Chapter 92 Falling to the Bottom

Heavenly Kings and Queens Group

"Old Ren, how's the new song coming along?"

Dr. Chen turned on his talkative mode; he was the most talkative person in the entire chat group.

However, it was precisely his words that brought many previously unknown pop stars to the surface.

"Ren released a new song. When did this happen? He didn't even tell us?"

Zhang Tianwang added a puzzled expression.

"It was released a while ago, but it wasn't promoted much."

Wang Gehou (a famous singer) is more concerned about things in the music industry, so she immediately came forward to explain on Ren Qiming's behalf.

"How's the new song?" Andy Lau asked curiously.

Ren Xiaotianwang is very popular. When the superstars in the group learned that he had released a new song, they all asked him about it.

Faced with such enthusiastic friends, Ren Xiaotianwang replied helplessly: "It's alright, I guess. After all these years, there are still fans who remember me and like to listen to my new songs."

"Old Ren is too modest. Your songs are just as good as ours."

Xie Xiaotianwang grinned mischievously. Compared to him, there are very few singers still active in the music scene.

"Yeah, back then, who didn't hum a line from your song, Ren? Don't be so modest."

Zhang Tianwang has clashed with Ren Xiaotianwang the most, with both victories and defeats, so he is very clear about Ren Xiaotianwang's strength.

After hearing this, Ren Qiming spread his hands and smiled wryly: "I didn't lie to you."

"The popular songs these days are all lame songs, I don't even have a chance to get on the charts."

Then, Ren Qiming's next sentence left everyone in the group speechless.

"Really?"

Dr. Chen hasn't been paying much attention to the music scene lately, so he was unaware of such astonishing changes that have occurred.

"Yes, the recent cold wave is even more severe than before. It's no exaggeration to say that the Chinese music scene has been shrouded in the shadow of the cold wave for the past month."

Wang Gehou sighed. Although she hadn't released a song, she felt the chill and understood how terrible the cold wave was.

"How is this possible? Wasn't Han Liu killed by Tian Yi long ago?" Liu Tianwang was somewhat incredulous.

Zhang Ge made a rare statement: "It's resurrected, but it's not a real cold wave."

"Strictly speaking, it was a group of guys who returned from studying abroad in the cold winter trying to imitate others and bringing their songs and dances back to their country."

"I just didn't expect it to become so popular."

After hearing Zhang Gehou's explanation, everyone fell silent.

"Does Tianyi know about this?" Dr. Chen asked.

"I don't know, but Tianyi retired from the music scene a long time ago, just like us. I suppose even if he knew, there would be nothing he could do," Wang Gehou sighed.

"Is it really that terrifying?" King Li asked curiously.

"It's more terrifying than I imagined."

Zhang Gehou was very serious.

"For example, the popularity of this cold wave this month is comparable to your peak fame."

"What's even more terrifying is that the combined fame of the four of you is all concentrated on one person!"

"hiss!"

Upon hearing this, Leon Lai sent out a series of amazed emojis.

"well……"

With a sigh from Andy Lau, the entire group fell silent.

...

A large private room in a luxury hotel.

"Come on, everyone, let's toast to General Manager Zhao."

On the table, delicious food and fragrant wine filled the air.

Park Yeon and other male group members sat on one side, while female group members sat on the other side.

Sitting in the head seat was Zhao Lang, the behind-the-scenes financier of the Golden Song Awards.

Upon hearing Park Yeon's voice, the members of both the boy and girl groups stood up, raised their glasses, and faced President Zhao.

Mr. Zhao smiled, raised his glass, spun it around, lightly touched the glass with his lips, and then gestured for everyone to sit down.

"Thanks to General Manager Zhao, we are all able to sit here."

After offering a toast, Park Yeon, one of the main characters of the evening, said with gratitude.

"That's right."

Everyone responded in unison.

Mr. Zhao waved his hand and said, "Hey, you can't say that. You guys should do your own work. I'm just doing my little bit."

Upon hearing this, Park Yeon shook his head: "President Zhao is too modest. Without your help, how could boy groups and girl groups have become so popular in China in such a short time?"

"That's right, President Zhao is like a second parent to us."

The others echoed this.

General Manager Zhao gave Pu Yan an approving look and calmly accepted the praise.

"It is thanks to Mr. Zhao's help that we were able to leapfrog into the top ranks."

"So, Mr. Zhao, I'll toast you with this glass of wine. I'll drink it all."

Park Yeon raised his glass again and drank it all in one gulp.

Seeing this, the others all offered toasts individually, not daring to decide whether or not General Manager Zhao would drink.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I believe that after this period of development, you have also seen the potential of the Chinese music scene. I will say it again: there is plenty of money waiting for you here."

After one round, General Manager Zhao stood up and said.

"Mr. Zhao is right. The speed at which you can make money in China is many times faster than I imagined."

"Yes, it's so easy to make money from Chinese fans. I even doubted whether it was a mistake for me to go to South Korea to study back then."

"If I had known, I would have gone back to China to develop my career sooner. By then, I could have crushed all those superstars."

The group chatted amongst themselves, their words implying that they didn't take any of the singers seriously.

They certainly have that ability; almost every singer present has millions of fans.

Even the most boring post can get hundreds of thousands of shares and likes.

This made them realize that Chinese fans were far more adorable than South Korean fans.

After hearing this, General Manager Zhao smiled but did not say anything.

He didn't cultivate popular singers like Hua Chenfeng, Ou Fanchen, and Cai Kun like others, but he was more shrewd than anyone else.
