When it was past midnight, the hospital was not only quiet but also unusually cold, and there were very few nurses on duty.
Xiao Yingying is staying in a single room, or a VIP room, and there are several other rooms, all of which have beds.
Li Xin and his father lived separately, each in their own room. However, Li Damao's room had a window that faced the moonlight, which felt a bit eerie.
I can't see anything once the curtains are drawn, but I still feel uneasy. Maybe I should find a nanny and a caregiver for Yingying tomorrow!
He didn't want to save the money; sleeping in the hospital was terrifying.
He felt sleepy, so he washed up and went to bed, covering himself tightly with the blanket.
Suddenly, a dark shadow appeared outside the window.
Li Damao was asleep, so he couldn't see anything.
The hospital was unusually quiet when the dark shadow passed through the window and came to Li Damao's bedside.
Moonlight filtered through the clouds, casting faint shadows on the ward floor.
The dark figure was like a ghost, silent and still, seemingly blending into the quiet night.
It quietly approached Li Damao's bedside, its figure appearing and disappearing in the dim light.
Li Damao lay quietly on the bed, his face pale and his breathing even and weak.
His brow was slightly furrowed, as if he were having a nightmare in his sleep.
The dark figure stopped by the bedside, motionless, as if staring at Li Damao's sleeping face. The gaze hidden in the darkness revealed an indescribable mystery.
The regular ticking of Xiao Yingying's medical equipment in the ward only accentuated the tranquility of the moment.
The silhouette of the shadow gradually became clearer; it was long and twisted, like a human figure distorted by the night.
It slowly stretched out a hand, a hand that was thin and bony, its fingertips gleaming pale in the moonlight, as if it were a touch from another world.
Just as the hand was about to touch Li Damao's face, the leaves outside the window rustled in the wind.
The shadowy figure paused, seemingly wary of the sudden commotion.
A moment later, it moved closer and gently placed its fingers on Li Damao's forehead, and a chill instantly spread throughout Li Damao's body.
Li Damao trembled in his sleep, his brows furrowed even more, but he still did not wake up.
The shadowy figure seemed to be conveying some unknown power. A look of pain gradually appeared on Li Damao's face, and his lips trembled slightly, as if he were muttering something.
At that moment, the sound of a nurse's soft footsteps came from the hospital corridor. The dark figure instantly withdrew his hand, and in a flash, hid in the shadow of the curtains by the window.
The nurse pushed open the door, holding the medical record in her hand. Her gaze swept over Xiao Yingying's hospital bed, but she didn't find anything unusual. She then gently closed the door, and her footsteps gradually faded away.
The shadowy figure reappeared, slowly moving around the hospital bed as if scrutinizing Li Damao's expression.
Its shadow casts a strange shape on the wall, like a distorted painting.
Suddenly, Li Damao opened his eyes wide, his gaze fixed on the direction of the dark figure, his eyes filled with terror and confusion.
The dark figure remained motionless, staring directly at Li Damao, as if time had frozen at that moment.
Li Damao tried to shout, but found that his throat was blocked by something and he couldn't make a sound.
He tried to get up, but found that he could not move his body at all and could only watch helplessly as the mysterious black shadow enveloped him.
Just as Li Damao was feeling desperate, the dark figure slowly raised his hands, seemingly wanting to strangle him.
Li Damao's heart was pounding, and cold sweat kept seeping from his forehead.
However, just as the shadowy figure was about to touch Li Damao's neck, a beam of intense light suddenly shot out from the jade pendant on Li Damao's chest. The shadowy figure vanished instantly like smoke, and the room returned to its usual tranquility, as if everything that had just happened was merely a terrible nightmare.
Li Damao suddenly jumped out of bed and immediately ran to Li Xin's room.
His heart was pounding like a drum, and his breathing was rapid and erratic, as if something terrible was chasing him relentlessly.
Moonlight streamed through the window, casting pale shadows on the floor. Li Damao's figure moved swiftly through these shadows, his steps hurried and heavy.
He rushed into Li Xin's room, like a frightened fawn, trembling as he nestled into Li Xin's bed.
At this moment, Li Damao's face was deathly pale, his eyes were filled with fear and terror, and his teeth were chattering, making a "clucking" sound.
Li Xin was sleeping soundly, dreaming that he was galloping freely on a beautiful grassland.
Suddenly, he felt a chill in his crotch, which startled him awake.
He was jolted awake from his sleep, his mind still in a daze, but his body had already reacted instinctively.
He instinctively kicked out, a kick so forceful it seemed he wanted to kick away the sudden discomfort.
Then, a scream rang out in the room, sharp and agonizing.
Li Xin instantly sobered up a bit; the voice sounded familiar! When he realized what it was, he was speechless. Wasn't that his dad?
Li Xin stared wide-eyed at Li Damao, who was curled up in a ball under the covers. His speechlessness was instantly replaced by worry. "Dad, what's wrong with you?" Li Xin asked anxiously.
Li Damao was still trembling, and he stammered, "Son...son, I...I'm scared." Li Xin immediately became alert. Could it be that the evil spirit had come looking for his father?
Li Damao recounted his experience haltingly, his voice trembling uncontrollably. "I...I saw a dark shadow in my room, it...it was terrifying."
