Chapter 137 New Year's Eve Concert
There are less than ten days until New Year's Day.
The orphanage welcomed back long-awaited joyful times.
After paying their respects to the director, Zhou Tianyi and An Yutang temporarily stayed at the orphanage.
The orphanage may not have much else, but it has plenty of empty rooms, enough to comfortably house two people.
During the day, the two played with the children, like big kids mingling among them, enjoying peaceful and happy times together.
In the evening, the two took the children to watch movies and play games at the orphanage. The orphanage, which usually sleeps on time, was filled with a completely different atmosphere than usual.
"Brother Tianyi, what cartoon are we watching tonight?"
Xiao Long asked playfully. He was the oldest in the orphanage, but also the most mischievous.
"I want to see the bear cubs."
"I want to see little pigs."
Before Zhou Tianyi could reply, a group of children below started chattering back.
The answers varied, and there was a wide range of opinions, giving one the feeling that it's impossible to please everyone.
This stumped Zhou Tianyi; he hadn't realized before that there were so many different kinds of cartoons these children watched.
An Yutang stood to the side, mimicking the children's expressions, eagerly awaiting Tianyi's reply.
Seeing Zhou Tianyi's predicament, An Yutang chuckled to herself, showing no intention of helping him out.
The children all looked up at Zhou Tianyi, and under their innocent gazes, Zhou Tianyi suddenly smiled and said, "How about I show you the cartoons I watched when I was little?"
"Did you like the cartoons you watched when you were little?" Xiao Long asked, tilting his head, as if talking to himself or asking Zhou Tianyi.
"Haha, of course it's good! I guarantee you'll love it after you see it." Zhou Tianyi revealed a mysterious smile.
"What cartoon is it?" the children asked in unison, their faces revealing undisguised curiosity.
"Keep it a secret."
While the children were engrossed in watching the cartoon, Zhou Tianyi and An Yutang secretly slipped out.
The two walked hand in hand down the street, their long shadows cast by the moonlight.
"You actually let them watch The Legend of the Condor Heroes. I bet Xiaolong will cause some trouble later."
An Yutang found it amusing to recall how Xiaolong initially looked disdainful but later became engrossed in watching.
"There's nothing we can do, they're our classmates, at least they're much better looking than Xiongxiong and Zhuzhu," Zhou Tianyi said, shrugging.
"Hey, by the way, shall we go out and have some fun during New Year's Day?"
As they walked, Zhou Tianyi suddenly spoke.
"Go out to play? Where to play? What to play?" An Yutang asked several questions curiously.
"My God, how come I never realized you were so good at asking questions?" Zhou Tianyi said with a look of surprise.
"Hmph, that's because you didn't observe carefully. Now you know it's too late; you're already mine," An Yutang said smugly.
"You still haven't told me where we're going to have fun."
Zhou Tian smiled and said, "I'll take you to Old Chen's concert."
"Concert?"
This time it was An Yutang's turn to be surprised; she had never heard of this news online.
"That's right, Old Chen told me himself that he's planning to hold a New Year's Eve concert. What's up?"
Zhou Tianyi noticed that An Yutang's expression was off, so he asked her.
"Old Chen is really good at hiding things. There's not a single word about him online. He only told you but not me."
An Yutang gritted her teeth and said.
"Haha, I'm not telling you now. When we meet, I'll give him a good beating."
Upon hearing this, Zhou Tian burst into laughter.
"If we just leave like this, what will happen to Sister Qing and the others?"
Suddenly, An Yutang said this.
"I've already spoken to Sister Qing, and she's really looking forward to me taking you on your honeymoon."
"What honeymoon? It's...it's a pre-wedding concert."
Upon hearing this, An Yutang stammered.
Seeing An Yutang blush, Zhou Tianyi couldn't hold back any longer. He hugged her tightly, put his mouth to hers, and they started kissing.
...
The Four Great Vajras.
"New Year's Day is just around the corner, and I just want to know if you have a holiday?" Manager Zhou asked, popping up in the chat.
"A three-day holiday for New Year's Day? Isn't that the same all over the country?" Jue Lun exclaimed in surprise.
"Young man, I really hope you get a taste of the harsh realities of life. I get three days off for New Year's Day, but I get one day off in lieu of my usual workday."
Zhang San replied resentfully.
"Haha, I'm different. I get a day off every day. I'm so happy," Liu Wei boasted.
"It seems I'm the worst off. I'll only get double pay for working overtime on New Year's Day," Manager Zhou said dejectedly.
“Jue Lun, where are you going for New Year’s Day?” Liu Wei asked.
"Going to find some girls, wanna come along?" The girls Jue Lun was referring to were Xia Youyou and Nie Qiuqin.
"Forget it then. The girl doesn't care about me. If I go, I'll just be a third wheel, burning my body to light up your happiness." Liu Wei quickly refused.
"That's such a pity. It seems I'll be the only one enjoying this happy time." Jue Lun said with a hint of schadenfreude.
“Ignore Jue Lun, Awei, let’s go to the concert.” Zhang San said at this moment.
"What concert?" the three asked, puzzled.
“It’s Dr. Chen’s concert,” Zhang San replied.
Upon seeing this, the three quickly opened Dr. Chen's Weibo account and discovered that he had just posted an update announcing his upcoming concert.
"Damn it, say something like this earlier next time, you're delaying my efforts to buy concert tickets," Jue Lun cursed.
"Weren't you going to go with the girl?" Liu Wei said with a wicked grin.
