Chapter 175 A Lack of Martial Morality

The bus had been traveling all day, and by the time it reached a rest stop along the way, it was already 11 p.m.

Outside the car, thick, inky darkness enveloped everything, with only a few dim streetlights shivering in the cold wind, emitting a faint glow.

The passengers, dragging their weary bodies, stepped off the bus with a sigh of relief, stretching their stiff limbs amidst a cacophony of complaints and yawns.

Everyone rushed to the restaurant and the restroom, eager to relieve their physical needs and alleviate the fatigue of the journey.

However, the woman in the red dress was different.

She stood quietly beside the car, her gaze passing over the crowd and landing on the dark grass.

Ma Lihua also noticed the woman's unusual behavior, and her curiosity was piqued once again.

She couldn't help but stare at the woman, who strode confidently toward the dark patch of grass.

Her figure appeared so frail in the darkness, yet it exuded a sense of determination and resolve.

Ma Lihua hesitated for a moment, but ultimately couldn't suppress her curiosity and quietly followed them, with her mother following behind her.

The two walked carefully, trying not to make a sound, for fear of being discovered by the woman.

The grass in the bushes grew very tall, occasionally brushing against her arms and cheeks, bringing a ticklish sensation.

But she couldn't care less about that; her eyes were fixed on the red figure in front of her.

"Girl, why are you following her?" Ma Hehua asked, standing beside her.

"Mother, can you smell a faint stench?"

Hearing what Pear Blossom said, she gasped, "You know what, it smells like shit everywhere."

Ma Lihua: "……………………"

Forget it, if her mother could smell it, then she wouldn't be her mother.

The woman seemed very familiar with the patch of grass; she moved freely in the darkness without the slightest hesitation or doubt.

Ma Lihua struggled to keep up and eventually ended up clinging to her mother's back.

Suddenly, the woman stopped, and the two quickly hid behind a large tree, watching quietly.

The woman crouched down and groped around in the grass for something.

After a while, she seemed to have found what she was looking for, stood up, and had a black package in her hand.

Ma Lihua's doubts deepened. What exactly was in this package?

Why would a woman come to this patch of grass in the dead of night to look for it?

The woman clutched her bundle tightly and continued walking forward, with Ma Hehua following cautiously behind.

The path through the grass became increasingly difficult to walk on; the soil underfoot was slippery and soft. Ma Hehua accidentally stepped on a dry branch, and the "crack" sounded particularly loud in the quiet night.

The woman instantly became alert. She turned around and shouted, "Who's there?"

Ma Lihua's heart skipped a beat at the sudden shout. Just as she breathed a sigh of relief, the woman was already walking towards her and her mother.

"Come out! Stop hiding!" The woman's voice was filled with anger and malice.

With nowhere to hide, Ma Hehua had no choice but to swagger out from behind the tree.

"It's you? Why are you following me?" The woman's wariness did not lessen at all when she saw that it was Ma Lihua and her group.

Ma Lihua said innocently, "I'm just curious why you came here."

The woman snorted coldly, clutched her bundle tightly, and said, "Don't meddle in other people's business!"

As she spoke, the woman in red began to pull a long face, like a fox.

Her originally beautiful face instantly became distorted, and her fair skin seemed to be shrouded in a layer of gloom, exuding an eerie aura.

Her forehead was furrowed, forming deep lines, like cracked earth.

Those slender eyebrows were now furrowed together, like two tangled black lines, radiating anger and irritation.

His eyes narrowed into a long, narrow slit, and his once bright pupils were now shrouded in shadow, with only a sliver of cold light shining from them, sending chills down one's spine.

Her nose was straight, but at this moment it looked particularly out of place due to the tension in her facial muscles, as if it was trying to break free from her already distorted face.

Her lips were pressed tightly together, and her once luscious red lips had lost all color, turning into a pale straight line. The corners of her mouth turned down slightly, carrying a sense of contempt and disdain.

The muscles on both sides of the woman's cheeks trembled incessantly, as if countless tiny insects were wriggling under her skin.

Her chin protruded sharply, its lines hard and angular, as if it could cut through the air in front of her.

The once beautiful facial contours were now completely gone, replaced by an aggressive sharpness and distortion.

Her ears, too, seemed to have turned bright red with anger, gleaming strangely in the darkness like two flames that had been ignited.

The delicate earrings swayed with the trembling of her face, making a tinkling sound that seemed particularly jarring in the quiet atmosphere.

Her hair flew wildly in the wind, with a few strands clinging to her distorted face, adding to her ferocious appearance.

Her breathing became rapid and heavy, each breath like a burst of fire, the exhaled hot air condensing into wisps of white mist in the cold air before instantly dissipating.

Ma Lihua calmly watched all of this; the woman in front of her had changed so quickly!

Just a moment ago, she thought this woman, though strange, at least had some semblance of human appearance. But now, she was like a demon crawling out of hell.

The air around them seemed to grow heavy with the woman's anger, making it hard to breathe.
