Chapter 202 The White Dove Taoist Priest Who Became a Corpse Demon

In the dark and quiet wooden house, the sound of Ma Hehua's flint and steel was particularly loud.

The monotonous, repetitive sound echoed in the empty room.

Ma Hehua squatted in the corner of the wooden house, her hands trembling, constantly striking the iron sheet with a flint, trying to ignite the small clump of dry thatch.

Each impact sent sparks flying, only to be quickly extinguished, causing her heart to flutter with frustration.

The "click-clack" sound was amplified countless times in this enclosed space.

"Mom, this flint won't light!" Her hand was numb from striking it.

The female ghost in the painting was a little confused. What was going on?

Not only was I kicked for no reason, but now what kind of tricks are these women up to?

"Get up, I'll do it." Ma Linghua also felt that the flint was too much, so she took over herself.

"Old lady, it's burning..." The crackling sound continued incessantly.

After thinking for a moment, Ma Lihua took out a lighter from her backpack.

"Grandma, Mom, let's use this."

Ma Linghua: "……………………"

She glanced at the flint smoldering, then decisively grabbed the lighter and set the painting on fire.

The female ghost smelled smoke. "What's going on? Where's the fire?"

A warm sensation emanated from the soles of her feet. Upon closer inspection, she realized she was in deep trouble—her painting had caught fire.

Now she understood everything; these three women were planning to burn her paintings!

She felt a surge of resentment, but then seemed to remember something and smiled faintly.

A putrid stench wafted from the innermost room, drowning out the smell of smoke from the fire.

The faint moonlight shone through the window, and the wind whistled in through the cracks in the wooden house.

A sharp bird cry rang out outside, startling Ma Hehua so much that her hand trembled and the painting fell to the ground.

She bent down to pick it up, but the flower-painted ghost suddenly popped out and then ran away.

"Jingle bells, jingle bells..."

A faint sound could be heard coming from deep within the room.

At this moment, the atmosphere in the gloomy and dimly lit wooden house was so heavy that it was suffocating.

The air was thick with the smell of decay and decay, as if time had stood still for a long time.

Suddenly, a dull clatter of chains came from the depths of the room, "clatter, clatter..." The sound was particularly abrupt and eerie in the silence, as if a buried demon was struggling to break free of its restraints.

Each sound was like a heavy hammer blow, striking one's heart and causing one's heart to beat faster involuntarily.

Immediately following was a low roar, a sound that seemed to come from the depths of hell, filled with endless pain and rage.

The roar shook the dust in the room, making the entire wooden house tremble under its powerful force.

Before the three could react, with a loud bang, a creature that was neither human nor ghost burst out of the innermost room of the wooden house.

Rotten planks scattered and flew everywhere, raising a cloud of dust.

The creature was twisted, its body tall and deformed, its muscles tangled together, giving it a strange bluish-black color.

Its face was covered with hideous scars, and its eyes were blood red, radiating madness and murderous intent.

The breath that came out of his mouth was rotten and bloody, making one's stomach churn.

Heavy chains were wrapped around its body, deeply embedded in its flesh. With each movement, blood flowed down, dripping onto the ground and forming gruesome pools of blood.

But it seemed to feel no pain, still twisting its body frantically, trying to break free of the remaining restraints.

Ma Linghua stared at the monster in horror, her mind blank, her body frozen and unable to move.

"Master Baige..."

The monster surveyed its surroundings, and when its gaze fell upon the three members of the Ma family, it let out another deafening roar, a roar filled with a thirst for life and a desire for destruction.

It lunged forward with lightning speed.

The strong winds it generated stung the faces of the three people, and the ground beneath their feet trembled slightly under its impact.

As if waking from a dream, Ma Linghua began to dodge and weave in all directions, and the sounds of fighting instantly filled the entire space.

However, the monster was too fast, and it caught Ma Linghua in an instant.

"mother!"

"Milk!"

The two voices rang out, but they didn't panic.

Because Ma Linghua didn't use any harsh methods, but the monster had clearly lost its mind.

Ma Linghua stared wide-eyed at the once-familiar Taoist Master Baige, her face filled with disbelief.

His appearance had become distorted and terrifying, and there was no trace of his former ethereal and otherworldly demeanor.

"Master Baige, why have you become like this? Why have you turned into a corpse demon?" Ma Linghua questioned him loudly, her voice trembling with doubt.

However, the White Dove Taoist priest, now a monster, was unable to answer her question. He simply opened his blood-red maw and let out a low, hoarse roar, a sound that seemed to come from the depths of hell, sending chills down one's spine.

Ma Linghua broke free from its grasp and took a few steps back. Her gaze was fixed on Master Baige, trying to find a trace of the past in his ferocious face.

But at this moment, Master Baige's body was as dry as a rake, his skin was a strange bluish-gray, his eyes were bulging and bloodshot, and black saliva was flowing from his mouth, emitting a nauseating stench.

Memories flooded Ma Linghua's mind like a tide. The former Taoist Master Baige was so kind and approachable, always with a smile on his face and wisdom and compassion in his eyes.
