Chapter 71

Chapter 71

Sister Peng looked around and saw that there was no one around. Then she leaned close to Lin Sheng's ear and said,

"He does normally use his right hand, but I've seen him on several occasions privately using his left hand. I guess he's afraid of being noticed. This is his private matter, so I can't say much."

After that, the elevator just arrived at the floor, and the elevator door opened. A man was seen standing outside the door. Seeing the two people whispering inside, the man showed displeasure between his brows.

When Sister Peng saw him, she immediately shut up and said to the man,

"Are you going to work without eating?"

The man said angrily,

"No need to eat. Just buy something outside. Don't keep chatting with other people outside. Doctor Ye might be hungry at this time."

After saying that, Sister Peng reacted quickly and hurried into the house.

Lin Sheng looked at the man in front of her, and their eyes met inadvertently for a moment. When the elevator door was completely closed, a hint of darkness appeared in Lin Sheng's eyes.

There were only Ye Jingchuan and Lin Sheng at the dining table. Sister Peng was afraid of disturbing Ye Jingchuan's peace and did not plan to eat with them.

Ye Jingchuan took the initiative to pour wine for the two of them and pushed the glass to Lin Sheng's hand, with a gentle smile still on his face.

"Ms. Lin, thank you for your hard work these past two days."

"It's not hard, it's just my job. But I don't drink, so I'm giving you a drink instead. Sorry."

Ye Jingchuan's expression remained unchanged. He nodded in agreement and stared at Lin Sheng as he drank the juice in his hand.

At night, Lin Sheng fell asleep without knowing when.

As soon as she opened her eyes, Lin Sheng looked at everything in front of her blankly. She was standing in front of a wooden house, surrounded by a thick gray fog. It was so quiet that only her breathing could be heard.

Staring at the house in front of her, Lin Sheng looked at everything in front of her with vigilance. Dark red paint was scattered all over the wooden house, as if it had been abandoned for many years. She quietly pushed open the wooden door in front of her, scanned the area with the faint light, and tentatively walked in.

"Squeak."

The wooden door behind him closed quietly, and the room fell into darkness. No sound could be heard around him. Lin Sheng understood instantly and carefully listened to the sounds around him.

"who?"

Lin Sheng noticed the black figure outside the window first. Before the man could make a strange laugh, Lin Sheng picked up the chair in front of the table and smashed it against the window. There was a loud "bang" and the black figure disappeared outside the window in an instant, but the wooden window was not damaged at all.

He took out a fire talisman from his bag and lit it at his fingertips. A beam of fire instantly floated in the air and stopped in front of Lin Sheng.

But the moment the firelight illuminated, a figure suddenly appeared right in front of Lin Sheng, less than half a meter away from Lin Sheng.

Dark purple lips, abnormally white eye sockets, the corners of the lips extending towards the ears, with bright red flesh and blood hanging between the teeth. The smiling face was weird, with lifeless eyes, messy hair, and rags of clothes half hanging on the shoulders.

"Ah! So ugly!"

This ugly thing frightened Lin Sheng, and he immediately punched the opponent on the forehead.

"So this is the dream you created. But let me make one thing clear: this is my dream, and you have no say in it."

The "person" fell straight down, and the next second its head was still standing, erected on its neck as thin as a stick, forming a standard 90-degree angle with the fallen body. Without turning over, its limbs turned straight around, and its legs instantly turned into four-wheel drive, rushing into the dark corridor at an extremely fast speed.

"The bones are unique, and they are a good material for martial arts training."

Lin Sheng couldn't help but sigh and immediately chased after him. The fire in front of him cleared the way and led Lin Sheng directly into the "person's" room.

I saw that "person" was lying on the ground, using both hands to tear something on the ground in the dark.

The "man" suddenly turned his head, and half of his face was dyed bright red. In his left hand, he was holding another arm, which was obviously not his. In his other hand, he was holding a piece of fresh flesh and blood, which he was chewing in his mouth.

Looking down, Lin Sheng could vaguely see that the person lying on the ground was also a "person"!

Lin Sheng immediately realized that this happened to be its lunch time. Disgust appeared in his eyes. He took out a peach wood sword from his bag and cut the thing off immediately.

But the dream did not disappear and continued.

There was a rustling sound coming from the stairs opposite the door. Lin Sheng's nerves tensed up in an instant. He threw a yellow talisman towards the door, illuminating the things at the door.

The firelight fell on the object, reflecting a complete human face.

No, to be precise, it has a human head and a snake body!

The human head and the snake body were crudely sewn together to create the monster before us.

The monster opened its bloody mouth and rushed towards Lin Sheng.

At this moment, downstairs in the community.

Wen Yao suddenly saw a dark red light flashing from Xu Guannan's chest pocket. His eyes widened instantly and he patted Xu Guannan's shoulder hurriedly.

"Boss, the yellow talisman is lighting up!"

Xu Guannan's face changed and he ran upstairs instantly.

"Something happened to Lin Sheng!"

Others followed closely behind.

Xu Guannan knocked open Ye Jingchuan's door lock and rushed in with his men. He saw Ye Jingchuan holding a dagger in his left hand.

