Chapter 457 The Ghost is Coming

When Ma Hehua arrived at the dance hall, she was still very happy, but she felt that something was wrong with the atmosphere around her.

"Fa Gui, don't you think something's not right?"

"What's wrong, Lotus? Is...is there something dirty?"

Li Fagui immediately became alert and hid behind Ma Hehua.

"Sizzle sizzle..."

The soft music in the lobby started to stutter.

The sound was quite a shock to everyone's eardrums.

"What happened?"

"I don't know, maybe there's something wrong with the sound system!"

People didn't take it seriously.

However, the air grew colder and colder. Ma Hehua didn't feel it, but Li Fagui started shivering.

"What's wrong with you, you're so expensive?"

"It's cold, so cold, Lotus, are you cold?"

"You're not cold! It must be because you're too weak. Just ask Uncle Fu to stew some ginseng for you when you get home to help you recover."

She disagreed.

"What's going on? Aren't you cold?"

"It's so cold. Isn't there heating? Is it broken?"

Men and women alike started making a scene.

"Look, there's a person flying in mid-air."

As a woman shouted, everyone looked up.

The lights in the ballroom began to flicker, and the person in mid-air, dressed in white with long, flowing hair, floated slowly with their feet dangling in the air.

Her face was covered by her hair, revealing only a pair of pale hands with long, sharp nails that gleamed with an eerie, cold light.

Terrified screams erupted from the crowd: "Ah! A ghost! It's a ghost! Run!" People began to frantically rush towards the door.

But the door that could have been easily pushed open was now completely still, as if it had been sealed off from the outside by some enormous force.

Ma Hehua stood motionless beside the dance hall. She pulled Li Fagui, only to find that Li Fagui's body was as cold as a stone, his lips were purple, and his eyes were filled with fear.

"Fa Gui, Fa Gui, don't scare me!" Ma Hehua cried out anxiously.

The surrounding temperature continued to drop, and people's breath turned into white mist.

Dark red bloodstains appeared on the wall at some unknown time, flowing slowly as if they were alive, emitting a pungent, fishy smell.

Suddenly, the white-clad female ghost in mid-air let out a chilling laugh, a sound that seemed to pierce through one's soul and send shivers down one's spine.

Her hair was parted to the sides, revealing a bloodless face with bloody tears streaming from her eyes. Her gaping, dark mouth seemed to be about to devour everyone.

At this moment, blurry figures appeared in the mirrors of the dance hall. Those figures twisted and struggled, like evil spirits imprisoned in another world, trying their best to break through the mirror and come to the human world.

The cries and pleas for help from the people in the hall were all intertwined, but all of this was drowned out by the endless terror.

"Click, click, click!"

The flickering sparks were particularly glaring in the darkness. The tablecloth in Ma Hehua's hand was ignited, and the flames leaped up, dispelling some of the chill.

The orange flames illuminated the faces of those around them, which were filled with fear and panic.

Li Fagui's lips trembled, but his eyes remained fixed on the terrifying white-clad female ghost in mid-air.

"Lotus, let's hurry up and get out of here!"

Li Fagui was terrified. At a time like this, why would he start a fire?

"Aren't you cold if you don't light the fire?"

"Won't it be cold if we go outside?"

Li Fagui said.

"I can't get out! If I could, I would have left long ago."

Ma Hehua looked at him as if he were an idiot.

"Then...what should we do?"

"Don't rush, I'll light a fire, and we'll stay around the fire. Just don't go there. We'll leave after the ghosts have eaten their fill."

Is this even human language?

Although the people around were disgusted by Ma Hehua's words, they had no other choice but to huddle together around the fire, as if it were the only lifeline in the darkness.

The vengeful spirits in the mirror grew increasingly frenzied, their figures constantly crashing against the mirror surface, each impact accompanied by a chilling scream.

The sound was like a sharp blade, piercing straight into people's eardrums and stirring their fragile nerves.

Some of the vengeful ghosts had their skin peeled off, revealing stark white bones, and their eye sockets burned with eerie green flames.

Some bodies were twisted into incredible angles, their limbs dancing like vines, their fingernails leaving deep marks on the mirror surface, as if they were about to break through the mirror at any moment.

The flames flickered in the air, the surrounding temperature remained low, and a chill swept in from all directions.

Ma Hehua remained as steady as an old dog, holding the flint in her hand and scanning her surroundings warily.

Li Fagui clung tightly to her, his body trembling uncontrollably, muttering incoherently, whether in prayer or incoherent babbling out of fear.

Low sobs could be heard from time to time in the crowd. Everyone knew that this fire could only bring temporary comfort, while the unknown terror was like a giant net, slowly closing in on them.

"Yin Fire".

The white-clad female ghost in the air coldly uttered these two words, her voice seemingly coming from the deepest hell, carrying a chilling aura.

"Oh! You know your stuff! You've been to the underworld?" Ma Hehua looked at the female ghost with admiration, as if she had met a kindred spirit, showing no fear whatsoever.

The female ghost was taken aback by her reaction and frowned slightly.

"I haven't been there, but I've seen it," the female ghost replied coldly, a hint of doubt in her eyes, wondering why this human woman was so bold.

"By the way, how did you die? It's quite something that you came out in this freezing weather."
