Chapter 28 The Lost Woman

The three members of the Ma family went straight to work after descending the mountain.

The chickens and ducks still need to be fed, and firewood still needs to be chopped; we still have to get through these days.

"Click-clack-clack..."

Ma Linghua started striking two egg-sized flints. By the time she got home, it was almost five o'clock. How could she not cook dinner?

Ma Lihua picked up the book in her hand and started reading. It was a novel called "Dad, Please Love Me One More Time."

As she read, she wrote and drew notes, adding her own insights.

"Dad, I'm clearly your biological daughter, why don't you love me? Meimei is just an adopted daughter, why did you give her my room and dresses?"

Upon seeing this, Ma Lihua picked up a pen, drew a wavy line, and wrote.

"Can't you find another room? Your house is such a big villa, you have plenty of rooms. You gave me the dress, so what? Can't you just buy a new one?"

Comment: Your father loves his adopted daughter more, so he doesn't love you! He won't give you a nice room or buy you dresses, so you should kick your father out of the house, make sure he can't spend a penny of your money, and make sure he doesn't live in your mother's house.

Ma Lihua looked at her answer and nodded in satisfaction. After reading it, she asked her father to send the book to the author so that she could understand that her father's love was not as real as her mother's money.

author;"………………………………"

Haha! What a refreshing and unique fan!

"You old hag, if you don't get fired up, you're making a fool of yourself!"

"Crack... Boom..."

The flint finally caught fire after Ma Linghua's numerous threats. Smoke rose from the chimney, filling the surrounding area with smoke. The landslide, however, failed to push the Ma family's house down the mountain.

The evening breeze blew in and accidentally opened the door to the Ma family's house. A woman in a white dress walked out of the doorway, looking dazed.

She stood at the doorway and peered inside, then couldn't resist going in.

The three members of the Ma family were eating when Ma Hehua paused in her chopsticks, then stood up and left, while the grandmother and grandson continued eating.

The woman looked around the Ma family's courtyard; everything there was so old and full of historical significance.

She had never seen a wind hopper before, especially the one with the wind hopper. Several stalks were piled on top of it, filled with some grain husks. She picked up a wooden handle on the wind hopper and curiously put her hand on it.

With a gentle shake, the two wooden fans inside the fan hood also swayed, and there was also an air vent that blew out a considerable amount of air. Curious, she shook the fan quickly, then let go and stood at the air vent. A scent of millet wafted over.

A smile appeared on her face that she herself didn't recognize, and it was unclear what she was happy about.

Ma Hehua stood aside and watched this woman for a long time, then summarized it in a few words: "She's got a screw loose."

"What are you doing messing around in my house? Don't you have any manners?" Ma Hehua's voice rang out, startling the woman.

She immediately came to her senses and quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, I was impulsive."

The woman lowered her head; her feet were covered in mud, and she appeared to be barefoot. Her skirt was also stained with dirt and a faint dark red liquid.

"Does being wrong make a difference? Get out of here right now, you're just annoying to look at." Ma Hehua's impatient voice made the woman feel embarrassed.

However, she couldn't leave because many people were chasing her. She fled to this village and found that many houses were empty. She only came up when she saw smoke.

Within a radius of a hundred miles, only in this mountain village did she have a family, so the woman absolutely did not want to leave.

It was almost eight o'clock, and it wasn't very dark yet, but the moonlight had already come out. Under the pure white moonlight, the woman seemed to have no shadow, and she herself didn't even notice it.

Ma Hehua glanced at the woman indifferently. If this woman wasn't going to leave, then she wouldn't be polite. She rolled up her sleeves and prepared to get to work.

"Lotus, you're a guest. Let her sit in the yard for a while. You can come in and wash the dishes."

Ma Hehua; "…………………………"

She wanted to avoid washing the dishes, but her mother seemed to know what she was thinking.

Well, that's it. Roll up your sleeves and go wash the dishes! Otherwise, she'll get scolded by her mother later. She glared at the woman resentfully and left.

The grandmother and grandson came out, and their eyes were filled with curiosity when they saw the woman in the yard.

Ma Linghua took out her purple pipe, lit it, and sat on a wooden chair in the yard, closing her eyes.

Ma Lihua was also lying in her rocking chair in the courtyard, but she didn't close her eyes; instead, she stared straight at the woman.

The woman felt a little uneasy. She nervously clenched her hands, as it was indeed inappropriate for her to enter someone else's home without prior notice.

"What's your name?" Ma Linghua asked casually, taking a drag of her cigarette.

The woman was somewhat taken aback, not expecting her to ask her a question.

"Tang Xueli." Her clear and melodious voice rang out.

Ma Linghua glanced at her; she was pretty and well-behaved, and looked to be only in her early twenties, with long, jet-black hair.

The white dress looked very dirty and had a strong stench. Her bare feet were covered in black mud, but the girl didn't seem to notice.

Ma Linghua: "Where did you come from?"

Tang Xueli; "Coming down from...from the mountains".

Ma Linghua: "What are you doing here?"

Tang Xueli: "I don't know. Someone was chasing me, so many people. I saw smoke and light, so I came."

After Ma Linghua finished smoking, she put the pipe away. She didn't ask any more questions or talk to Tang Xueli anymore.

Tang Xueli felt uneasy, as if she always felt that this family was very strange. There were countless jackals, wolves, tigers and leopards in these mountains. Weren't they afraid?
