Chapter 390 Come on! Let's see who poisons whom!

In the vast desert, the scorching sun shines high, baking the sand until it's burning hot.

Ma Hehua, Ma Linghua, and Ma Lihua struggled forward.

Ma Hehua's face was flushed, her tongue lolled out from her chapped lips, and her eyes were full of longing.

"Mother, could you give me some water?"

Her voice was weak and hoarse.

Ma Linghua retorted angrily, "Drink water? My ass! You just wait and see!"

Her anger had not yet subsided, and thinking about what had happened before, she realized she had almost ruined her reputation.

Just then, Ma Hehua exclaimed excitedly, "Mom, there's a forest ahead! Hurry!" As if she had seen hope, she wanted to find a tree to escape the heat.

Ma Linghua instantly became alert, her eyes narrowing slightly as she carefully observed what lay ahead.

The forest seemed out of place in the desert, and the surrounding air seemed to have an eerie quality.

Without any transition, a lush green area suddenly appears, which is illogical.

Ma Linghua raised her hand to signal the two people behind her to stop. She squatted down, grabbed a handful of sand, and let it flow through her fingers as she pondered.

A gentle breeze blew by, carrying some fine sand.

Ma Hehua looked anxiously at her mother, then couldn't help but look towards the forest, her eyes full of anticipation.

Ma Linghua stood up and slowly walked towards the forest, her steps light and tentative.

In this desolate desert, something that suddenly appears may be hiding great danger.

Sweat streamed down her face, but she didn't bother wiping it away, focusing intently on her surroundings.

That mysterious forest stood silently under the scorching sun, as if waiting for their arrival, or perhaps hiding countless unknown secrets.

"Let's go in!"

Whatever it is, we have to face it. We'll deal with them one by one. Over the years, they've kept a lot of low profile.

The moment they stepped into the oasis, the three members of the Ma family were stunned by the sight before them.

Beneath my feet was tender green grass, like a soft green carpet, with unnamed wildflowers scattered among the grass, creating a colorful scene.

The butterflies fluttered and danced, as if they had been transported to another world.

However, this beauty is tinged with an indescribable eeriness.

"Hiss hiss hiss..."

The strange sound broke the brief silence and echoed around them. The three of them immediately became alert, standing on the grass and nervously scanning their surroundings.

In the dense thicket of green plants, countless eyes could be seen appearing and disappearing, like a multitude of prying eyes hidden in the darkness.

Ma Hehua's heart leaped into her throat, and her hand unconsciously tightened its grip on the large knife in her hand.

Suddenly, a blur flashed by like lightning. Ma Hehua reacted instinctively, reaching out to grab it, only to find a scarlet tongue in her hand.

The wet, sticky tongue made her feel nauseous.

"What is this thing?"

Ma Linghua quickly pulled Ma Lihua behind her, her eyes fixed intently on the front.

The tongue was still wriggling in Ma Hehua's hand, as if trying to break free. The surrounding air seemed to freeze, and the tense atmosphere made it hard to breathe.

A gentle breeze rustled the flowers and grass, but it only added to the eerie atmosphere.

"Get out here right now, you old bastard."

With a forceful pull, she dragged out the source of the tongue, which was a large, brown monitor lizard. It retracted its tongue and stared coldly at Ma Hehua.

With excitement gleaming in her eyes, Ma Linghua said in this dangerous place that seemed like an oasis but was actually an illusion, "This is the oasis, and the treasure is right here."

Ma Hehua asked with a puzzled look, "What treasure?"

Ma Linghua quickly explained, "There's a treasure called the Green Pearl, which can suppress the corpse poison in Master Baige's body and is one of the most important antidotes."

Ma Hehua then asked, "Where should we look?"

Ma Lihua's gaze was fixed on the distance, and she steadily raised one hand: "Inside its belly."

Following the direction of the finger, you can see a huge monitor lizard, with a small female lizard hiding beside it.

Upon hearing this, Ma Hehua did not hesitate at all.

She took a deep breath, squatted slightly, and then shot out like an arrow.

She moved like a nimble swallow, her figure light and agile. She drew an arc in the air, her clothes fluttering in the wind, her eyes fixed on her target.

The wind whistled past her ears, as if cheering her on. She moved incredibly fast, the grass beneath her feet like green waves rushing past.

As she approached the monitor lizard, she drew a large knife from behind her back, the blade gleaming coldly in the sunlight.

The monitor lizard seemed to sense the danger, opening its massive jaws and letting out a low roar while twisting its enormous body.

But Ma Hehua did not back down. She adjusted her posture in mid-air, lightly touched a protruding rock with her toes, and used the momentum to leap up again, flying towards the head of the giant lizard, raising the large knife in her hand high.

Just as Ma Hehua was about to charge at the monitor lizard, a stream of green liquid shot out like an arrow, splattering directly onto her face.

Ma Hehua's hand froze instantly. She turned her head and saw that the little female lizard was opening its mouth, seemingly still gloating over its "attack".

"Damn it! A sneak attack? You little bitch, do you think you're the only one who can spit?"

Ma Hehua shouted angrily, her cheeks puffed out in rage.

She's not the kind of person who'll let a "lizard" bully her.

Ma Hehua quickly gathered a mouthful of saliva in her mouth, then forcefully spat it at the little lizard. "Hmph! Ptooey!" The saliva drew an arc in the air and landed precisely in the mother lizard's mouth.

The mother lizard was stunned at first, her eyes filled with disbelief, then she hissed in pain and began to vomit, "Ugh~ ugh~".

No one expected that Ma Hehua would not be poisoned by the lizard's saliva, but rather the mother lizard would be the one to be poisoned.

Its body was convulsing violently, and its four legs were kicking wildly on the grass.

The once lush green grass was trampled into a mess, with dirt flying everywhere and grass blades broken.

Its eyes were wide open, and its green pupils seemed to bulge out.

Its body twisted into a bizarre shape, and its tail lashed out incessantly, striking the rocks and plants nearby.

The surrounding monitor lizards seemed to be startled by this scene, and for a moment they were so quiet that only the mother lizard's struggles and Mahehua's heavy breathing, which was still not calmed by anger, could be heard.

Ma Hehua wiped the juice from her face, gripped the knife tightly again, and looked resolutely at the group of monitor lizards.

"Hmph! Just because I'm not showing my power doesn't mean I'm a pushover! Spitting is something anyone can do!"

"Grandma, my mom's saliva... is amazing."

Ma Lihua was dumbfounded; did they have to be so poisonous?

"That's pretty impressive. Next time you eat, don't let your mom talk. If she spits into the food, we'll have to clean up the mess."

Then it will be others eating at their feast.
