Chapter 354 Lotus Flowers, Ready for Battle

“Pear Blossom, cooking has always been an exception for Grandma. It’s always been done by men. You can’t cook.”

Ma Linghua frowned as she spoke, a strange sense of unease rising within her at the thought of those "money-losing goods."

In her mind, it didn't seem like a proper thing for a woman to cook; this traditional idea was deeply ingrained in her.

Ma Lihua said helplessly, "Grandma, I don't want to either! But your cooking is getting more and more outrageous, I just can't stand it anymore."

She found her grandmother's cooking unbearable; the strange tastes and indescribable culinary disasters had tormented her stomach.

Every time she faced the food her grandmother cooked, she felt like it was a nightmare, but she was helpless.

"Go sit down, I'll get it done."

As she spoke, Ma Linghua rolled up her sleeves and headed towards the simple kitchen.

Watching her grandmother's retreating figure, Ma Lihua sighed inwardly, "When will this ever end?"

She began to reflect on her life and realized that she couldn't continue like this.

The thought of her mother lying there and still suffering at her grandmother's hands filled her with even more fear.

Meanwhile, in another scene, "General, twenty years have passed, and you still can't let go of the young master?"

Looking at the white-haired man, Lieutenant Chen felt a pang of sadness.

The general before me bore the deep marks of time on his face, his white hair seemingly telling tales of the vicissitudes he had endured and the ruthlessness of the years.

"Zhiqing will come back. I can wait."

The man's voice was full of vicissitudes, and his eyes revealed a firm yet somewhat confused light.

Twenty years is enough time to change many things, but his longing and waiting for his son never changed.

This expectation has become a part of his life, supporting him through one lonely day after another.

"Wan'er is gone. How many more years can this old body of mine hold on? Zhiqing will come back."

He often sat alone in his study, looking at the things his son used to use, and reminiscing about the times they discussed military matters and rode horses together.

Over the course of those long twenty years, he rejected the advice of many people and insisted on believing that Zhiqing would return.

Lieutenant Chen's life became increasingly simple; aside from handling some necessary military affairs, he spent the rest of his time waiting.

His subordinates admired his persistence but were also helpless, and he couldn't let go of his adjutant, Chen.

He couldn't bring himself to start a new life, but every time he saw the commander's determined eyes, he swallowed his words back.

When he returned, the commander-in-chief was not too surprised to see him and even recalled him to the army.

At night, the commander often stood alone in the courtyard, gazing at the bright moon in the sky.

After his wife's death, his figure appeared particularly lonely in the moonlight, his weathered face filled with longing for the past and uncertainty about the future.

The warlord wars never ceased, seemingly without end. Everyone wanted more power and more resources, and ordinary people in the streets and villages were left homeless.

Under the shadow of war, the world seemed to have fallen into a chaotic darkness.

War is cruel; it is like a ferocious beast that mercilessly devours all that is beautiful.

Life becomes as fragile as an ant in the flames of war, and can be crushed at any moment. Homes are reduced to ruins in the smoke of battle, and the warmth and peace of the past are gone forever.

If you don't fight for it, plenty of others will.

If you don't fight for it, plenty of others will.

This is a brutal depiction of the reality of war.

In this battlefield filled with bloodshed and slaughter, everyone is caught up in an inescapable race for survival.

For the sake of their own interests, rights, and lives, they are forced to make difficult choices, as if they were on a single-plank bridge with no way back, and could only go all the way to the end, with no way to retreat.

The soldiers wore worn-out uniforms, their eyes revealing a complex mix of exhaustion and determination.

In 1931, during the Republic of China era, Japan launched an incident and occupied the three northeastern provinces.

"General, retreat quickly!"

Everywhere there were refugees, everywhere was filled with gunfire. "Escape? Where could we escape to?"

In 1937, during the Republic of China era, the Cherry Blossom Kingdom launched a full-scale invasion of the Flower Kingdom, marking the beginning of the war and a fierce struggle against the Sea City.

Ma Hehua suddenly opened her eyes, and in that instant, it seemed as if a mysterious and violent power was awakening within her.

Her scarlet eyes gleamed with a chilling light, as if burning with endless rage and madness.

Sharp teeth were faintly visible in the slightly open mouth, as if ready to tear anything apart at any moment.

Her skin was delicate and fair, yet it added a touch of horror to the eerie atmosphere, as if it had been carefully nurtured by some evil force, yet also endowed with a violent quality.

Her long, jet-black hair cascaded down her shoulders like a waterfall, swaying gently with her slightest movements, but instead of adding any sense of softness, it gave off a creepy feeling.

Meanwhile, after a difficult search, Ma Lihua finally found a way out.

However, this path of hope has a fatal flaw—the teleportation location is not very stable and is random.

She stood at that seemingly hopeful crossroads, her feelings a mixture of complexity and trepidation.

On the one hand, this is a possible way for them to get out of their predicament, a free exit.

On the other hand, the unstable random teleportation filled her with worry and anxiety.

She didn't know where they would be teleported to; it could be a safe place, or it could be a more dangerous unknown territory.

But she knew that she didn't have many choices at this moment. She could only grit her teeth and prepare to face the unknown fate. With a glimmer of hope, she decided to bravely step towards the uncertain teleportation point.
