Chapter 78 Pearl is stolen and thrown into the mountains to be fed to wolves

"Zhuzhu!" Li Mai called out loudly several times after going outside the gate, but did not receive a response from Zhuzhu.

"Zhuzhu, Zhuzhu!" Li Mai quickly ran to the various intersections outside the gate, trying to see if there was anyone there and ask them.

It just so happens that it's time to cook, and there's not a soul in sight outside.

"No, we can't rush this!" Li Mai ran back to the gate to look for Zhu Zhu's little footprints.

No, there were no children's footprints, only adults' footprints.

With no other option, Li Mai could only leap onto the surrounding trees and look around.

Then, she saw a figure carrying a sack heading north up the mountain.

Regardless of whether it is true or not, let's catch up first.

Li Mai jumped off the ground and chased after it in that direction.

It's a pity she doesn't know the light-footed skills of this era, otherwise she could be even faster.

Fortunately, she was fast enough that when she reached the top of the mountain, she saw the figure heading into the woods. She quickly and quietly followed from another direction, hiding behind a tree to see if the person had a child in their sack.

If not, she would leave quietly without disturbing the other party.

Finally, the man stopped in an open space, looked around, put down the sack, untied it, and emptied its contents.

Li Mai's face darkened. It really was Zhu Zhu.

court death!

It looks like Zhuzhu has fainted!

The man threw down the sack and tried to squat down to touch Zhuzhu's face, but Li Mai picked up a stick, rushed over, and smacked him hard on the back of the head.

The person felt a sharp pain and turned around instantly. A wave of dizziness washed over him, and before he could even see who was behind him, he collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

Damn dog!

Li Mai stepped forward and kicked the man hard in several vital areas, hoping to cripple the bastard.

If she weren't afraid of the trouble that killing someone would bring to her family, she would have killed the man directly.

However, we can't kill him yet; we need to find out who he is and what his purpose is!

Taking advantage of the man's unconsciousness, Li Mai stuffed him into a sack and tied it tightly before letting out a sigh of relief. She then quickly went over and picked up Zhu Zhu.

"Zhuzhu!" she called softly as she pinched her Hegu acupoint with her fingernails.

After pinching the Hegu acupoint for a while without waking up, Li Mai could only pinch the Renzhong acupoint.

"Mother!" Zhuzhu finally woke up. As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Limai and was so frightened that she hugged her tightly and cried.

"Alright, Zhuzhu, it's alright now. Mother has caught the bad guy and put him in this sack. Zhuzhu, you can get revenge yourself." With that, Li Mai kicked the sack hard.

Zhuzhu turned her head and looked around, wiping away her tears. Her eyes were still red. After kicking the sack twice, she seemed less afraid and grabbed Limai's hand, saying, "Mom, let's go home!"

"Okay, why did Zhuzhu walk out of the gate? Didn't your mother tell you not to go out?" Li Mai held Zhuzhu's hand with one hand and dragged the sack with the other, walking down the mountain.

"I heard a cat meowing, but when I went outside, someone covered my mouth with a handkerchief. I smelled a fragrance, but then I don't know what happened." Zhuzhu now realizes she has been tricked and is filled with regret.

Li Mai was also frightened after hearing this. "Zhuzhu, you must never leave your mother's side too far away by yourself in the future, and you must never go outside the gate alone."

"Zhuzhu will remember this!" Zhuzhu murmured in response, knowing that this lesson would stay with her for the rest of her life.

Halfway there, they encountered Old Man Zhou and Zhou Lei, who had been chasing after them.

"Xiaomai, is Zhuzhu alright?" Old Man Zhou's face turned pale. He had just returned home when he saw Zhou Quan crawling at the door, which scared them to death. When they asked, they found out that Zhuzhu was missing and Limai had chased after her.

The father and son quickly ran outside and ran into Lin Cai's wife, who said she heard Li Mai calling for Zhu Zhu, as if she had run towards the back mountain, so they chased after her.

"It's alright, I caught up in time, Dad. I knocked out the person who stole Zhuzhu and put them in this sack. Let's go back to the yard first, then you can open it and see who it is. I don't know them either." She didn't know many people in the village, only the few families living near her home.

Old Man Zhou took the sack and continued dragging it, and the family returned to the courtyard.

Seeing Zhou Quan sitting at the gate in the courtyard, Li Mai sighed inwardly; he must be terrified.

She led Zhuzhu to him and squatted down. "It's okay. Zhuzhu was just released from the sack by the other party. I recognized her and knocked the other party unconscious."

"It's good that you're alright!" Zhou Quan said, holding Zhuzhu's hand and choking back tears.

He didn't dare to think about what he would do if something happened to Zhuzhu.

"Daddy, Zhuzhu is alright!" Zhuzhu rushed over and hugged Zhou Quan, but then burst into tears. She was genuinely startled.

Zhou Tao and Zhao Shi also came over at this time, surrounded Zhou Quan, and gently touched Zhuzhu. They sighed and were relieved that everything was alright!

Old Man Zhou and Zhou Lei had already released the person from the sack. The person had probably woken up because of the jolting. As soon as he was poured out of the sack, he shrank back in fright and looked up to meet Old Man Zhou's gaze.

"Who are you?" Old Man Zhou didn't recognize the man.

"I am nobody, you've arrested the wrong person!" After saying that, the man stood up and tried to run out the door.

Unfortunately, Li Mai had already been on guard when he saw the person being poured out. Before he could run two steps, the bamboo pole in Li Mai's hand flew out and struck him directly on the back of the head.

Awooo...

The man cried out in pain and collapsed onto the scallion patch by the gate.

Li Mai rushed over and unleashed a flurry of kicks on his back, waist, and calves.
