Chapter 12 The Princess Who's Even Crazier Than the Prince

Two "highly respected" old women spoke first, which immediately gave the others confidence, and they all echoed their sentiments.

"You don't cook for the princess in the morning, and you mock her background. Do you still have the nerve to say that?" Meng Qi couldn't help but retort.

He went with them and witnessed firsthand how impressive their ability to distort the truth was.

Sheng Jingyu turned her head in surprise, her gaze beneath the white veil filled with astonishment.

She only went to the palace once, and she's already speaking up for Su Wenyuan?

Granny Gao sneered, "Guard Meng, you can't just spout nonsense just because you're someone close to the Prince. We made it this morning, and you ate it. The Princess Consort gets up late, so our kitchen staff worked hard to make a separate meal for her."

"In the end, it didn't work out because of what the princess said. If she hadn't come to the kitchen, the food would have been laid out in front of her by now."

Meng Qi was so angry that his face turned red and his neck bulged. In the end, he blamed it all on Su Wenyuan.

They're a bunch of people who don't do any work, and they actually think they're right?

Faced with the two old women's clever arguments, Su Wenyuan chuckled and said, "Looks like I'll have to beg you for food from now on? If I don't coax you nicely, I'll go hungry, right?"

The two old women exchanged a glance and almost simultaneously let out a soft hum.

There was no answer, but it seemed like an implicit agreement.

They really dare to think of making a princess humbly!

"Why aren't you saying anything?" Su Wenyuan asked with a smile, looking like she was easy to bully.

Granny Gao raised her chin arrogantly, "Your Highness is too kind. Please don't make so many demands in the future, and don't point fingers at us. You will naturally have food to eat."

Is this something a servant should say?

The key point is that after she said that, many people straightened their backs and cast disdainful glances at Su Wenyuan.

They took advantage of Sheng Jingyu's blindness, so they only spoke nicely and had no manners whatsoever.

They were all standing crookedly, some with their hands on their hips, some playing with their hair. This didn't look like the backyard of a prince's mansion at all.

Su Wenyuan asked suspiciously, "Your Highness, do you have money to burn and therefore keep a bunch of tyrants in your mansion?"

After she finished speaking, everyone was stunned and before they could react, Su Wenyuan suddenly slammed her hand on the table!

"With so many ancestors in the Prince Chen's mansion, why didn't you tell me beforehand? I could have given you all a proper stern warning. When I entered the palace today, I should have asked the Emperor if any of you had been given a place in the imperial mausoleum."

Everyone was shocked. Sheng Jingyu gasped. How could she say such things?

"Your Highness!" Sheng Jingyu warned.

Su Wenyuan didn't even look at him, and continued to scold, "Do you even know what your job is? What are you acting like, acting like big shots? We invited you here to work, not to be your masters!"

Suddenly, everyone in the courtyard knelt down in a flurry, and everyone felt a chill run down their spines.

The royal ancestors and imperial tombs? If such words were to get out, and such a charge were leveled against them, everyone present would be executed, or their entire families would be wiped out.

When the prince goes mad, he only has to take the lives of one or two people.

When the princess goes mad, she wants to eliminate all traces of the enemy.

"Why are you all kneeling down?" Su Wenyuan laughed angrily. "Are you scared to death now? You're dawdling over chores so early in the morning. Who's going to fetch water, comb your hair, and make the beds? Get out here."

No one dared to speak; they trembled with fear.

The two old women exchanged a glance, both seeing panic in each other's eyes.

Sheng Jingyu watched silently. Before Su Wenyuan returned, these people were so arrogant, but now they're practically cowering.

His princess seems to have developed a slightly more temper since entering the palace.

"Do I really have to ask you a second time?" Su Wenyuan's gaze swept over everyone.

The person who served her in the morning came out tremblingly and knelt down on the ground once again.

"How long have you been working here? Have you been doing this kind of work all along?" Su Wenyuan asked.

These old nannies in the mansion have some connections and are difficult to deal with, so we have to start with the younger ones.

“I called for water three times this morning, but they can’t do any work, they’re hard of hearing, and they can’t even speak properly. Your Highness, are you raising so many people to do good deeds for yourself?” Su Wenyuan asked, turning her head.

Sheng Jingyu said, "If the princess finds it an eyesore, then she can be kicked out."

Su Wenyuan provoked him repeatedly, just wanting to hear those words.

The prince's residence belongs to someone else, so we should always ask for his opinion.

Upon hearing Sheng Jingyu's words, these people panicked completely. The maids apologized and begged for forgiveness, crying with snot and tears streaming down their faces.

"Please, Your Highness, let me stay! My family is waiting for me to bring back the money to save their lives!"

"Your Highness, I promise I'll work hard from now on. I'll be able to fetch water without you having to call me..."

One after another came out to beg for mercy, but Su Wenyuan remained unmoved.

Su Wenyuan only reluctantly allowed them to stay when they could cry no more.

"The servants of Zhuyue Pavilion who worked this morning will have half a month's wages deducted."

The group thanked them repeatedly, saying they were just glad they weren't kicked out.

Actually, the work at Prince Chen's residence was quite easy, and Sheng Jingyu paid them a lot of money each month, so they didn't want to leave.

Seeing that they were being fined their monthly allowance, the others began to feel relieved, and some even gloated.

Fortunately, she didn't show up in front of Su Wenyuan in the morning and stayed in her room to slack off, which saved her from losing her monthly pay.

Unexpectedly, Su Wenyuan changed the subject and continued, "Those who didn't do any work, have a month's salary deducted!"

"Huh?" Everyone exclaimed in unison.

Su Wenyuan glanced at them coldly and said, "If you don't want to, you can leave. Nobody's stopping you."

Now no one objected anymore, and everyone shut up.

However, Su Wenyuan only dealt with the servants of Zhuyue Pavilion. The servants in the mansion were roughly divided into three parts. The first part was Zhuyue Pavilion, which had a relatively large number of people and was quite meticulous. They were selected by the guards around Sheng Jingyu.
