Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and Xu Fan slowly disappeared from the spot.
When Xu Fan opened his eyes again, he found himself in a Buddhist hall.
He was surrounded by scrolls of ancient Buddhist scriptures. In front of him was a small desk with Xuan paper, a paperweight, a brush, ink, and an open Buddhist scripture.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva removed the halo behind him and sat down opposite Xu Fan.
This is his private space, where he usually copies scriptures and recites them.
"Sit here for a while. Once all the people you brought have entered the cycle of reincarnation and passed away, you can leave."
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva only gave one explanation.
He then picked up a brush and quietly copied Buddhist scriptures.
Xu Fan stood up immediately.
"I want to get out!"
What are you going out for?
While copying Buddhist scriptures, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva casually struck up a conversation.
"I have a mission to complete outside."
"You'll die. I don't want to meet you on the other side so soon."
"No, I'm very resilient."
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva then put down his pen and gave Xu Fan a deep look.
"Bearing good fortune, not bad."
It's a pity that the world is so turbulent these days; otherwise, you would surely have achieved great things.
Xu Fan patted his chest.
"My fate is in my own hands, not in the heavens. Of course, I should take control of my own destiny."
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva didn't say anything, but when copying Buddhist scriptures, he made a mistake in copying a single character.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva quickly erased the incorrectly copied parts with ink.
"My sins, my sins, it seems my heart is still not at peace."
Xu Fan was about to say something when he received two messages from the system.
[Congratulations, host, on completing the 44th Ward mission: With a Taoist body and a Buddhist heart, take the spirits of your fellow dead from Ward 44 to unlock the side quest "Sealed Gate Village," and cast the spirits of your fellow dead into the Reincarnation Well to help them pass on to the afterlife.]
Unlock the Destiny Dungeon: Buddha is the Way!
Rewards: Divine Artifact: Taoist Classic Tongtian Lu + Buddhist Classic: Mahavairocana Heart Sutra.
[Congratulations, host, on completing the Mysterious Location mission: Conquer all tasks in Ward 44.]
Reward: C-grade Mysterious Weapon - Mirror of Spirit Communication.
The system indicates that the task has been completed.
The situation is extremely urgent; the system hasn't even given Xu Fan the opportunity to choose whether or not to claim it.
Two ancient books with yellowed pages and a breastplate appeared in Xu Fan's hands.
He was just about to put the reward he received into his backpack.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was already standing in front of Xu Fan.
"What are you doing? What do you want to do, getting so close to me?"
Xu Fan saw the four characters "malicious intent" on the face of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva stared intently at the Heart Sutra of the Great Sun Tathagata in Xu Fan's hand.
"Mortal, I want to make a deal with you. You will have to pay me some tribute."
Why?
Have you ever watched Journey to the West?
"I've seen it!"
"What was the price Tang Sanzang ultimately paid to obtain the Buddhist scriptures?"
"I remember it was a purple-gold alms bowl that the Tang Emperor gave to the Tang Monk Sanzang."
"Yes, what I want to exchange with you is the Heart Sutra of Vairocana Buddha that you have."
Xu Fan immediately put his hands behind his back and said, "Are all monks this unreasonable?"
Does seeing something good mean you have to snatch it?
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva dedicated his life to the management of hell, valuing the Dharma more than his own life.
How could he not be moved when he saw the ancient version of the Heart Sutra of Mahavairocana Buddha?
"Mortal, you will certainly not survive after you return. However, I have a brocade pouch here. When you encounter danger, you can open it and it will help you overcome the difficulties."
Xu Fan was still a little reluctant, so he immediately used the system's search function to check the introduction of the Heart Sutra of the Great Sun Tathagata.
The system has initiated a search and is connecting to the database.

The Heart Sutra of Vairocana Buddha;
Type: Divine Artifact
Grade: Gold (Highest Grade)
Source: Leiyin Temple in the Western Paradise
Brief introduction: This sutra was spoken by Vairocana Buddha, the Great Sun Tathagata, in the Vajra Dharma Realm Palace blessed by Bhagavan Tathagata.
The Buddha Vairocana, also known as Mahavairocana, preached the Dharma to Vajrapani, the Secret Lord, and others, aiming to reveal the inexhaustible treasury of pure Bodhicitta inherent in all sentient beings.
It discusses the "Three Mysteries" (or "Three Secrets") of the Dharma Gate through which all sentient beings inherently possess the pure Bodhicitta that is truly self-aware, and through cultivation, realization, and enlightenment.
The main theme is to demonstrate the inherent, original awareness of the mandala.
Function: To eradicate all filth in the world, for only the true Buddha can save all sentient beings.
Required talent: Buddhist studies related]
This introduction is as good as saying nothing at all.
It's just too abstract.
But Xu Fan understood the last one.
It's just that my talents aren't suited to it.
"Oh my god, what kind of system is this? Can't you give me a more useful reward?!"
Xu Fan still had to put on a brave face on the surface.
He deliberately put on a look of extreme reluctance.
"This Heart Sutra of the Great Sun Tathagata was brought back to the Tang Dynasty in the East by the Tripitaka Master after going through eighty-one tribulations."
Now that it's back in my hands, I shouldn't just return it so easily.
This is really not worth it.
Xu Fan stole a glance at Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva still wore that expressionless face, devoid of sorrow or joy, serene and detached.
"Of course, on the other hand, I also hope to become friends with you."
Since this ancient scripture is so important to you, I have no choice but to reluctantly part with it.
Xu Fan placed the Heart Sutra of Mahavairocana Buddha squarely in front of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
