Chapter 292 The Dragon Emperor's Birthday

After entering the holy city, Sophia curiously observed the various scenes on the streets.

Xu Fan asked with a smile, "Do you like these things?"

Sophia shook her head: "I'm just a little curious because I've never seen it before."

"Then feel free to look around."

After spending half a day showing Sophia around the Holy City, Xu Fan, following the previous experience, first found a hotel in the Holy City to stay in the afternoon.

The next morning, they went into the streets to inquire about the Dragon Emperor's birthday.

The holy city is now brightly decorated, as if it were about to welcome a grand festival of the dragon race.

"You mean the Dragon Emperor's birthday celebration will be held in the square in the Holy City?"

The middle-aged man in front of him, slightly intoxicated, sized up Xu Fan: "Never been to the Holy City before, have you?"

Xu Fan said with a smile, "I've never been here before. I brought my younger sister here to broaden her horizons."

The man nodded knowingly: "On your birthday, the Dragon Emperor will meet with all the dragons in the square. He might even want to speak with you then."

Xu Fan smiled and thanked him, then turned and left, but his mind began to wander.

Since the resurrection of the dragon spirits has not yet occurred, it will most likely have to wait until the Dragon Emperor's birthday. At that time, Ye Ling and the others should jump out, right?

Three days passed in the city, and soon it was the Dragon Emperor's birthday.

Xu Fan and Sophia blended in seamlessly into the crowd.

As the square swelled with people, the ministers of the Dragon Clan appeared one by one. The chief guard, Shelby, vigilantly surveyed the onlookers, striving to eliminate any potential security risks.

Another half hour passed, and just as Xu Fan was getting impatient, a dark golden throne appeared out of thin air in mid-air.

Is the Dragon Emperor coming?

However, at that moment, something unusual suddenly happened in the arena.

An old man standing not far from the throne suddenly stood up out of thin air.

Shelby's face darkened further: "William, what are you going to do?"

William chuckled and said, "Of course, we are waiting for the arrival of my Emperor."

Shelby's tone became even more displeased, as if he were issuing a solemn warning: "This is the Dragon Emperor's birthday."

William smiled apologetically at Shelby: "I'm sorry, but I've been wondering about this for too long, so there are a few questions that I need the Dragon Emperor to explain to me."

Shelby stepped forward, his longsword about to be drawn from its sheath.

Just then, a magnificent robe appeared in the air, and then a middle-aged man slowly sat on the throne.

“Shelby, it’s alright, let William ask whatever he wants.”

Shelby bowed helplessly and took two steps back.

At this moment, Xu Fan suddenly noticed that Sophia's grip on his hand tightened a little.

Is she nervous?

Xu Fan glanced at Sophia, who was staring intently at the Dragon Emperor and the others, and said softly, "Sophia, don't worry, I'm here."

While still in mid-air, William had already asked the first question:

"Your Majesty, why did Alexander leave the Dragon Clan in the first place?"

The Dragon Emperor sighed: "Wasn't this problem settled two hundred years ago?"

"As the chief guard, Alexander not only failed to protect the Dragon Palace, but also secretly deserted."

“Defection?” A hint of mockery appeared on William’s weathered face. “But I don’t understand why Alexander would defect.”

The Dragon Emperor said calmly, "If Lord William is curious, you can go and ask Alexander."

"What I am saying now is what Alexander told me."

William said firmly, "He told me that he saw something he shouldn't have seen in the Dragon Palace and was almost killed by you!"

As William finished speaking, a gasp of surprise erupted from the crowd gathered in the square.

The dragon ministers below the throne remained silent, but each wore a different expression, clearly pondering the matter.

"You have all been inside the Dragon Palace," the Dragon Emperor said slowly, gazing at his many subordinates before him.

"Do you think there's anything in the Dragon Palace that can't be taken out?"

Upon hearing the Dragon Emperor's words, the dragon ministers displayed a variety of expressions, clearly unsure of what to do.

William said seriously, "Then why don't you explain to us why the remains of the dragon ancestors have been getting smaller over the years?"

Upon hearing the topic of their ancestors, even the common people gathered in the square couldn't help but look up at the Dragon Emperor.

"They died for the dragon race. If they could contribute to the dragon race again after death, I think they would be willing to do so."

William looked at the Dragon Emperor with disgust: "But don't you think this is too despicable?"

"Despicable?" The Dragon Emperor smiled calmly: "As the emperor of the dragon race, all I need to consider is how to ensure the survival of the dragon race, how to keep the dragon race alive!"

"Clap clap clap clap".

Suddenly, applause rang out from outside the square: "Such eloquence is truly worthy of the Dragon Emperor."

The dragons in the square turned around and saw several members of the William family striding towards the square, with several human figures standing with them.

The Dragon Emperor sighed, "William, I never imagined that the person who helped Alexander leave back then would be you!"

William sighed helplessly: "Although Alexander and I have always been at odds, what do personal grudges matter in the face of the entire dragon race?"

The Dragon Emperor smiled calmly: "So you've colluded with humans to resurrect our ancestors in the Dragon Bone Desert?"

“That’s right,” William nodded. “Since the Dragon Emperor is no longer able to lead the entire dragon race forward, why not let our great ancestor lead us forward?”

The Dragon Emperor shook his head and chuckled: "So many years have passed, William, and you are still so naive. It really disappoints me."

Disappointed? Perhaps.

William glanced at the Dragon Emperor, seemingly unsure of what to say, before slowly descending from mid-air and bowing deeply to a figure.

Everyone followed William's gaze, but they were all taken aback when they saw the old man exuding an ancient aura.

The Dragon Emperor, who had been sitting on the throne, slowly stood up:

"You are, Pete?"

The old man smiled at the Dragon Emperor and took a deep breath: "I never thought that I would see the light of day again."

"This feeling is something I really miss."

Old Pete looked at the Dragon Emperor: "Compared to the Dragon Emperor of yesteryear, you are still far from being good enough."

As he spoke, an immense and unparalleled power instantly emanated from his body, blotting out the sky and the sun.
