Looking at the few steamed buns, pickled vegetables, and thin porridge with only a few grains of rice visible on the table, I suddenly lost my appetite.
"Young lady, is that all? Nothing else?" Ma Linghua asked.
The old woman was taken aback. "Young lady?" Did she not look old? Her expression brightened as she said, "These days, everyone saves money. As for being well-fed, only men can afford that." She looked on with a sigh of envy.
There was no other way; the three of them managed to eat a few bites. They had to eat! It had been so long since they'd had any! They couldn't hold back any longer!
After dinner, the three of them prepared to go out for a stroll. Fortunately, the place seemed to be a town.
Like Granny Liu entering the Grand View Garden, the group looked around and saw many people wearing mandarin jackets, as well as Zhongshan suits, and even some with long hair.
After wandering around in the bustling market and streets, I almost couldn't find my way back to the alley.

Every word the others said reached the ears of the three women. Ma Linghua's eyes lit up. Something fishy? She could believe it, but then she touched her face, gritted her teeth, and thought, "Being too beautiful is indeed a sin."
"Grandma, what do you think?" Ma Lihua asked.
“I think it’s a good idea. We’ll go to their office for the interview tomorrow,” Ma Linghua said confidently.
