whole thing started because of me, so I should take the blame. You should leave now."
Shen Yishu was terrified, but she had only one thought in her mind: she couldn't implicate Wen Nian.
Wen Nian saved her, and she couldn't be ungrateful.
Seeing that she was so scared that she was about to cry but was still trying to hold back, Wen Nian gave up on teasing her.
He walked up to the man.
The man seemed to see Yan Wang approaching him, and his eyes were filled with terror as he tried to back away, but the movement aggravated his wounds, causing him excruciating pain.
When Shen Yishu saw Wen Nian squat down, she was afraid that he might do something impulsive again, so she ran over and hugged him.
She pleaded, "Please don't hit anyone again. If someone dies, you won't be able to escape the consequences."
Feeling uncomfortable being hugged, Wen Nian frowned and said, "Which eye of yours saw me about to hit someone?"
"Isn't that right?" Shen Yishu was still uneasy.
Wen Nian didn't want to explain too much, and simply said, "Let go."
Shen Yishu let go of his hand, but refused to leave his side, fearing that he might do something earth-shattering again.
Wen Nian was speechless, but too lazy to waste words with her.
He took a bottle of perfume out of his pocket and opened it.
Shen Yishu instinctively covered her mouth and nose.
The man was startled; he thought it was poison, but it was too late to hold his breath.
The fragrance was everywhere, and soon he felt all the pain in his body disappear.
Even Shen Yishu could smell a faint scent.
It's a gentle and soothing fragrance that makes you feel relaxed and sleepy.
Realizing this, Shen Yishu quickly pinched her thigh to bring herself back to her senses.
Wen Nianhui uses incense to aid hypnosis, which she has always been wary of.
Shen Yishu saw Wen Nian take out another blue pocket watch from his pocket, place it in front of the drunkard, and shake it from side to side.
Her gaze couldn't help but fall on the pattern on the pocket watch; it was indeed quite exquisitely made.
After a while, she felt sleepy again, her head was still foggy, and she could only hear the ticking of her pocket watch.
She only snapped back to reality when she heard Wen Nian's voice.
"You didn't see anyone tonight; you just got drunk and accidentally hurt yourself."
The drunkard, his eyes glazed, repeated Wen Nian's words.
Shen Yishu's breath caught in her throat. Could there really be such an amazing skill in this world?
Wen Nian snapped his fingers, and the drunkard passed out.
Shen Yishu: "Is this all I need?"
"What else? If you can't handle it, then turn yourself in," Wen Nian said coldly.
Shen Yishu still had many worries, "Will your fingerprints be left on the fruit knife?"
I was holding his wrist.
"And that kick you just gave him..."
"It won't leave a trace." Wen Nian stood up, a hint of impatience in his eyes.
Shen Yishu looked at him pitifully, with tears still clinging to the corners of her eyes.
Wen Nian, "Are we going back or not?"
Shen Yishu nodded hurriedly. She stood up so quickly that her vision blurred and she staggered a few steps.
Wen Nian reached out and helped her up.
Shen Yishu threw herself into his arms and wrapped her arms around his waist.
Both of them froze at the same time, and after realizing what had happened, they pushed each other away.
Shen Yishu said somewhat shyly, "Thank you."
Wen Nian felt that her scent still lingered on him, and his feelings were complicated. He turned around and said, "Let's go, people will be here soon."
Shen Yishu followed.
The two walked one after the other.
Wen Nian was still wearing a sweatshirt underneath, with the jacket draped over Shen Yishu's shoulders.
As Shen Yishu smelled his unique scent and looked at his broad and tall back, her heart began to beat faster.
The moon was blocked by clouds, and its light could not shine down.
Shen Yishu could see nothing at all now, and she didn't dare to turn on her phone's flashlight. Wen Nian, on the other hand, didn't stop walking at all, as if he were walking in broad daylight.
She felt a chill run down her spine for no reason and, fearing it, cautiously clutched Wen Nian's hoodie sleeve.
When Wen Nian noticed, he turned around and glanced at her. She was burying her head in the sand like an ostrich, and all he could see was the top of her round head. Her slender white hands were tightly gripping his sleeve, but she didn't dare to pull him hard.
He couldn't help but curl his lips into a sneer, inwardly mocking: Coward.
Wen Nian has long legs and big strides, making it difficult for Shen Yishu to keep up.
He noticed this and subconsciously slowed his pace.
Then he felt annoyed, wondering why he had bothered with this woman.
