In another ward at this time.
Zhou Qi and Wei Qing faced off.
Wei Qing: "Kid, what's your name?"
Zhou Qi, unlike his usual easygoing manner with Lin Yusheng, retorted with a stiff neck, "Why should I tell you?"
"My name is Wei Qing, let's be friends?"
Wei Qing's friendly expression completely baffled Zhou Qi.
After a while, Zhou Qi's eyes darted around, and he said awkwardly, "My name is Zhou Qi."
"The 'Qi' in 'prayer'?"
"Um."
Wei Qing smiled and said, "It sounds really nice."
How old are you this year?
Zhou Qi frowned. "Why are you acting like that woman, like you're checking my census? I'm 16, what's wrong with that?"
Wei Qing pushed up his glasses. "Who taught you your hacking skills?"
Why should I tell you?
Wei Qing: "That's true, you're my defeated opponent, so there's really no need for you to tell me."
Zhou Qi stared wide-eyed in disbelief. He straightened up abruptly, but then fell back down in pain the next second.
He grinned and said, "It was you, you broke my technique."
"What? Do I not look like a hacker?"
Zhou Qi looked Wei Qing up and down; he was dressed in a suit and wearing gold-rimmed glasses.
He shook his head and said, "No, he seems more like a shrewd businessman."
Wei Qing's facial muscles twitched; it was all the boss's fault for leading him astray.
"I'm capable of dominating the business world openly and freely surfing the internet secretly. What do you, a minor brat, know?"
Zhou Qi tilted his head back disdainfully and asked, "How did you do that?"
"Answer my question above first."
The two were locked in a stalemate for a few minutes before Zhou Qi finally gave in. "No one taught me. I don't have parents. I grew up in internet cafes. At first, I helped with cleaning, and later I learned to fix computers and play with computers from others. As I met more people, I learned a little bit here and a little bit there, and that's how I got the hang of it."
Wei Qing nodded, but inwardly he marveled that he had encountered a genius.
Zhou Qi said, "Now it's your turn to tell me. You broke my information blockade against that man and even removed my virus, so why didn't I notice anything?"
Wei Qing smiled and said, "It's very simple. We just need to hack into your computer and modify a few lines of code."
Wei Qing spoke so matter-of-factly that Zhou Qi's face turned red with frustration.
"Then how did you switch drivers? When did you switch? If the car had stopped, there was no way I wouldn't have noticed."
“Who said we had to stop and change drivers?” Wei Qing leaned back on the sofa and said, “That man you’re talking about is my boss. He can jump out of a car traveling at 120 kilometers per hour, let alone on a highway with a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour.”
"So who was driving after that?"
"There's no one here."
"Is there no one here, or is it a ghost?" Zhou Qi felt that Wei Qing was playing a trick on him.
Wei Qing smiled and saw that he didn't say anything.
Zhou Qi felt uneasy under that gaze. He couldn't help but look around, wondering if there really was a ghost.
Wei Qing burst into laughter, while Zhou Qi, enraged and embarrassed, demanded, "What are you laughing at?"
Do you know what self-driving cars are?
Zhou Qi was stunned.
If that car could be driven by itself, then it would make sense.
But this involves areas where his knowledge is lacking.
He asked, "Has my country developed a driverless car?"
"Of course not, but Country K has already figured it out."
Zhou Qi said, "Of course I know that, but doesn't Country K only sell to its own country?"
"You should pay attention to current events. TL has reached a cooperation agreement with Country A, and the first batch of driverless cars has already started to go on sale."
Zhou Qi gritted his teeth; so this was where he had lost.
After finishing their casual conversation, Wei Qing became serious. "Do you know that what you're doing right now is illegal?"
"So what? I'm starving to death, I don't care if it's illegal or not."
"You have hands and feet, can't you support yourself?"
Zhou Qi seemed to have been hit where it hurt, and he said loudly, "Country A has enacted a law banning child labor. I am still a minor, and no one will want me anywhere."
"If you've broken the law, then arrest me. At least I'll have enough to eat in jail."
After Zhou Qi finished speaking, he turned his head away, but the tears in his eyes revealed the fear in his heart as a child.
Wei Qing sighed.
Just then, his phone rang; it was his boss.
Lu Zhengye said that Lin Yusheng pleaded for the child and asked Wei Qing to find a way to save him from imprisonment.
This was exactly what Wei Qing wanted to hear. He said, "Leave it to me."
The call ended.
Wei Qing quickly walked to the bedside, ignoring Zhou Qi's terrified expression, and pinched his cheek.
"Kid, you've met a kind-hearted goddess. That lady won't hold you responsible."
Zhou Qi blinked, somewhat bewildered, and asked hesitantly, "Does that mean I don't have to go to jail?"
"Yeah, are you happy?"
Zhou Qi smiled, too embarrassed to speak, so he could only nod.
*
The explosion has attracted a lot of attention online.
Netizens made various speculations, but the news reports did not reveal the truth.
After all, the rampant activities of these murderous organizations would cause panic.
Lin Yusheng and Lin Jingyu also kept it a secret from their parents.
One night, Lin Yusheng was fast asleep.
Lu Zhengye, however, took Wei Qing and left the ward.
Lin Jingyu, who was still awake, saw this and followed them.
A Maybach was already parked downstairs.
Lu Zhengye did not get into the car immediately. He turned around as if he had expected it and met Lin Jingyu who was following closely behind.
