"I think we should stop and take a look at the surroundings before we talk about it," Chen Zhiqing said, under the heavy gazes of the three men.
"Alright, Lotus, stop the carriage."
"Okay, Mom!"
As soon as the carriage stopped, Lieutenant Chen burst into tears. It had been such a difficult journey. The horse was like a mutant; if they hadn't been strong and healthy, they might have fallen behind.
There were many thorns and some strangely shaped trees around, making it feel like this was another place altogether.
The three members of the Ma family jumped down from the carriage. Ma Lihua frowned slightly as she looked at the scene before her.
"This place is eerie, we should be careful." Ma Linghua touched the bag.
The surrounding atmosphere was deeply oppressive, and an unsettling aura lingered in the air, making Ma Lihua uncomfortable.
"Mom, the air here is so fresh. Taking a deep breath feels like I've been smoking pills for years!" Ma Hehua said, looking completely blissful.
"Lotus, go to the car."
Ma Linghua's tone was stern and left no room for argument.
Ma Hehua slunk into the carriage, annoyed by Chen Zhiqing's weak and listless appearance as he sat in his seat, lost in thought.
"Demonic energy."
Ma Linghua reached out and suddenly pulled open an inconspicuous bag.
"bump!"
With a loud bang, a bear that looked a lot like Winnie the Pooh stood up and lay sprawled on the ground.
"Hey! Ma Linghua, can't you be a little gentler? I'm trying to sleep!"
The one speaking was the demonic bear that Ma Linghua had released earlier.
His red eyes gleamed, then he looked around at his surroundings, a sly smile spreading across his face.
"I don't even know how many times I've talked about you three, you're always so unlucky, you even managed to encounter a mirage."
"Shut up, how are we going to get out?" Ma Linghua stared at it intently.
This made his scalp tingle.
The demon bear's tall and strong body stood amidst the thorns.
Its obsidian-like fur shimmered eerily in the dim light, and its piercing eyes warily scanned the strangely shaped plants around it.
These plants, twisted and entwined, seemed to have grown out of a nightmare, exuding an unsettling aura.
The demon bear frowned slightly and fell into deep thought.
After a long while, it suddenly let out a fart, the sound of which seemed particularly abrupt in the silent space.
"puff…………"
But the demon bear didn't care at all, and just casually scratched its own buttocks.
Then, it turned its gaze to Ma Linghua beside it and said in a casual tone, "It's not impossible to get out, but we have to find the mirage beast of the mirage."
"Since finding the Mirage Beast will allow us to leave, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and go find it."
Demon Bear: "…………………………"
That old hag is always so self-righteous; I don't know where she gets her confidence.
Ma Hehua's body convulsed and trembled, making Chen Zhiqing's lips twitch.
"What...what's wrong with me? I feel like my body isn't obeying my commands."
Ma Hehua sat there, her body twitching and trembling involuntarily, looking quite strange.
"What...what's wrong with me? I feel like my body isn't obeying my commands."
Ma Hehua said in a panic, her voice filled with fear.
She tried to control her body, but found that she was powerless to do so.
At this moment, her Asura Body seemed to be activated upon contact with the surrounding black demonic energy.
The demonic energy surged towards her like a cat smelling fish, relentlessly eroding her body.
"Oh no, could it be that my dad has some kind of hereditary epilepsy?"
"bump!"
A large hole was torn in the roof of the carriage, and Ma Hehua was floating on the roof with a blank expression.
Seeing Ma Hehua's condition, the demonic bear felt a pang of anxiety.
It knew all too well the power of this demonic energy; once it was completely corrupted, the consequences would be unimaginable.
"Quick, hold her down! This demonic energy entering her body is no joke!" the demonic bear shouted.
Ma Linghua didn't even glance at it. "What are you yelling about? Go find your mirage beast."
“Pear Blossom, go and see if there are any wild animals that your mother killed in this area.”
"Grandma, I know."
Lieutenant Chen didn't dare to be careless either. Looking at the soldiers behind him, he realized there weren't many left.
What happened?
Before he could react, the surrounding thorns began to twist and turn, then suddenly dragged a soldier deeper into the depths.
It was wrapped up so tightly that it died before it could even make a sound.
Lieutenant Chen swallowed hard, then pulled out his gun and fired a shot.
"biu!"
Unexpectedly, it worked; the vines immediately began to burn.
However, that insignificant force was utterly incapable of stopping the thousands upon thousands of thorns.
"I never thought I'd fall into the hands of these monsters. Commander, I'm ashamed of myself. I'm afraid the young master won't be able to come back with me."
The adjutant's eyes were filled with grief, regret, sorrow, and ruthlessness.
What are you howling about?
Seeing that only Deputy Officer Chen was left, Ma Linghua said, which was rare for her, "Saving a life is better than building a seven-story pagoda. I'm just too kind-hearted. Alright, go into the carriage and keep an eye on your weakling young master."
Lieutenant Chen: "…………………………"
Chen Zhiqing sat calmly in the carriage, seemingly unafraid of the lotus flowers still floating overhead.
"Young Master, I almost didn't see you again! Are you alright? Are you hungry? Thirsty? Cold?"
Chen Zhiqing: "……………………"
