Zhou Tao suddenly looked up and asked him in a clear voice, "Didn't your two families ever think about becoming in-laws? My sister-in-law and you seem to be a good match in terms of age!"
"What's so appropriate about it? Our family and her family have never liked each other, okay? If it weren't for your second brother's marriage, I wouldn't have come to the Xu family's door," Lu Qian said calmly.
"Oh!" Zhou Tao raised an eyebrow at him, then lowered her head and continued eating.
"Actually, you're quite unlucky. My second sister-in-law is such a good girl, yet she ended up with my second brother. In fact, your two families are a perfect match!" Zhou Tao said with a smile.
Lu Qian felt a chill run down his spine when he heard Zhou Tao's words. He silently looked at the young girl, wondering if she truly didn't understand his heart, or if she was testing him.
Feeling somewhat uncomfortable, Lu Qian steeled his resolve and decided to take drastic measures.
He said softly, "Even if our two families are on good terms, I still wouldn't like someone like her."
Zhou Tao glanced at him and subconsciously asked, "So what kind of person do you like?"
“Someone like you!” Lu Qian said softly.
"Cough cough cough!" Zhou Tao was caught off guard by his words and choked on a mouthful of chili pepper, coughing violently.
Lu Qian panicked when he saw this, so he quickly stood up and went over to pat her back, saying helplessly, "Eat slowly, and drink some water to calm your nerves."
Zhou Tao was so frightened that she quickly pushed away his hand that was patting her back. She glanced at him in fear, then backed away. She took the tea he offered and gulped it down, saying quickly, "Brother Lu, don't scare me, I'm scared!"
