Chapter 4, Part 4: The Slave Obeys

Chapter 4, Part 4: The Slave Obeys

As soon as the two arrived home, Chi Zhao found a stool and sat down, not forgetting to instruct the male supporting character, "You sit down too."

Yu Zhouwan hesitated to sit down, gently shaking his head. He glanced around discreetly; the houses were wooden, situated near the mountains and forests, and had a faint, pleasant fragrance that he liked.

“Miss, you must be tired from your journey. Let me massage your legs.”

He couldn't wait to do something to make the other person feel that he was useful.

However, Chi Zhao hadn't been close to any man other than her boyfriend for a long time, so she felt a little uncomfortable. She turned slightly to avoid his hand and casually tapped the table, where a warm oil paper package sat.

"Are you hungry? Sit down and have something to eat."

Yu Zhouwan never expected that she would get a share of the steamed buns she bought.

He was stunned for a moment, staring at her blankly.

Seeing no movement, Chi Zhao frowned impatiently and looked back. "Didn't I tell you to sit down and eat? Aren't you hungry?"

This suddenly brought people back to their senses.

Yu Zhouwan instinctively obeyed, sitting halfway down on the stool, but still feeling uneasy, she secretly glanced at her and asked softly, "Can I...can I eat this too?"

Chi Zhao responded, "You eat two."

I can eat that too, I can even eat two.

Yu Zhouwan never expected that the person who bought her was so kind-hearted, and her eyes unconsciously reddened a little.

The person sitting next to him didn't notice that she had been starving for a long time, and she gulped down half a large meat bun in one go.

The tofu skin was infused with delicious meat juices, and the taste was superb—a delicacy I hadn't tasted in many years.

After finishing the three buns, I turned around and saw that the two plump, white buns were still motionless in the oil paper package.

She was speechless. "Do I have to beg you three or four times to eat? Didn't the slave trader say you were very well-behaved, sensible, and obedient?"

She couldn't quite see where it manifested; she was always submissive and didn't follow orders.

Hearing her say that, Yu Zhouwan was obviously flustered. Her beautiful eyebrows furrowed slightly, and she quickly waved her hand, afraid that she would be dissatisfied with her. She kept shaking her head and said earnestly, "No, no, I will listen to you, I will listen to you. If you tell me to eat, I will eat."

He just didn't expect that on his very first day there, he would be eating the same food as her.

Yu Zhouwan received a few disapproving reprimands and dared not hesitate any longer. She quickly wiped her hands and was about to get the steamed buns when she was stopped again. "Wash your hands first, then you can eat."

In the post-apocalyptic world, water resources are scarce, and no one can use water as freely as before. When she first arrived in this place, she actually forgot that ancient times were different from the post-apocalyptic world, and there were plenty of clean, unpolluted water sources here.

The male supporting character's outstretched fingers were slender and beautiful, but they were stained with blood and red marks. They would be much more pleasing to the eye if they were cleaned.

Her words came out so suddenly that people mistook her for disdain. She quickly withdrew her fingers, nervously hiding under the table, pinching and twisting them together. Her long eyelashes drooped, and she said in a low, timid voice, "I know, I will wash it clean. Please don't be angry, Miss."

Chi Zhao didn't know how to explain that she wasn't angry, nor was she the type to get angry easily, so she simply nodded and walked outside. There was a jar of water there, which she had seen when she went out to buy people that morning.

"come over."

The voice was soft and not particularly gentle.

But Yu Zhouwan still couldn't help but be moved.

I felt that the girl was the kindest and gentlest girl in the world.

"How could I trouble you, young lady, to fetch water for me..."

He looked a little embarrassed, fidgeting, and the tips of his jade-like ears had somehow turned pink.

Since he wasn't her boyfriend, Chi Zhao didn't have any romantic ideas. She just felt that washing her hands and eating were such a hassle. She clicked her tongue impatiently and glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. As soon as he heard that sound, he immediately and obediently stretched out his hands and carefully washed them little by little with the water being poured.

Then she returned to her seat, extended her fair, jade-like fingertips, and grasped a large, plump, snow-white bun. Her voice seemed to contain sweetness as she softly said, "I only need one to fill me up. Please have one more, Miss."

