Chapter 5 Are you hungry?

As for her own brother, she had already automatically ignored him. At this moment, all she could remember was her sister-in-law smiling at her and calling her Tao'er.

After Zhou Tao went out, she was startled by the group of people waiting outside the door.

She was pulled to a corner, a little further away from the divorce room.

"Xiao Tao, what do you think of your sister-in-law?"

"Yes, second sister, is eldest sister-in-law pretty?" the youngest, Xiao Lei, asked curiously.

Zhao slapped her son's head and said disdainfully, "You brat who peels the skin off his bun before eating it, what do you care about a pretty wife? A good temperament is the most important thing."

After scolding her son, Zhao looked at her daughter and asked expectantly, "Xiao Tao, is your sister-in-law happy? Does she look disgusted with your brother?"

"Auntie, does my bride look like she'll hit the child?" the little dumpling in Old Man Zhou's arms asked in a childish voice.

Zhou Tao was overwhelmed by the questions from her family, so she quickly waved her hand and said, "My sister-in-law is very nice. She even smiled at me and called me Tao'er. She speaks softly to my brother. Moreover, my sister-in-law is very beautiful, even more beautiful than the best chrysanthemum in our village."

"Also, Zhuzhu, that's your father's bride, not yours. You should call her 'Mom.' Don't worry, your mom seems to have a good temperament and won't hit the child."

"Wow, that means my sister-in-law is even prettier than my brother!" Xiao Lei was satisfied.

"So it seems your sister-in-law is indeed a good person." Zhao was content.

"Wow, that's great, Grandma! I want to sleep with Mom and Dad tonight," Zhuzhu said happily.

Old Man Zhou and his second son, Zhou Lin, stood behind them, unable to get a word in edgewise, so they just kept nodding. It seemed that it was indeed a good thing.

“But Mother, my sister-in-law looks like she was hastily put on the sedan chair. Her clothes are old and patched, and no one combed her hair. Her face is also a bit dirty. She looks rather pitiful.” Zhou Tao pouted, thinking of her sister-in-law’s appearance, and whispered to her mother.

Upon hearing this, Zhao felt a pang of sadness and whispered, "I noticed back then that her clothes were a bit old. Xiao Tao, do you still have a piece of fine cotton fabric with a peach-pink floral pattern in your closet? Stay up a little later tonight and make a dress for your sister-in-law with me, so she'll have something to wear tomorrow."

"Next time your second brother goes to town, I'll have him buy you another piece of fabric, okay?"
