"Go check on Gen'er's house. The gunshots at night were probably caused by this group."
The village chief waved his hand, signaling the villagers to leave.
He decided to send someone to find out what was going on and what kind of background this young master and his group had.

Chen Zhiqing and his adjutant had already gone far away.

"Bah! Those beasts with human faces and hearts of monsters, they must have killed Xiu'er and her family." A villager said through gritted teeth, his eyes burning with rage.
“Yes! That’s right, everyone, don’t let anyone into the village next time.” Another villager chimed in, his tone resolute.
The villagers talked all at once, and anger spread through the air.
Everyone chimed in, condemning the possible murderer.
Some people waved their fists as if to avenge Xiu'er's family, while others looked sad and heartbroken over this sudden tragedy.
The entire village was plunged into chaos and anger.
"Quiet!"
The village chief roared.
His voice, like a booming bell, echoed in the air, instantly silencing everyone around him.
The village chief's face was very serious, his brows were furrowed, and his eyes revealed deep worry.
He knew this was no small matter and needed to be handled calmly.
After everyone around quieted down, the village chief began to think about the matter carefully.
He went to Gen'er's house in person to check on the situation. When he saw the bodies of Xiu'er's parents and Gen'er, his heart tightened.
