Chapter 5 Who's Laughing

It was almost sunset when the three children of the Ma family finished doing the things that Granny Wang had instructed them to do.

Ma Hehua's white lantern was a little distorted, but it didn't matter, it was still usable. Ma Linghua folded a large pile of brass paper money and filled a white urea bag to the brim.

Ma Lihua was somewhat dissatisfied with the ox-head and horse-face figures she had made, as their expressions were a bit off, but she thought they were passable!

Looking at Ma Lihua's ox-head and horse-faced amulets, Granny Wang said with some reluctance, "Lihua, this is a ghost marriage! You can't use ox-head and horse-faced amulets. This one can't be used. How about your mother-in-law gives it to you?"

Ma Lihua thought for a moment and nodded. This was her first time making something by hand. Since Grandma Wang didn't like it, she would just take it home. Anyway, her mother could carry it.

"Slap slap slap slap..."

The wooden door of Granny Wang's house rang again. Needless to say, it must be Hu Erniang.

When the door was opened, the three members of the Ma family saw not only Hu Erniang, but also most of the middle-aged men and women from Laoying Village.

"Everything is ready. Come in and move all these props to Luo Dajia. By the way, Second Aunt, your son drowned, didn't he?" Granny Wang asked.

Hu Erniang was stunned for a moment. Didn't Granny Wang know? Besides, it was Granny Wang who cast a spell to retrieve her son!

However, she still answered seriously: "Yes, she drowned, and it was thanks to your help that my Er Gou was able to pull her out."

Granny Wang nodded, then called the three members of the Ma family to go to Luo's house together. They hadn't eaten all day and were starving!

“Sister, we haven’t even eaten yet. I need to protect you. I can’t do it without strength,” Ma Hehua whispered to Granny Wang.

Granny Wang smiled and said, "Sister, how could I not let you eat? Don't worry, we'll get down to business after we eat."

Hearing her say that, Ma Linghua felt relieved, and Ma Hehua also felt relieved. They were determined to act quickly and accurately later.

In Eagle Village, the houses are very close together. Most of the houses are made of stone, some are made of mud, and very few are made of wood.

There are quite a few people in the village, including many young people, some of whom are children on holiday.

The stone-paved road was much easier to walk on than in Black Wind Village. Every household still used kerosene lamps, but quite a few young people used mobile phones.

So Ma Hehua asked a girl next to her curiously, "Wow! That's great! Your village still has cell phone signal around here!"

The girl, engrossed in her phone, didn't pay much attention and said without looking up, "Yeah, it's that cell tower on Black Mountain. I wonder which good person owns it."

Ma Hehua paused for a moment. Wasn't that something her husband had set up for their family? Damn it, these people are shameless, actually taking advantage of her family's cell tower for free.

"Mother, what's wrong?" Ma Lihua asked, looking at Ma Hehua, whose complexion was not good.

"Daughter, our cell tower has been used without permission. Do you think we should make them pay the fee?" Ma Hehua couldn't let others take advantage of her family.

Ma Lihua:………………………………

Seriously, this mother is no good. Before she could even speak, the group arrived at Luo's house.

Ma Hehua stared intently at the dishes on the table. "Not bad," she thought, "conditions have improved, and the level of banquets has risen considerably."

"Grandma Wang, hurry up and eat! It's almost time," Hu Erniang urged, worried that they might be delayed.

"I know what I'm doing, no rush, no rush." As soon as she finished speaking, she prepared to call the three members of the Ma family to dinner, but they were nowhere to be seen.

The three members of the Ma family sat on the stools, their eyes gleaming green, looking incredibly frightening.

Seeing Ma Hehua pull out a white plastic bag from somewhere, the meat dishes that hadn't been served yet were poured directly into the bag, leaving only three plates of vegetarian dishes.

Looking at the empty plates on the table, Granny Wang was dumbfounded. She stood blankly in front of the table, her lips moving as if she wanted to say something, but was interrupted by Ma Linghua.

"Sister, come and eat! What are you waiting for? Don't blame me if you don't have the energy to work later!" Ma Linghua picked up her bowl and shoveled rice into her mouth, also piling on lots of vegetables.

Looking at the three women of the Ma family, Granny Wang almost lost her composure.

Damn it! Was she a reincarnated starving ghost? She started packing up the leftovers before even eating? Not only did we not leave her any food, but she also ate all her rice.

Granny Wang numbly held the empty bowl, looking at Hu Erniang somewhat awkwardly, and shamelessly asked, "Erniang, is there any more food?"

Hu Erniang shook her head in disbelief. There was definitely no way to make it now. Her master had gone home, and the fire had been extinguished. It would be too late to make it again, as her son was getting married!

Ma Hehua's stomach was about to burst from eating. It's no wonder she was like this; she hadn't eaten since the meal she had at home that morning. Besides, the Ma family has unusual health conditions, so they have huge appetites.

Despite her delicate appearance, Ma Lihua ate quite quickly, finishing three large bowls. Ma Linghua ate five bowls, and if there hadn't been no more rice, she could have eaten another one.

"Oh my god! This dish tastes so much better than what I make. If it were my own cooking, two bowls of rice would be enough," Ma Linghua thought to herself.

After the three members of the Ma family had eaten and drunk their fill, all the kerosene lamps in the village were extinguished.

"What's wrong? Why is the light off? I just filled up with gas this morning."

"My family is the same; the oil lamp won't light up."

"Damn, that's really scary. Ever since Luo Dajia's Er Gou died, strange things have been happening in the village lately."

"You bet you have heard laughter lately? I hear it every time I get up to use the bathroom at night."

As soon as the woman finished speaking, a few soft laughs rang out around her. No one paid any attention, assuming it was someone from the village. But then they began to feel that something was amiss.

"hehe…………"

“Eeeeeeeeyayayaya…”

"Hehe...hehe...hehe..."

The surrounding temperature dropped rapidly, the sound became clearer and clearer, a cold wind blew in at night, and the moon was revealed in the sky.

The hoarse cry of Yewazi came from the old locust tree overhead, sending chills down everyone's spines.

Suddenly, bursts of extremely sharp laughter reached everyone's ears.

The eerie laughter echoed in the silent night, carrying an endless chill that made one feel uneasy and caused the hairs on one's body to stand on end.

Upon closer listening, it was the sound of a woman's laughter.

Her laughter was like a violent storm, sweeping across every corner, filled with evil and terror, making it impossible to resist.

"Gurgle...gurgle..."

The old woman stood up, hungry. It seemed the ghost marriage was off. Didn't she see the bride was unhappy?

Moreover, the bride probably has ill intentions.
