Mr. Chen frowned, muttering something under his breath.
His somewhat short frame bent down at that moment, trying to pick up the key that had been accidentally dropped from the dark corner.
At that moment, a group of black cats stood densely packed on the rooftop above, like mysterious messengers in the night.
Their figures blended into the surrounding darkness, appearing and disappearing intermittently.
The fur of each black cat shimmered with a mysterious luster in the faint moonlight, as if shrouded in a veil of mystery.
Their deep green eyes, like gems from the abyss, stared intently at Boss Chen.
That gaze seemed to contain endless secrets and an unspeakable scrutiny.
Mr. Chen felt the intense gaze and couldn't help but shiver. His movements as he picked up the keys became somewhat flustered.
His hands trembled as he opened the door again, and this time, he opened it quickly.
The black cats remained motionless, like frozen statues, except for their green eyes, which moved in sync with Mr. Chen's movements.
That gaze seemed to have penetrating power, able to see into the deepest fears and anxieties in Mr. Chen's heart.
Mr. Chen tried to avoid their gaze, but the feeling of being pricked by thorns in his back just wouldn't go away.
Upon entering the house, it was pitch black without moonlight and reeked of the sour smell of tofu.
A gentle breeze blew by, causing the black cats' fur to flutter slightly, but their eyes remained fixed on Mr. Chen's door.
It was as if they were looking at Boss Chen through the door.
Mr. Chen straightened up and groped around the room. Soon, he reached his own room. Without knocking, he pushed the door open abruptly.
"Hey! You woman, leaving the door open for me in the middle of the night, you must have a death wish."
He threw off the covers and got angry when he saw the woman whose face was covered by her hair.
If you don't beat her for three days, she'll be climbing on the roof and tearing off the tiles. This woman only obeys if she's beaten.
Even though he only had one hand left, he still stubbornly grabbed the woman's hair, trying to pull her up.
The room was somewhat dark, but there was still a faint moonlight shining through the window.
His hand no longer hurt, and his face was full of ferocity. Beating his wife was a common occurrence for him.
"Don't hit me, don't hit me, don't hit me!" The eerie and pitiful cries sent chills down his spine.
"Gurgle!"
He swallowed hard, then quickly released the woman's hair. His head was covered in sweat, and by the moonlight, he could see the woman's face. This was not his wife at all.
"Who...who are you?" he asked haltingly.
"Who am I? Sir, you don't even know who I am?" The woman's cold voice was filled with resentment.
"You...you stay away." Boss Chen was frightened; this woman's feet didn't even touch the ground.
"Mr. Chen, you didn't say that before. You said that my hands were the most pleasing to you, as white and tender as the tofu you make! Hehehe~" The woman chuckled.
Mr. Chen immediately remembered, “You…you are Xiangxiu…” His voice trembled.
"Oh my! Sir, you remember me? Hehehe~" Xiangxiu's laughter was like a demonic sound piercing the ears, making Boss Chen's heart pound violently.
"You...you weren't dead?"
"Yes! Wasn't I strangled to death by you? What? You haven't forgotten, have you?" Xiangxiu's light words carried endless desolation.
Mr. Chen immediately realized that this was Xiangxiu's ghost, and he had to escape.
A surge of energy welled up within him, and he ran toward the door. As soon as he touched the door, his hand was frozen by an icy chill.
Another woman, her feet barely touching the ground, stood at the doorway, staring at Boss Chen with a gleam in her eyes.
Mr. Chen's expression changed. This was La Mei, whom he had killed a year ago. That woman had even dreamed of marrying him and was pregnant. He had accidentally caused her to miscarry and had also swindled a lot of money from her.
"Winter plum... winter plum."
"Hmph! You bastard, you didn't expect this, did you! I've come back to find you."
Mr. Chen was heartbroken; he hadn't even solved one problem, and now another one had appeared.
He slowly looked at the wall, but a pair of soft hands were holding him tightly from behind.
He struggled, crying, "Let me go, let me go..."
"Whoosh~" A gust of cold air blew on his ear, and his body stiffened. The person holding him said softly, "Master, it's me, Xing'er! Do you remember?"
Mr. Chen didn't say anything; he was so frightened that he was speechless.
"Oh dear! Don't you remember?" Xing'er looked distressed, tightening her grip on his waist as she slowly said, "How could you forget? How could you forget? You said my tongue was the softest, and you were so pleased with it! You also said my bound feet were very beautiful, and you often played with them! How could you forget?"
Well, not only did the three women he killed come knocking on his door overnight, but they also had incredibly good memories.
Xing'er was quite aggressive and kissed Boss Chen hard on the lips, followed by a scream from Boss Chen.
"ah…………"
Xing'er removed her mouth from his, and blood streamed down Boss Chen's face. His tongue had been bitten off by Xing'er.
"Ah...ah...ah..." He struggled, then knelt on the ground and kowtowed.
Xing'er, Xiangxiu, and Lamei stared intently at him.
The love, affection, tenderness, and shared bed of the past all turned into poison that hastened Mr. Chen's death.
The room was silent except for Mr. Chen's wails and screams.
Mr. Chen's body flew eerily into the air, a scene like a terrifying nightmare.
His feet were displayed in an extremely twisted posture, as if being manipulated at will by an invisible force, and his bones emitted a chilling "creaking" sound.
His right hand was tightly gripping his own neck, the force as if he wanted to end his own life.
His fingers dug deep into the skin of his neck, leaving shocking red marks, while his eyes were wide open, his eyeballs seemingly about to pop out of their sockets.
Those eyes were filled with fear and despair, the pupils dilated to the extreme, and the whites of the eyes were covered with blood vessels, like countless ferocious red snakes crawling.
His mouth was wide open, as if he wanted to make a desperate cry, but he could only make hoarse sounds. Without his tongue, he couldn't utter a single word.
The surrounding air seemed to freeze, and there was a deathly silence.
Only Mr. Chen's painful struggles echoed in this terrifying atmosphere.
His body trembled incessantly, every muscle spasming, as he fought his last desperate battle.
The three women seemed to be reveling in Mr. Chen's pain and fear. The invisible force grew stronger and stronger, and Mr. Chen's face turned from red to green, and then to deathly pale.
His life force was rapidly fading away, but his twisted body and wide-open eyes were frozen in that terrifying moment, becoming a chilling image.
A gentle breeze blew by, bringing with it a chilling, eerie feeling.
Mr. Chen's body fell to the ground like a discarded rag doll, but the terrifying expression was forever etched on his face. Mr. Chen was dead.
