Chapter 318 Open the door, I am Xiuer

Xiuer's parents lay on the bed, unable to sleep, while Old Man Shi turned over and sighed.

"Sigh! You know, Xiu'er is so pretty, how come the young master doesn't like her?"

"Hey! Maybe they don't like someone like Xiuer. Oh well, I should go to bed early. They're leaving tomorrow, so I need to get up early to cook."

The thought of that dark, menacing gun barrel filled her with fear.

"Squeak!"

The door outside was opened, and the couple didn't say a word. They guessed that their son must have returned from the house of the young widow at the end of the village.

With her exhausted and strange body, Xiuer finally returned to her familiar yet unfamiliar home through sheer willpower.

Her eyes gleamed with madness and hunger, like those of a starving wild beast.

She walked straight toward her chicken coop, her steps heavy and hurried.

A glint of excitement flashed in her eyes when she saw the chickens.

Suddenly, she stretched out her withered hands and quickly grabbed a chicken.

The chicken didn't even have time to crow before she snapped its neck.

Xiuer couldn't wait to bring the chicken's neck to her mouth and suck the chicken's blood in big gulps.

Warm blood flowed down the corner of her mouth, staining her dry chin red.

She swallowed greedily, as if she were savoring the most delicious food in the world.

One chicken was clearly not enough, and Xiuer's hunger was not relieved.

She slowly raised her head and turned her gaze toward her brother's room.

Her eyes were filled with longing and madness, as if they held the hope of her survival.

She walked step by step toward her brother's room, each step carrying a heavy sense of oppression.

Her body trembled slightly, whether from excitement or fear, it was hard to tell.

She stopped in her tracks when she stood at the door of her brother's room.

There seemed to be an inner struggle: on one hand, an uncontrollable hunger, and on the other hand, a slight reluctance to leave one's loved ones.

But in the end, hunger triumphed over reason.

Xiuer slowly pushed open the door, the creaking sound particularly jarring in the quiet night.

Her figure disappeared at the doorway, leaving behind a chilling silence.

"Huh? Why is my door open?" A man had just come back from the house of the young widow at the end of the village.

When I got to my door, I saw that the door was wide open. What if a jackal or wolf got in?

He locked the door and prepared to go back to his room, but when he got to the door, he found it wide open.

My heart immediately went on edge. Could it be that a big cat had gotten into the house?

The man peeked inside furtively and cautiously, but the room was pitch black and he couldn't see anything at all.

Darkness was like a giant monster, swallowing everything in its grasp.

The man frowned, a sense of unease rising within him.

He hesitated for a moment, and just as he was about to go back to the kitchen to find a tinderbox, a familiar voice rang out.

"Brother, you're back. I couldn't sleep, so I came to sit in your room." This voice was like a ray of dawn in the darkness, immediately putting the man's guard down.

He recognized the voice as his sister Xiu'er's, and his unease vanished instantly.

The man breathed a sigh of relief and muttered to himself, "What is that brat doing in my room in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?"

The man grumbled as he walked into the house. "You good-for-nothing, you can't even handle a man, and you dare to come to my house? You're such bad luck!" The man spoke viciously, showing no regard for Xiu'er's feelings.

His face was full of impatience, as if Xiuer were a nuisance.

However, at this moment, Xiu'er's eyes were flashing red, which looked particularly eerie in the darkness.

She looked at the man quietly, her eyes revealing an unfathomable emotion. "Brother, come here, I have something to tell you." Xiu'er's voice was urgent, as if she had something important to tell the man.

The man, however, did not notice Xiu'er's unusual behavior. He walked over impatiently, muttering, "Say what you want to say quickly, don't keep me from sleeping."

As he approached Xiuer, a faint smell of blood wafted over him.

The man frowned, a hint of doubt rising in his mind. "What's that smell? It's awful." He was about to ask when he suddenly felt a chill rise from the soles of his feet.

Xiuer slowly raised her head, her red eyes fixed on the man.

A sinister smile crept across her face, sending chills down one's spine. "Brother, do you know? I'm so hungry." Xiu'er's voice was low and hoarse, like a call from hell.

The man stared at Xiu'er in horror, his heart filled with fear. He wanted to escape, but found his body seemingly frozen in place, unable to move.

"Xiuer, what's wrong? Don't scare me." The man's voice trembled, and his eyes were filled with despair.

Xiuer did not answer him, but slowly approached him.

Her mouth was slightly open, revealing a set of sharp teeth.

The man stared at the teeth, his heart filled with terror. He finally understood that the Xiuer before him was no longer the sister he knew.

"No, Xiuer, you can't do this to me. I'm your brother!" the man cried out in despair, but Xiuer ignored him.

She lunged at the man and bit his neck. The man screamed and struggled desperately, but to no avail.

Xiuer greedily drank the man's blood, as if she were tasting the most delicious food in the world.

As blood was lost, the man's consciousness gradually faded.

Xiuer drained her brother's blood and slowly stood up.
