Suddenly, a loud shout shattered the terrifying atmosphere.
Before they could react, Ma Hehua, that dimwit, pounced on the water ghost and they both went into the river.
"Boom! Bang!"
The loud noise stunned everyone.
"Splash...splash...help...help me!...ah..." One pitiful cry after another came from the river.
The sound was particularly eerie in the quiet night, sending chills down one's spine.
The river seemed to be enraged by this sudden change, surging with waves. The water bride struggled in the water, her figure appearing and disappearing in the dark river.
Ma Hehua clung tightly to her, saying, "Little cutie, don't run away! Come here, I'm so thirsty."
