"Oh! Linghua, what brings you back?"
Li Zhongguo's voice was filled with surprise, a surprise that was like a ship with its sails fully unfurled, so full it was about to overflow.
But behind this surprise lurked a hint of guilt, like dark clouds obscuring the sun, only the clouds weren't big enough; he hoped that his fishing trip yesterday hadn't been discovered.
Ma Linghua saw all of this, and anger burned in her eyes, as if it could ignite the surrounding air.
"What's wrong? Feeling guilty? Did you find a mistress behind my back?"
The sound was like a thunderclap, ringing in Li Zhongguo's ears.
Li Zhongguo looked bewildered, his eyes wide open like saucers, full of question marks.
"No, Linghua, what mistress?"
"You don't know what a mistress is? She's a concubine or mistress."
Ma Linghua's chest heaved with anger, like an enraged lioness.
Upon hearing this, Li Zhongguo immediately became alert, his face plastered with a fawning smile that looked more like a grimace.
“Linghua, you know that I only have you in my heart. In all these decades, none of the sows I’ve seen are as pretty as you. How could I possibly fall for someone else?”
The moment those words were spoken, the surrounding air seemed to freeze for a moment.
Ma Linghua frowned, feeling that something was off about what she was saying, but she didn't have much education and couldn't figure it out for a moment.
She didn't care about any of that; she just felt an uncontrollable rage erupting in her heart, like a volcano.
"Enough with the nonsense, come home with me, and I'll teach you a lesson."
As she spoke, she reached out and grabbed Li Zhongguo's ear with a force as strong as an iron clamp.
Li Zhongguo grimaced in pain, but dared not resist. He was dragged out of People's Park by Ma Linghua by the ear.
Those around watched this scene, some covering their mouths and snickering, while others shook their heads, thinking that old Li looked really pitiful.
As soon as they reached the entrance of the courtyard house, Li Zhongguo and Ma Linghua spotted a young woman loitering around.
Her appearance gave off a sneaky vibe. The woman's hair was carefully braided, with a pink bow at the end that swayed slightly with her movements, like a restless butterfly.
She was wearing a white dress, the white of which was dazzling in the sunlight, and the hem of the dress swayed gently in the breeze.
The white high heels on her feet were exquisite, making a slight sound with each step, as if tapping out some mysterious rhythm.
The stockings on her legs gleamed slightly, adding to her allure. A small bag slung over her shoulder, and she appeared stylish and beautiful, but her shifty-eyed look completely ruined it all.
She would steal glances at the courtyard from time to time, her eyes like those of a cat stealing fish, with an unknown purpose in mind.
"bump!"
Without saying a word, Ma Linghua kicked the woman hard in the buttocks.
That kick was so satisfying! The woman staggered from the kick and screamed, "Ouch! Who's there?" Her voice was delicate and high-pitched, as if she was squeezing her buttocks with all her might. It made Ma Linghua feel nauseous.
The sound seemed out of place at the entrance of the courtyard house, like a rotten stone suddenly thrown into a calm lake, creating unpleasant ripples.
Ma Linghua frowned, her eyes filled with disgust and vigilance. She thought to herself, this woman is obviously no good. Peeking and spying at other people's doors, she must have ill intentions and might be up to something bad.
The woman turned back to look at Ma Linghua with a mixture of fear and anger, "What...what are you doing? You have no manners at all."
Upon hearing the woman's words, Ma Linghua's lips curled up slightly, and a hint of mockery flashed in her eyes.
"You're sneaking around in front of my house, and you're talking to me about manners?"
Her voice suddenly rose, tinged with sarcasm and disdain, "Didn't your mother give you a brain when she gave birth to you?"
These words were harsh and vicious, like a sharp knife piercing the other person's vitals.
Ma Linghua's gaze was like two torches, scrutinizing the woman from head to toe. "Look at how you're dressed, just like those prostitutes in brothels. What's wrong? Are you desperate for a man? Or did you come here because you smelled so slutty?"
Each word was like a cannonball, exploding in the air and filling the air with the strong smell of gunpowder.
It must be said that Ma Linghua's words are far more shrewd than Ma Hehua's; every word she utters is piercing yet perfectly reasonable.
Like a precise scalpel, it peeled away the woman's disguise layer by layer, exposing her shameful thoughts.
"You...you're a complete shrew! Who are you calling a prostitute? I'm a respectable college student, don't try to slander me."
The woman's face flushed red with anger, like a boiled shrimp, her eyes burning with fury as she gritted her teeth and replied.
Her chest heaved violently, like an angry yet somewhat guilty little beast, struck where it hurt by Ma Linghua's words, yet unwilling to admit defeat, attempting to use her status as a college student to build a protective wall for herself and salvage a shred of dignity.
But her panicked eyes betrayed her; under Ma Linghua's sharp gaze, she began to lose her footing.
"Uncle Fu, there are stray dogs outside our house. How are you going to guard it?"
Ma Linghua shouted at the top of her lungs toward the door, her voice carrying a hint of authority and anger, echoing in the courtyard.
A moment later, Uncle Fu slowly opened the door and came out. He looked calm and composed, and the wrinkles etched on his face by time seemed to carry an air of unhurried ease.
He bowed respectfully to Ma Linghua and said, "Madam, please calm down. I'll handle this right away. Please take the old man back to his room and rest. You must be tired after all this day. The young lady has been wanting to see you since she woke up, so please don't delay her."
