When Xu Fan first entered the room, he did sense that something was wrong.
However, this feeling did not originate from the room itself, but from the shadows.
He noticed that his shadow was a different color than the shadows of the other furniture.
Generally speaking, the weaker the light source, the lighter the shadow should be.
But his own shadow was unusually darker than the others.
There was no strong light source nearby.
The result is obvious.
There is something in my own shadow.
We are living in an age of resurgence of terror, where anything, even the strangest things, can happen.
It became normal for mysterious creatures to enter one's shadow.
To lull the other party into a false sense of security, Xu Fan deliberately paced around the room a few more times.
Take advantage of the moment when you turn your body in the same direction as your shadow.
Xu Fan swiftly and decisively grabbed the sixth man.
Shadow Wolf never expected that he would be discovered.
As an excellent detective and assassin, it was confident enough to perfectly conceal itself.
Little did it know that Xu Fan hadn't actually identified it by its aura.
Instead, we find its existence by observing the anomalies in the depth of the shadow's color.
"Tell me, who sent you?"
Xu Fan released the Shadow Wolf's throat and gripped its head tightly with one hand.
With just a little effort from Xu Fan's five fingers, he could easily unscrew the Shadow Wolf's skull like a bottle cap.
The shadow wolf immediately chickened out.
"Big brother, big brother, I was wrong."
"At least you know what's good for you. I'm asking you, who sent you?"
Shadow Wolf blurted out, "It's the village chief. The village chief sent me."
"Who is the village chief?"
"The village chief is the village chief, who else could he be?"
Xu Fan increased the pressure on his hand, causing the Shadow Wolf to howl in pain.
"I was wrong, I was wrong, please don't hit me."
Shadow Wolf simply couldn't bear the excruciating pain.
He immediately began to beg for mercy.
"I'm warning you, if I see you trying any more tricks, I won't hold back anymore."
The shadow wolf immediately raised its front paws and swore an oath to the heavens.
"I won't dare to do it again, I'll never dare to do it again."
Xu Fan relaxed his hand slightly.
"Who is the village chief? Where does he live?"
Shadow Wolf immediately replied, "Our village chief is the Wolf King with Broken Tooth. His residence is also very obvious. Next to the ancestral hall in the center of the village, there are two rows of neat brick and tile houses, a total of eight rooms, seven of which belong to the village chief."
However, I'm not entirely sure which room he stayed in.
"Seven rooms? Whose is the last room?"
"He seems to be a Taoist priest. He came to our village five years ago and forcibly occupied one of the village chief's rooms. He still lives there to this day."
A Taoist priest? How could there be a Taoist priest in the village?
Xu Fan's mind was a complete mess.
He could only continue to press Shadow Wolf for answers.
"What is your purpose in infiltrating my shadow?"
Shadow Wolf hesitated for a moment, then Xu Fan increased the pressure on his hands.
"Ouch, ouch, ouch! I'll tell you, I'll tell you. The village chief sent me to monitor you. He said the aura emanating from you is different from that of other people, so he needs to take special care of you."
Report any unusual activity to him immediately.
Shadow Wolf trembled violently, fearing that if he confessed everything, Xu Fan would kill him to silence him.
To Shadow Wolf's surprise, Xu Fan immediately let go and released Shadow Wolf.
Even Shadow Wolf found it somewhat unbelievable.
You're just going to let me go like that?
"Or what? I could kill you, then alert the enemy and have your village chief send another expert over?"
Xu Fan brought his face close to the shadow wolf, which had shrunk into a ball.
"Instead of going to great lengths to deal with a master, I'd rather tolerate an idiot by my side. I trust you'll keep my secret."
Shadow Wolves aren't very intelligent.
Why are you so sure?
Xu Fan spread his hands and said, "Of course. If your village chief knew that you not only failed to complete the task he assigned, but also told me all the information about the village chief."
If you were the village chief, what would you do?
Xu Fan gave a thumbs-up and made a throat-slitting gesture.
"Kill the wolf to silence it!"
Shadow Wolf swallowed hard and merged back into Xu Fan's shadow.
Xu Fan was very satisfied with what he saw.
Silly wolves are so easy to fool~
Xu Fan immediately lay down on the bed, waiting for information from the multi-faceted beast.
Xu Fan remained on edge the entire way, feeling as if he were walking on thin ice.
Keep his mind in a state of heightened sensitivity.
He would go all out at the slightest sign of trouble.
Now is a rare time to rest, so let him steal a moment of leisure from his busy schedule.
Unfortunately, he didn't get much rest.
The threads that the Ditto had transformed into had already appeared at the door of Xu Fan's room.
He made an OK sign towards Xu Fan, who was lying on the bed.
Xu Fan sighed and immediately sat up in bed.
Following behind the Ditto, they quietly went downstairs.
Everyone else had already rested, but Xu Fan was still working to ensure their safety.
The threads that the Ditto transformed into burrowed into a storage room.
Xu Fan looked around and followed them into the storage room.
The contents inside were very messy, and almost everything had been knocked over.
In the middle of the storage room, the guesthouse owner was tightly bound and writhing restlessly on the floor.
