Old Mr. Liu shouted, "Everyone back off!" His voice, as loud as a bell, instantly shattered the eerie silence in front of the Buddhist hall.
As his voice fell, the servants and Master Song, as if they had found their pillar of support, quickly retreated behind him.
Their faces were filled with fear and unease, their eyes fixed on Old Madam Song as if they were watching a dangerous entity that could erupt at any moment.
Mr. Liu stood before the crowd, his expression solemn.
He was dressed in a long robe, his hair was white but he was still very energetic.
At this moment, his gaze was fixed on the old lady Song in front of him, trying to find a clue from her.
He said in a very heavy voice, "I wonder which esteemed person you are? Has the Song family offended us in any way? Please explain."
His words conveyed a sense of authority and composure, as if he were attempting to communicate with that unknown entity.
Upon hearing Mr. Liu's words, Madam Song narrowed her eyes. A mysterious light shone in her gaze, making her unfathomable.
A strange smile appeared on her face, a smile that seemed to come from another world, sending chills down one's spine.
She slightly raised her chin and slowly scanned the crowd, as if she were scrutinizing a group of ants.
The atmosphere in front of the Buddhist hall became even more tense.
Moonlight shone through the clouds onto the ground, but it could not dispel the pervasive gloom.
A gentle breeze blew by, ruffling the hems of their clothes, but it couldn't dispel the fear in their hearts.
Mr. Liu stared intently at Mrs. Song, secretly forming a hand seal, ready to deal with any potential dangers at any moment.
Madam Song's smile grew increasingly eerie, her eyes seemingly concealing endless secrets.
She slightly opened her mouth and let out a low laugh, a laugh that sounded like a summons from hell, sending chills down one's spine.
“The Song family…heh, the Song family…” Her voice was hoarse and sinister, as if carrying an ancient curse.
Mr. Liu felt a chill run down his spine; he knew he was facing something far from ordinary.
He took a deep breath, trying to remain calm. "Who exactly are you? Why are you possessing Old Madam Song's body? If the Song family has offended us in any way, please tell us, and we will do our best to make amends." His words were full of sincerity and determination, hoping to resolve this crisis.
Madam Song ignored Mr. Liu's words and continued to laugh, a laugh that sent chills down one's spine.
She slowly raised her hand and pointed at Master Song. "He...he's the culprit..." Her voice was filled with resentment and anger.
Master Song trembled with fear. He looked at Madam Song in terror and shook his head repeatedly. "No, Mother... I didn't do anything wrong. I don't know what's going on." His voice trembled, filled with helplessness.
Mr. Liu frowned, looking at Mrs. Song and then at Mr. Song.
"Master Song, think carefully, have you done anything recently that offended the gods? Or have you done anything unusual?"
His eyes were filled with expectation, hoping that Mr. Song could recall some key clues.
Mr. Song tried hard to recall, his face growing paler and paler. "I...I don't remember...I didn't do anything special." His voice was filled with despair.
Mr. Liu sighed; he knew things were getting more complicated.
He looked at Madam Song again, trying to find some answers in her eyes. "Whoever you are, since you have possessed Madam Song's body, you must have your purpose. Please tell me, and we can discuss a solution." His words were full of wisdom and courage.
Old Madam Song's smile gradually faded, and her eyes grew even colder. "Discuss? Hmph, the sins committed by your Song family are unforgivable." Her voice was filled with anger and hatred.
Mr. Liu's heart sank; he knew that things had reached their most critical moment.
He must find a solution as soon as possible, otherwise the Song family will face a huge disaster.
He closed his eyes, concentrated, and tried to sense that mysterious power.
Just then, a thunderclap suddenly resounded in the sky.
Everyone was startled and looked up, only to see dark clouds gathering and lightning flashing.
A strong light emanated from Madam Song, illuminating the entire Buddhist hall.
Mr. Liu's heart stirred; he knew this was an opportunity. He quickly opened his eyes, muttered incantations, and constantly changed the hand seals.
The light grew stronger and stronger, and Madam Song's body began to tremble.
Her face showed a pained expression, as if she were fiercely struggling against that mysterious force.
Old Master Liu increased the output of his magic power, knowing that this was a life-or-death struggle.
Finally, thanks to Mr. Liu's efforts, that mysterious power was gradually suppressed.
Old Madam Song's body went limp and she collapsed to the ground.
Mr. Liu quickly stepped forward, helped Mrs. Song up, and checked her condition.
After a thorough examination, Mr. Liu breathed a sigh of relief.
Madam Song only fainted; she was otherwise unharmed.
He turned around and looked at everyone. "The crisis is temporarily over, but we must find out why the Song family offended the gods, otherwise this kind of thing will happen again." His words were full of seriousness and worry.
Everyone nodded in agreement; they knew Mr. Liu was right. They had to find the root of the problem as soon as possible to save their lives.
"Oh, not bad! You've got some skills!" Ma Linghua looked at Mr. Liu with a very flippant tone.
"Mr. Liu, this...this woman...could she also be a demon or a ghost?" Master Song was frightened.
