Huai Sheng immediately became alert; this man gave him a dangerous feeling.
"Who are you?" Huai Sheng's voice was somewhat shrill.
Chen Zhiqing smiled gently, "I am not human."
Huai Sheng: "…………………………"
Chen Zhiqing licked his lips. This tree demon wasn't anything special, but it was barely edible.
Huai Sheng stared wide-eyed at the man in front of him who claimed to be "not human"—Chen Zhiqing.
He was dressed in black, with a tall and straight posture, his dark hair casually tied up, and an indescribable evil aura between his brows and eyes.
That gentle smile, however, sent chills down Huai Sheng's spine at that moment.
Chen Zhiqing tilted his head slightly, his eyes fixed on Huaisheng.
His eyes were like a bottomless pool, seemingly capable of sucking people in.
His skin was fair, and it shone with an eerie glow in the moonlight.
The act of licking his lips sent alarm bells through Huai Sheng's mind; his intuition told him that this man was dangerous.
Chen Zhiqing slowly approached Huaisheng, each step seeming to tread on Huaisheng's heart.
He exuded a faint aura that was both unfamiliar and chilling.
Huai Sheng unconsciously retreated, only to find that he had nowhere left to retreat.
His voice became shrill with fear: "What exactly are you?" Chen Zhiqing was in no hurry to answer, but instead slowly paced around Huai Sheng, as if he were sizing up prey.
Although this tree spirit, Huai Sheng, wasn't particularly powerful, it held a unique allure in Chen Zhiqing's eyes.
He could sense the vitality emanating from Huai Sheng, a pure yet alluring aura.
Chen Zhiqing's lips curled up slightly, revealing a wicked smile.
His fingers gently traced Huai Sheng's cheek, the cold touch sending a shiver through Huai Sheng's body.
Huai Sheng wanted to resist, but found that his strength was like an ant in front of Chen Zhiqing.
He was filled with despair, not knowing what this mysterious man would do to him.
Looking at Huai Sheng's terrified expression, Chen Zhiqing felt a surge of pleasure.
He knew that the tree spirit was now completely under his control, at his mercy. And he would fully enjoy this unexpected gain.
The cold moonlight shone on this gloomy place, and the wandering ghosts stared wide-eyed at Chen Zhiqing in terror.
He was like a monster crawling out of the depths of hell, exuding a chilling aura.
Chen Zhiqing's figure looked particularly eerie in the moonlight.
His body seemed to be shrouded in darkness, making it impossible to see his true appearance.
The gaping maw that had just opened was like an endless black hole, instantly swallowing Huai Sheng whole.
The terrifying scene terrified the surrounding ghosts, sending them flying into a panic.
By the moonlight, one could clearly see his mouthful of sharp teeth, like pointed daggers, gleaming with a cold light.
Each tooth seemed to contain endless killing intent, sending chills down one's spine.
The moment that huge mouth closed, it seemed capable of swallowing the entire world.
The ghosts trembled; they had never seen such a terrifying being.
Chen Zhiqing stood there quietly, as if savoring the delicious food he had just eaten.
His eyes were cold and ruthless, without a trace of pity.
The ghosts trembled and lay prostrate on the ground, not daring to make the slightest movement.
They feared they would be the next to be devoured, and an atmosphere of dread permeated the eerie place.
The ghosts trembled, their hearts filled with despair.
They didn't know what the monster would do to them, nor whether they could escape this nightmare.
Under the moonlight, Chen Zhiqing's figure was like a huge shadow, enveloping every ghost.
They could only pray for the favor of fate and hope to escape this disaster.
Chen Zhiqing shifted his body slightly, his gaze sweeping over the ghosts prostrate on the ground. The ghosts, sensing his gaze, trembled even more in fear.
They didn't know what the monster's next move would be, but they knew that their lives were as insignificant as ants in the face of this monster.
Chen Zhiqing seemed to be thinking about something, a hint of hesitation flickering in his eyes.
Perhaps he was considering whether to devour these ghosts as well.
But in the end, he merely snorted coldly, turned around, and disappeared into the darkness, leaving the ghosts standing there, unable to calm down for a long time.
With Huai Sheng's death, the entire surrounding space was plunged into despair.
The old locust tree that was intertwined with his life instantly lost its vitality.
The once tender green leaves turned yellow and withered rapidly at a visible speed, as if all their vitality had been drained away.
Withered leaves drifted down helplessly, like life itself fading away.
The old locust tree's branches have lost their former uprightness, becoming bent and decaying.
It's like an old man in his twilight years, having lost all its vitality under the erosion of time.
The bark became dry and rough, and the withered leaves rustled in the breeze, as if the old locust tree was weeping for its young.
It was once so vibrant, but now it's just a desolate wasteland.
In the instant Huai Sheng died, this previously oppressive space seemed to be suddenly freed from its constraints.
The ghosts that Huai Sheng had killed fled like startled birds.
Fear filled the air, and they desperately wanted to get away from this place filled with the scent of death.
At that moment, Xiuer, who was hanging on the tree, suddenly opened her eyes.
Her withered body looked particularly terrifying in the moonlight.
The once vibrant life is now reduced to a withered shell, the skin clinging tightly to the bones like dried tree bark.