He had just seen the girl finish three buns very quickly, so he figured she wasn't full. He was easy to feed and could eat a little less, as long as the girl was willing to stay with him.

Chi Zhao rubbed his temples, utterly bewildered. Seriously, you're dawdling over eating a steamed bun?

"Eat what I tell you to eat, and don't waste any."

Her tone was somewhat fierce, which startled the other person's thin body, causing them to tremble slightly. They hunched their shoulders and then replied with a "Yes," before lowering their head and quietly eating.

The big, plump steamed buns are fragrant with meat, warm, and have a savory and delicious flavor.

During the fifteen years he served as a servant and the year he was sold, he rarely ate meat, so he ate very carefully, taking small bites.

Chi Zhao didn't eat the buns with him anymore, so as not to see the other person being so fussy and annoying. She just told him that he had to eat both of them and not leave any, and then got up.

She walked around the house. The hunter's house was neither too big nor too small, just right for one person. The inner room was larger and had a similarly large bed, which suited her taste. Connected to the inner room was the kitchen, which had a stove and a large pot, used specifically for cooking.

A yard was fenced off outside, and some miscellaneous items were placed there, such as hunting tools.

She went up and tried it out; the weapon was quite handy. After a few days of practice, she would be able to inherit the mantle of the original owner.

Further out, there is a lush green forest. The mountain path is difficult to walk, and only occasionally a few villagers will pass by their houses when they go up the mountain to cut pig feed and dig wild vegetables.

It can be considered quite peaceful.

Chi Zhao walked a little further outside and wandered around for quite a while. When he returned, wisps of smoke were already rising from the house.

She saw it from afar and was stunned. Her mind naturally recalled that when her boyfriend was around, she would see the kitchen light on and his slender figure busy inside through the window whenever she returned from a mission.

He always cared about her health, afraid that she would harm herself if she missed a meal, and would beg her to come home for every meal before going to bed at night.

She's so well-behaved and adorable.

That's why she was a little reluctant to let go, reluctant to let her boyfriend disappear from her world like that.

Chi Zhao remained silent for a moment before stepping back. The people busy inside heard the creak of the door being pushed open and immediately looked up with bright eyes and smiles on their lips. "You're back. The food will be ready soon. Please sit down and rest. I'll serve you more rice in a bit."

He always addresses you with such slavish terms, which makes people uncomfortable. "Just use normal terms. I didn't buy you to be my slave."

Yu Zhouwan's long, thick eyelashes drooped slightly, and she held the fire poker with a hint of shyness.

Thinking of what the woman had said on the slave market, he pursed his lips slightly. Yes, the girl bought me to warm her bed, and she even told others that I was her husband.

Since he is my husband...

Yu Zhouwan nodded gently, then raised her beautiful, dark eyes and timidly called out, "My mistress?"

Chi Zhao:......

It feels a little strange, but I bought him to be my husband, so it doesn't seem wrong for him to call me that.

He could only nod, then turned his gaze to a plate of stir-fried vegetables by the stove, and casually asked, as if to ease the tension, "Where did you find these vegetables?"

She didn't see it.

"I found it in the courtyard. What's wrong? No, can't you move it?"

When Yu Zhouwan heard her ask, she felt uneasy, thinking that she had touched her wife's things as soon as she arrived in the house, which displeased her.

His eyes were extremely tense.

Chi Zhao was almost used to the other party's timid and paranoid nature, so she shook her head and said, "No, use it."

She wasn't angry.

The man suddenly relaxed, a faint smile appearing on his lips. "I also found some eggs in the cupboard. Shall I make an egg pancake for my wife?"

He looks docile and obedient, and very capable; the food he cooks looks delicious too.

"Okay, you're in charge of cooking. Do whatever you want, no need to ask me."

She likes to wait for her food to be eaten.

Upon hearing this, Yu Zhouwan's cheeks flushed even more, her heart fluttering. She thought to herself, "What she means by these words is that she wants to share half of the housekeeping power with me. I can't believe I've met such a wonderful wife..."
