Chapter 188 Is she planning to have an affair? Mrs. Zhuang!

Cheng Liqing's eyes widened slightly.

Now it was his turn to be surprised; he clearly hadn't expected things to turn out this way.

But he quickly realized what he meant and said with a smile, "So we're both in the same boat now?"

Qu He was amused by him, and the coolness brought by the night breeze seemed to lessen a bit: "I guess so."

"It's windy at night, you should go upstairs quickly, lest you catch a cold."

Cheng Liqing pulled up the collar of his trench coat. "I'll call my mom in a bit and tell her to stop messing around and go home. She shouldn't bother her uncle and aunt anymore."

Qu He nodded, feeling a warm feeling in her heart: "Okay, goodbye then."

She waved and turned to go upstairs.

"Quhe,"

Cheng Liqing suddenly called out to her, his tone serious, "Marriage requires both people to work together, and conflicts are inevitable. Don't give up easily. I hope we can both have a bright future."

Qu He stopped in her tracks, feeling a warm sensation in her heart, as if something had gently bumped into her.

She turned to look at Cheng Liqing and smiled, "You too."

She watched Cheng Liqing walk towards the entrance of the residential area as he took out his phone to make a call, until he disappeared around the corner.

A gust of cold wind blew by, and she instinctively hugged her arms, shivered her shoulders, and turned to go upstairs.

Just as she turned around, a hand reached out from behind and grabbed her wrist.

Caught off guard, she stumbled and bumped into the person behind her.

"ah!"

Qu He cried out in fright, instinctively struggling, elbowing backward, frantically trying to push away the person behind her.

But the moment he smelled that familiar cedar scent, he stopped instantly, and his body almost instinctively relaxed.

Seeing that she had stopped struggling, Zhuang Bieyan tightened his arms around her, holding her firmly in his embrace.

His warm breath fell on the crook of her neck.

With his other hand, he gripped her chin, forcing her to turn her head slightly to the side.

The next second, he lowered his head and kissed her lips.

The kiss was full of predation, fiery and entangled, as if it were venting some long-suppressed emotion, as if it wanted to take away even her last breath.

Qu He was so dizzy from the kisses that her limbs went weak and she almost suffocated.

With great difficulty, he stepped back a little and finally got a chance to catch his breath.

Qu He's cheeks were flushed and her eyes were glistening with tears. Before she could speak, Zhuang Bieyan picked her up and carried her on his shoulder.

"Zhuang Bieyan! What are you doing! Put me down!"

Qu He exclaimed in surprise, but dared not make a loud sound, and could only pound his back.

This is downstairs in the residential complex!

Zhuang Bieyan ignored him and strode over to the Rolls-Royce parked in the shadows not far away.

He opened the passenger door, shoved her inside, and slammed the door shut.

The fact that the car's heater was on indicated that he had been staying there for quite some time.

Qu He sat up in a panic and looked out the car window. From this angle, she could see perfectly clearly where she and Cheng Liqing had stood saying goodbye!

Has he been here all along?

Has he come back? Or did he never leave?

The car was dark, with only the sparse streetlights filtering in from the windows, casting a dim and ambiguous glow.

Zhuang Bieyan reclined his chair, and his figure loomed over him.

Unlike before, his movements became unusually slow and gentle.

He didn't kiss her immediately, but instead gently pecked at her earlobe, then slowly moved to the corner of her lips.

Each peck was accompanied by a jealous and dangerous question.

"So you were having dinner with that man tonight?" His lips brushed against her earlobe, his breath hot.

Qu He tried to turn her head away, but he grabbed the back of her neck and she couldn't move.

His kiss moved to her chin, gently nibbling: "You two had a good chat?"

His tone rose, carrying an undisguised sourness.

He pressed his lips to her neck, feeling her quickened pulse: "Have you eaten the groceries I bought? Were they good?"

Finally, their noses touched, and their breaths mingled.

He gently lifted her chin, forcing her to look directly at him.

"Um?"

His Adam's apple bobbed. "You even escorted him downstairs, and saw you two chatting and laughing. Are you planning to have an affair, Mrs. Zhuang?"

He uttered the last three words almost touching her lips, each one deliberate and distinct.

The streetlights shone sparsely through the car windows and the bushes.

Qu He could clearly see his eyes, the emotions surging within his amber pupils.

Jealousy, resentment, and unease are like the surface of the sea before a storm—dangerous yet alluring.

At this moment, she actually felt that Zhuang Bieyan in front of her was somewhat similar to the Zhuang Bieyan before he lost his memory.

At that time, he was possessive and extremely jealous, but sometimes he would show his vulnerable side in front of her.

He looked at the silent Qu He beneath him, his eyes darkening, and clicked his tongue in annoyance.

He reached for the storage cabinet below, seemingly wanting to take something, but stopped abruptly and withdrew his hand when it touched the cabinet door.

Qu He looked thoughtfully at his abrupt action and the hand he had halfway outstretched before withdrawing it.

She met his gaze and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Zhuang Bieyan turned his head, his eyes sparkling.

He laughed in exasperation: "I asked you so many questions, and you didn't answer a single one? Instead, you're asking me questions in return?"

But he answered immediately, his voice low and resentful, like a husband who had been neglected by his wife and was left alone in an empty room when he caught her cheating.

"I've never left."

He sounded like he was making an accusation.

“I haven’t left since I put you in the elevator.” He leaned forward again, trapping her between the seat and his chest.

“I watched you go upstairs, watched that man go in with you. And I, sitting in the car, waited, hoping that maybe you would remember me when I was abandoned, or maybe you would call me.”

"Then, I saw you seeing him off. You two stood there talking for so long. What did he say to you? Why were you so happy? Was Zhou Shi'an not enough, and now there's another one?"

With each question he asked, he moved a little closer, making Qu He almost breathless.

"Ahe, tell me, in your heart, do you also feel that only someone like him has a future? And am I, your husband who has amnesia and can't even get into our own home, already out of the picture?"

The car's heater was blowing hard, but it couldn't dispel the strong smell of jealousy.

Qu He raised her hand, but instead of pushing him away, she pressed it against his chest and felt his rapidly beating heart.

“Farewell Banquet”

She finally spoke, "You're asking so many questions at once, which one do you want me to answer first?"

Her reaction seemed to have surprised him.

There was no angry rebuttal as expected, nor a cold avoidance, but rather a tone tinged with helplessness, and even a hint of indulgence.

Zhuang Bieyan's gaze froze for a moment.

"Then answer the last one."

He stubbornly repeated the question, but his tone carried a hint of nervousness, "Am I... already out of the game?"

In the dim light, their breaths mingled and their gazes entwined.

Outside the car, the autumn night was quiet; inside, a silent confrontation was building in tension.

Qu He looked at him, at this man who, even with amnesia, would still be consumed by jealousy if she spoke a few words to other men, and her heart was struck.

Her hand, pressed against his chest, tightened slightly, gripping his coat.

What if I said yes?