The dagger cut through the dark night and was about to stab Lin Sheng in an instant. Xu Guannan shot him without hesitation, accurately hitting Ye Jingchuan's wrist, and the dagger fell to the ground.

Xu Guannan pounced towards Lin Sheng.

"Lin Sheng."

"Lin Sheng, wake up!"

At the same moment, in her dream, Lin Sheng chopped off the monster's head with a sword. A familiar voice vaguely came to her ears. Everything around her began to dissipate, and she saw the other two half-corpses in the closet in the corner.

"call--"

"call--"

The sound of increasingly heavy breathing rang in his ears. Everything around him was so quiet. His throat was dry, but there was no water in his bag. Wei He was isolated and helpless, and could only go deeper into Yougu Mountain.

Four days ago, Wei He followed an adventure group to Yougu Mountain. It was rumored that Yougu Mountain was a forbidden area, an evil place where people could only enter but not leave, and no one was allowed to live. But the more mysterious it was, the more people wanted to explore it.

However, just three days after the expedition arrived at Yougu Mountain, most members began to suffer from vomiting and diarrhea, and even coughed up blood. For safety reasons, the team leader organized the team members to go down the mountain. Only Wei He was unwilling to give up and stayed alone.

The leader was worried and told us before he left.

"I'll only give you three days. If you haven't come out and contacted us after three days, we'll immediately call the police and the search and rescue team."

Wei He agreed. Today is the second day.

There was not much food left and all the water was gone. The Yougu Mountain was full of fog and it was the dry season recently, so it had not rained at all.

The vegetation in the mountains was something that had never been seen outside, so Wei He didn't dare to eat it casually.

He didn't know how long he had been walking, but Wei He was sure in his heart that he had already walked two-thirds of the way, and soon he would be able to go down the mountain.

The sun was shining brightly at noon, but unfortunately the sunlight could not penetrate the thick fog in the Yougu Mountain Forest. It could only disperse it slightly. As the sunlight progressed, the fog around him gradually dissipated. Wei He's field of vision became wider, and his pace also quickened.

The food is running out, we have to get down the mountain quickly.

The sky brightened, the thick fog gradually cleared, and a black wooden house quietly came into view.

Wei He's eyes were stunned, and a panic rose in his heart. This wooden house was not marked on the map, but suddenly appeared in front of him. Wei He tried his best to control himself from thinking of the worst.

Wei He was still a little scared of the wooden house that appeared out of nowhere, so he simply ignored it and continued walking forward. However, out of the corner of his eye, he saw that the wooden house was locked, and the lock was newly locked, so maybe someone was living there.

Looking back, my companions once said that there was a village at the foot of Yougu Mountain. There was a special mountain guard in the village. If you meet him in the mountains, you can ask him for help.

Without thinking too much, Wei He felt lucky, a slight smile appeared on the corners of his cracked lips, and he changed his route and walked towards the wooden house.

Without the key, he couldn't open the door. Wei He pried open the window and looked inside. There was only a wooden chair, a simple stove, a black iron pot, and a simple single bed under the window. The house was covered with a layer of dust. Obviously, the owner had not been there for some time.

The corners of Wei He's lips drooped, he sighed heartbrokenly, closed the window, and continued walking forward.

But after walking about fifty meters, Wei He suddenly saw a simple tent in the forest. The tent door chain was closed. He was not sure whether there was anyone inside. If there was someone, at least he could have some companionship.

Looking more closely, I found a few fresh fruit peels beside the tent, which showed that someone was there, or had not been away for long.

That sense of luck once again rippled in Wei He's heart. His steps became lighter and he quickened his pace. Maybe he could meet a companion, who would take care of him on the road ahead.

The sky was tilted and the thick fog seemed to be receding.

Without a watch and his cell phone was out of battery, Wei He had no idea how much time had passed. His steps became heavier and heavier. The last pack of compressed biscuits in his pocket was gone. The corners of his lips were cracked and blood was oozing out slightly.

Wei He had only one thought in his mind, to get out as soon as possible.

With his strength almost exhausted, Wei He's eyes were dark and he walked forward with a numb look on his face. Suddenly, a tent appeared in his sight again. He took a closer look and found that it was exactly the same as the one he encountered a few hours ago. This thought popped up in his mind and Wei He's thoughts returned.

A sense of uneasiness arose in my heart, and it was beating uneasily. The tent was already open, and there was a person lying in the tent. I couldn't see his appearance clearly, but through the mist, I could vaguely make out his figure and it was a man.

His upper body was inside the tent, while his lower body was sticking out of the tent, exposed outside, so it was impossible to tell whether he was dead or alive.

Wei He's throat moved slightly and he swallowed his saliva. His heart seemed to be in his throat. He was afraid that the other person was dead, but he was even more afraid that the other person was still breathing. What if he could be saved?

Taking a deep breath, Wei He approached tentatively. Before he could see the person's appearance clearly, he caught a glimpse of the blackened and rotten fruit peel at the door of the tent.

This is the tent we were looking for!

While trying hard to recall, Wei He unconsciously squatted down and approached the man, but he could not remember at all that he had encountered the wooden house for the second time on the way here.
