Stop? That's impossible. Ma Hehua seized the opportunity and, once the ghost of the Taoist priest had formed, stabbed him directly with her broadsword.
"ah!"
The ghost let out a scream, and Ma Hehua used the Soul-Capturing Bell to suppress it. She then increased the pressure on her hands and only stopped when the ghost had breathed its last.
"How dare you harm ghosts and obstruct our work! You are utterly arrogant!"
A man wearing a white hat said indignantly.
Ma Hehua looked the two men up and down, and the more she looked at them, the more she disliked them. Why were the Black and White Impermanence two grown men? Couldn't women be the ones to do it?
Ma Hehua held a large knife, the blade still bearing the faint glow of the Taoist priest's ghost as it dissipated. She stood there, her posture upright yet exuding a fierce and ruthless aura.
She tilted her head and looked at the indignant White Impermanence, a disdainful smile curling at the corner of her lips.
"Hmph, you Black and White Impermanence are showing off now. Ghosts are evil by nature, so what if I kill them?"
Ma Hehua's voice was like ice shards, sounding particularly jarring in this eerie atmosphere.
Bai Wuchang's face turned even paler with anger, and the mourning stick in his hand trembled slightly, as if he was about to swing it at Ma Hehua at any moment.
Black Impermanence watched coldly from the side, not saying a word, but the chill emanating from his body grew stronger.
Ma Hehua, however, paid no attention. She slung the broadsword over her shoulder and flicked the Soul-Capturing Bell with her fingers. The crisp sound of the bell rang out in the tense atmosphere, as if it were a silent provocation to the Black and White Impermanence.
“I don’t accept any of your rules. Good and evil should be clearly distinguished in this world. Those evil people commit countless atrocities, and even after they die, they become ghosts and want to continue to cause harm. I’m just acting on behalf of Heaven and helping you to lighten your burden. In fact, you have to give me money.”
Ma Hehua's gaze was sharp as she stared intently at Bai Wuchang.
Black Impermanence: "…………………………"
"Are they so obsessed with money?"
"That's just sophistry!" Bai Wuchang roared angrily.
"Arguing illogically? I don't have time for that. If you're not satisfied, come and try. I, Ma Hehua, am not afraid of you. If you catch me, I'll give you... hehehe!"
Black and White Impermanence: "………………………"
This woman is crazy; she's probably mentally ill.
Having said that, Ma Hehua gripped her broadsword tightly, adopting a fighting stance, her aura fully unleashed, and she locked in a stalemate with the Black and White Impermanence in this eerie space.
Ma Hehua frowned slightly, and a bad premonition spread rapidly in her heart like vines.
Her gaze swept back and forth between the Black and White Impermanence, trying to find a flaw in their expressions, but all she saw was an indescribable cold light in their eyes.
Bai Wuchang gritted his teeth and said, "You arrogant woman, don't think you can escape this calamity. We were just following the rules, but you interfered and ruined our job."
Black Impermanence stepped forward, the chains in his hands rattling loudly, a sound as piercing as a death knell.
"Hmph, you think you can do whatever you want just because you have that big sword and the Soul-Capturing Bell? The rules of the Underworld are not something you can trample on at will."
Ma Hehua gripped her broadsword tightly, feigning composure as she said, "Don't try to scare me. I, Ma Hehua, am not easily frightened. This ghost should be exorcised. If you try to use me to complete your mission, aren't you afraid your superiors will blame you for being unable to distinguish right from wrong?"
This time, her intelligence finally kicked in.
White Impermanence sneered, "Don't try to deny it. We were ordered to capture the soul, but you killed it. That's your fault. We were forced into this situation. If we don't take you back, my brother and I will also be punished."
Ma Hehua pondered to herself, never expecting that her momentary impulsiveness would cause such a big trouble. She wondered if her mother would beat her when she got back.
She racked her brains for a solution, but seeing the Black and White Impermanence's increasingly aggressive stance, she became somewhat irritated.
The arrogant expression on his face gradually faded, replaced by a subtle, almost imperceptible, sinister look.
A fierce glint flashed in Ma Hehua's eyes, a resolute light that seemed to freeze the surrounding air.
Her hands trembled slightly, not from fear, but from excitement dancing at her fingertips.
Let's just go all the way and send them both on their way. Sending one person is the same as sending two, so sending three people on the road... no... at least they'll have company in the air.
This crazy idea grew wildly in her mind like weeds, instantly taking over her entire brain.
At this moment, her expression changed from worry to arrogance, and the corners of her mouth turned up slightly, forming a twisted arc, like a demon that had walked out of hell.
The malice hidden in that smile was like a sharp knife, easily slicing through the calm facade.
The Black and White Impermanence exchanged a glance, both seeing a hint of unease in each other's eyes.
The usually pale face of Bai Wuchang seemed even paler now, his black robe swaying slightly in the wind, as if driven by unease.
The chains of the Black Impermanence trembled involuntarily in his hands, making a slight rattling sound.
"Do not resist, come with us to the underworld to confess your sins."
Bai Wuchang shouted sharply, but there was a hint of bluffing in his voice.
"Fine, fine, fine! Confess... I'll confess to any crime you want. You two good-for-nothings, get on your way!"
Ma Hehua suddenly leaped up, her movements as swift as lightning.
Her movements seemed haphazard, yet they possessed a kind of frenzied power.
She charged toward the Black and White Impermanence with lightning speed, a gleaming dagger appearing in her hand—a miniature version of the Dark Moon Scimitar.
