Chapter 8 Pig Strong

"Just as I expected, if you live in a city, you'll be assigned to the Steel City War Zone. Overall, being assigned to this war zone is pretty lucky."

"Although it only has eight million quotas for Wild Beast Warriors, ranking last among the seven major war zones, the competitive pressure is also the lowest, with almost no top predators."

"In contrast, the Endless Ocean War Zone is the battlefield for most aquatic animals! Although there are 100 million soldiers available, the competition is much more intense. Even top predators like great white sharks, killer whales, giant squids, and lion's mane jellyfish are present."

Zhang Heng recalled the information he had obtained from the lotus leaf, but he didn't feel any more relieved. Even in the Iron City War Zone, where the pressure was minimal, only eight million participants were selected from over eight trillion.

The selection rate of less than one in a million completely destroyed all the exams Zhang Heng had taken when he was still a human.

Moreover, there is always next time if you fail the exam, but here, only the winner has the right to live.

Zhang Heng shook his head, throwing away the heavy burden of thoughts, then he tried to stretch out his palm and push hard.

"Um?"

To his surprise, the gray door was so light that it seemed to have no weight and opened easily with just one push.

The moment Zhang Heng's palm touched the door, the special symbol on the door rippled and transformed into a stream of blue light. The blue light flowed through Zhang Heng's claws and finally returned to its original shape on his round belly.

"Is this the code for joining the battle?"

Zhang Heng touched his belly and walked out of the room.

"Wow!"

After going out, Zhang Heng couldn't help but exclaim loudly at the scene before him.

Mountains, countless gray peaks, but these peaks all point downwards and their bases point upwards, forming platforms.

On each platform, there were three closely connected, quaint gray stone houses. Zhang Heng looked behind him and saw that the one he had just walked out of was the one in the middle.

"It's truly spectacular. I wonder how huge the interior of the stone tablet is. The rest area alone could hold trillions of mountains."

Zhang Heng sighed secretly.

“Hmph…Hmph.”

At this moment, Zhang Heng's sensitive ears heard a few rough grunts, and then he found that the door of the stone house on the left was opened, and a huge creature walked out.

A fat and strong body with skin of black, red and white came into Zhang Heng's sight, and he even smelled a faint familiar fragrance.

"pig?"

Although Zhang Heng could not get a full view of the huge creature in front of him due to the angle, the iconic nose and ears still allowed him to recognize the species of the creature.

“Hmph…Hmph!”

When the pig heard Zhang Heng's voice, it was actually startled and turned around stupidly looking for the source of the sound.

"Hey! Stop turning, you almost stepped on me!"

Zhang Heng quickly ran away. He didn't want to be trampled to death before he even started fighting.

"Hmm...Hmm, you...you are?"

As soon as Zhang Heng moved, the pig noticed him. It stared at him with wide eyes, observing him curiously and stammering in a mysterious language.

"My name is Zhang Heng. What's your name?"

Zhang Heng thought for a moment and used his former human name again.

"Zhang...Zhang Heng? What's...what's his name?"

There was confusion in the pig's eyes.

"The name is just a name, emm..."

Zhang Heng was about to explain, but he suddenly remembered that the pig in front of him had only recently been civilized and couldn't even speak clearly. It was stupid and dumb. Even if he explained it to it, it wouldn't understand.

Zhang Heng stopped there and asked it another question using a simple description.

"Why are you different from your kind? Look, and smell."

He really had never seen a pig with three colors.

"That day...fire...burned...wood...humans...knives...death...disappeared..."

From the pig's fragmented description, Zhang Heng roughly understood the whole story.

Just yesterday, the pigpen where this pig lived caught fire. All its companions were burned to death. It was also burned all over and its skin was burned off. It was only one step away from the gates of hell.

When the pig farmer saw its miserable state, he took the butcher knife and wanted to kill it, but it suddenly disappeared and it survived.

Zhang Heng finally nodded in understanding. No wonder the pig was white, black, and red. The black was burnt skin, the red was freshly clotted blood, and the familiar smell was naturally that of barbecue. As for the owner's sudden disappearance, it was because he had also transformed into an animal.

"Life is not easy for a pig. You must learn to be strong! Let's call your name Pig Strong."

Zhang Heng took the initiative and gave it a name.

"Zhu Jianqiang...Zhu Jianqiang, my name? Thank you...thank you, you're such a nice house mouse!"

Zhu Jianqiang actually accepted the name decisively and even wagged his tail with joy.

"It's a field mouse, not a house mouse!"

Zhang Heng corrected him.

"Hmph! A sick pig and a rat dare to participate in the Ten Thousand Races Hegemony Sea Audition? You two are just two losers, you have absolutely no self-awareness."

At this moment, a deep voice was heard. Zhang Heng turned his head and saw a giant beast squatting in front of the stone house on the right.

It has unkempt hair, a fierce look, and sharp teeth. It is a black Tibetan Mastiff.

"What the hell is it to you? You're the only one who knows yourself. If you really know yourself, then go eat shit and don't bother me."

"Why are you staring at me? Whose eyes are bigger? Not convinced? What can you do if you're not convinced? Go ahead and bite me!"

Zhang Heng quickly scolded the newly-minted Tibetan Mastiff. Crucially, it couldn't refute him, as it had indeed eaten that thing before. It couldn't even attack, as attacking other animals outside of combat hours would result in immediate destruction. This was why Zhang Heng felt so confident.
