Chapter 85 A Chance Encounter! Qu He's Husband is Zhuang Bieyan
Qu He walked out of the private room and took the elevator downstairs.
As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, I saw a familiar figure flash past the corner of the corridor not far away, and then get into the elevator opposite.
She immediately followed him, and after seeing him enter the private room, she pushed the door open and went in without hesitation.
Inside, the room was filled with smoke. Qian Zhaoye sat in the center of the main sofa, legs crossed, chatting and laughing.
Her sudden intrusion silenced the noisy private room instantly, and all eyes were on her.
When Qian Zhaoye saw that it was her, a look of surprise flashed across his face, but it quickly turned into delight. "Ahe? What brings you here?"
When the men nearby saw that it was a woman who had entered, they began to make suggestive noises.
Qu He glanced at the malicious gazes around her, her face darkening.
Qian Zhaoye's face darkened as he waved to the others, "Everyone, please go out for a bit. I have some personal matters to attend to."
After everyone left with smiles on their faces, the door to the private room closed, leaving only the two of them.
The air was terribly oppressive.
Qu He cut to the chase, "Qian Zhaoye, let me ask you, back then, was it you who impersonated me to refuse Master Qi Mo's invitation email for studying abroad, and then deleted it?"
Qian Zhaoye's expression froze. "Ahe, what's wrong with you today? When was that?"
His eyes darted around nervously, "Where did you hear all this gossip? It's been so many years, why bring it up again? We were such good friends back then, how could I possibly do something like that..."
As he spoke, he tried to step forward, as if reminiscing about the past.
Qu He loudly stopped him: "Look at me and answer!"
Qian Zhaoye denied it, saying, "How could I do such a thing? You were still hesitant at the time, but I always supported you. Later, when you weren't selected, I even comforted you. Forgot?"
Oh!
They still lie so shamelessly.
Qu He took two steps forward and shoved a screenshot of the email on her phone into his face. "You didn't do this?!"
With the irrefutable evidence before him, Qian Zhaoye's expression changed instantly.
A flicker of panic crossed his eyes. "Where did this come from? I clearly..."
He stopped halfway through his sentence, but it was too late...
Qu He: "So you admit it, right! Chen Li told me everything, she gave you the invitation, but you never told me about it! You even treated everyone to dinner and told them not to mention it in front of me, how could you be so shameless!"
"Shameless?"
Qian Zhaoye's expression completely changed. "Yes! So what if I did it?!"
He practically yelled, "But who am I doing this for? I'm doing all this for your own good! Qu He, don't be ungrateful! England is so far away, do you really think Qi Mo can just take you? He's just making empty promises, and you actually believed him? I'm not letting you go to protect you!"
"Protect me?"
As if she had heard the biggest joke in the world, Qu He's tears welled up instantly. "What right do you have to make decisions for me? That's my dream. You know how much effort I put into getting that spot! What right do you have to refuse it for me?"
"Can dreams put food on the table? You go to England? You think you'll succeed there? You think you'll become an art master? You're dreaming! You just have a little more talent than the average person! Let me tell you, the world has no shortage of talented people!"
He took a step closer, his words full of disdain: "Success isn't about talent, it's about resources, connections, and capital! You go there, all alone, unable to speak the language, and with hardly any money in your pocket. What kind of success can you possibly achieve? In the end, you'll just come back looking pathetic!"
His words were full of denigration and negativity; he used the most vicious language to prove how "correct" his initial decision was.
"Staying by my side is the wisest choice you could ever make! I can give you a stable life and a respectable status. Isn't that a hundred times better than chasing that unrealistic dream? I'm just worried about you suffering and being deceived! I love you all the time! Why can't you understand my good intentions?"
Hearing his distorted and untrue words, Qu He was so angry that she trembled all over. She raised her hand and slapped him hard with all her might.
"Smack!"
The crisp sound of a slap echoed in the private room.
A clear five-finger mark instantly appeared on Qian Zhaoye's face. He covered his face, his eyes turning gloomy and terrifying.
"You have no right! Qian Zhaoye!" Qu He shouted.
"You have no right to decide my life for me! You ruined seven years of my youth, and you also ruined my dreams! You kept me by your side for seven years, making me your slave, all to satisfy your pathetic desire for control! You disgust me!"
"I have no right?" Qian Zhaoye covered his face and sneered.
"So your husband who runs a run-down flower shop has the right to do that? Do you really think you can climb the social ladder after leaving me? What can he give you besides a bunch of lousy flowers? Do you think that working with a flower shop owner will make him understand your silly hobby? It's just something new and exciting. Can he give you a good life?"
"Let me tell you, Quhe, a woman like you is nothing without a man! You'll never amount to anything! You're just a piece of trash! Not going to England back then was the luckiest thing that ever happened to you, otherwise you'd probably be picking through trash somewhere by now!"
"Qian Zhaoye, you bastard!"
All the pent-up grievances of the past seven years finally erupted at this moment, and she grabbed a nearby wine bottle and smashed it at him.
Her chest heaved violently, and she could hardly breathe.
Enraged by her sudden attack, Qian Zhaoye stepped forward and grabbed her hand.
Qu He struggled free, stumbled and bumped into the high chair behind her, a dull pain shooting through her lower back.
"You'll get your comeuppance, Qian Zhaoye! You'll pay for this!"
She didn't want to hear another word from this madman, so she turned around, opened the door, and rushed out.
Qu He was completely dizzy and didn't look where she was going. Before she could take two steps, she bumped headfirst into a solid chest.
The familiar scent of cedar enveloped her. She looked up, her tear-blurred vision meeting a pair of cold, amber eyes.
It's a farewell banquet for the estate...
Five minutes ago.
The VIP suite on the top floor of the Zunyue Hotel.
Yu Shan pushed open the door and immediately saw Zhuang Bieyan sitting in the center of the sofa, while Ling Huo next to him was wailing into a microphone.
He clicked his tongue, poured himself a glass of wine, and leaned closer to Zhuang Bieyan: "Where's your wife? She hasn't come up yet?"
Zhuang Bieyan looked at his phone, his brows furrowing slightly: "She said she went shopping with Si Yue."
"shop?"
Yu Shan raised an exaggerated eyebrow. "Then was that woman I saw in the lobby on the first floor who looked exactly like her a ghost? My eyesight isn't that bad, is it?"
Zhuang Bieyan suddenly looked up. "What did you say?"
Qu He was surprised to run into Zhuang Bieyan here. "You... how did you get here...?"
As she spoke, she heard a noise behind her.
Qian Zhaoye came out, pulling at his tie.
