Chapter 275 Havoc in Heaven? Havoc in the World!

"Mr. Tom, Disney really needs you. We hope you can step in, stop Gong and Dao, and restore Disney's reputation."
Tom's boss's earnest voice came through the phone; it was Tom's boss pleading with him to release his new work.
From the boss's perspective, since Gong and Dao can both publish, then Tom can also publish.
After all, whether it's the palace or the road, Tom is no worse than either of them.
Unfortunately, Tom gave a clear answer: "It's not that I don't want to help you, but that I'm powerless to."
Tom's response clearly displeased his superior, as this competition concerned Disney's dignity.
The champion of last competition failed to even make the top three this year, which is extremely embarrassing.

"No need," Tom replied to his boss with a cold refusal.
"Why?" the boss asked, his voice tinged with anger. He simply wanted a top-three finish, so why was Tom refusing to agree?

"I know my own abilities. I've read both Gong and Dao's works, and with my work, I simply can't make it into the top three."

"Dad, Mr. Pixar is here."
Tom's daughter gently knocked on the door, peeked out and said something. After she finished speaking, she exclaimed in surprise, not hearing her father's question.
So she looked at Tom and saw him sitting motionless in front of the computer, staring intently at the screen, as if he hadn't heard her. So she pushed open the door.
She gave Pixar an apologetic smile, and the two of them went inside, standing on either side of Tom, their faces showing curiosity. What was Tom looking at?
"Disney could never make an animation like this!"
However, just as the two were about to go closer to find out what was going on, they heard Tom say loudly.
"ah……"
The two were startled and their breath caught in their throats, their expressions showing shock.
"Hey, what are you two doing here?" Tom, coming back to his senses, looked at the two people beside him in surprise and asked in astonishment.
"Dad, what are you looking at? We've been calling you for ages, and you're so engrossed!" Tom's daughter asked, somewhat exasperated.
“I’m looking at Tao’s latest work,” Tom replied, then turned his gaze to Pixar, whose attention was fixed on the computer screen, watching intently.
"Alright, you two talk it out. I'll head out now." Seeing Pix's expression, she knew perfectly well that he was going through the same thing as his father, so she made an excuse and turned to leave.
Knock knock knock.
Tom ignored his daughter's request to leave and continued looking at the screen.
"I finally understand why you said that," Pixar said with deep shock after watching the short film for a long time.
Not only will Disney never be able to make such good animation in its lifetime, but the United States probably won't be able to do it either, and even Japan might not be able to.
Tom nodded and said, "Yes, I was immediately captivated when I first watched it. I can't believe that this is an animation produced by China."
"What a pity!" Pix pulled up a chair, sat down, and sighed.
"What's a pity?" Tom asked.
"If this short film had been released a few days earlier, Gong would not have been in first place at all. But now, there is less than a day left in the competition. No matter how good it is, it is too late to turn the tide."
