Chapter 187 Night Candle Rules (End) "For my excellent skills..."
Mo Gui's sudden collision shattered the strange atmosphere.
Zhou Yiming suppressed all his emotions, reverting to his cold and arrogant expression. He glanced at Mo Gui, who looked wary, and said to Nanmen Jue, "Think carefully about what I said."
After saying that, he left without looking back.
Watching him gradually disappear into the distance, Mo Gui then turned to look at Nanmen Jue.
He thought of so many things he wanted to say to Nanmen Jue. He wanted to say that no matter if you are a man or a woman, I will always follow you. He wanted to say that he would accept his condolences. He wanted to say that you still have us, the people who love you. Although he was very unhappy with his rival, he was sincerely grateful that there were still people who loved Nanmen Jue. If his love alone was not enough, what about all of their love combined? Could it make up for Nanmen Jue's loss?
He had thought about so much, more than he had ever done when he stayed up all night preparing for exams, but when he saw Nanmen Jue's calm and indifferent face, all his words fell silent.
"Brother Jue..." In his confusion, he subconsciously called out the name he was most used to.
Nanmen Jue did not respond. He lowered his head in frustration, cursing himself inwardly for being useless. His strength was of no help, and his feelings could not bring him any comfort. Sure enough, for someone like him, whom even his parents and brothers despised, it was wishful thinking to think he could be of any use.
Mo Gui lowered his head, his eyes beginning to well up with tears. He sniffed and whispered, "I'm worried about you. I won't bother you. I'll just follow behind you, okay?"
He felt Nanmen Jue's gaze fall on his face, and he became nervous.
He thought he was going to be kicked out, but Nanmen Jue said, "You come with me."
"Okay... uh?"
Mo Gui suddenly looked up and saw that Nanmen Jue had gone to the next person. He hurriedly followed.
This is a surviving reincarnator named Ziming. When Nanmen Jue was choosing props for him, this person's eyes kept darting around, constantly looking at Nanmen Jue's face.
Mo Gui was all too familiar with that look. Some male reincarnators looked at beautiful female reincarnators with that same gaze. It wasn't the look of someone being appraised; in their eyes, female reincarnators were simply assets and commodities.
Mo Gui was furious. Although he was just a blue-named player, there were so many of them! What kind of audacity did they have to dare to make a move against Nanmen Jue?
For the first time, Mo Gui clearly harbored murderous intent; his eyes turned red. He was about to reach out to stop Nanmen Jue from saving such a heartless bastard when Nanmen Jue stopped.
She gently raised her eyes, her deep pupils staring straight at the man.
The man felt a chill run down his spine as an overwhelming fear enveloped him. Even though Nanmen Jue hadn't made any move, he felt as if the enormous white bone scythe was already pressed against his neck.
How is that possible? Didn't they say before that Nanmen Jue had already cleared his points and lost his power?
Nanmen Jue stared at him expressionlessly. He quickly lost his balance, trembling and hunching over. Then, to his horror, he discovered that his hands were gradually disappearing.
The crimson light reappeared on his hands, and his hands were devoured once more.
"ah!"
The man screamed in agony. The fear that had just escaped death completely shattered his mental defenses. He collapsed to the ground, rolling around like a madman, begging for mercy.
"Help me! Please, let me go!"
"I won't do it again, I'll never do it again!"
The noise quickly attracted the attention of others. Terra and the others rushed over and were stunned when they saw the man's miserable state.
Only then did everyone realize that losing the so-called points was simply losing the protection of the main god.
As for Nanmen Jue... it seems he won't lack divine assistance.
Nanmen Jue coldly watched the man struggle. Now that he was only dealing with one person, he increased his speed considerably. The scarlet light had already devoured the man's hands and arms, and then spread to his body. In no time, his intestines were spilling out.
The man was utterly terrified and forgot to beg for mercy; all he could do was scream and cry wildly.
"Nanmen..." Ji Chengying was still inexperienced and felt uncomfortable seeing this scene. She subconsciously called out Nanmen Jue's name and then turned her head away without feeling sorry for him.
The person Nanmen Jue wanted to kill was probably not a good person, but she found it hard to get used to killing.
After being called out, Nanmen Jue actually withdrew the light spot.
They even restored the man's body to its original state.
The man had lost his senses; he huddled on the ground, repeatedly saying, "I was wrong," and "I won't do it again."
Nanmen Jue didn't look at him again and turned to walk towards the next person.
The group fell silent, exchanging solemn glances.
Nanmen Jue appears to be fine, but he is clearly not truly unharmed.
Mo Gui hurriedly followed Nanmen Jue, remembering that Nanmen Jue had told him to follow her.
But he couldn't help much. Nanmen Jue was now so strong that he was inhuman, and he couldn't even be used as a blood pack as a side effect.
After finishing his business here, Nanmen Jue returned to Ying Yao.
Ying Yao was too weak and sat in the corner, his eyes following Nanmen Jue the whole time. When he saw her coming over, he didn't say anything.
“I’ll go find the anchor point; this is more effective than Xiao Nuo.” Nanmen Jue pointed to the earring. Since wearing it, the energy flow of the entire world has become clear at a glance. She could easily see where the point where a large amount of energy was gathered was. “You stay here and don’t leave Terra. Hold on for a few days, and you can go back.”
"Okay." Ying Yao looked at himself now, like a useless person, unable to even stay by Nanmen Jue's side, and his expression couldn't help but darken.
Ultimately, who can trust Nanmen Jue to act alone now?
But he knew Nanmen Jue's personality well; even if he wanted to persuade her to bring someone along, she wouldn't listen.
At this moment, Mo Gui said, "Don't worry, I will stay with Sister Jue..."
He wasn't used to changing how he was addressed, and his tongue always got tied.
"You?" Ying Yao looked at him in astonishment, then at Nanmen Jue. Seeing that she didn't seem inclined to refute him, he opened his mouth, but his words suddenly became difficult to utter, "You're planning to...?"
Ying Yao had an incredible guess, but the connection between anchor points and integrals remained a secret, and he didn't say it directly.
He just looked at Mo Gui again. He didn't understand what it was about this boy who hadn't even grown his hair yet that caught Nanmen Jue's eye and made her go to such lengths for him.
Mo Gui was completely unaware of Yao's one-sided undercurrents, his face showing innocent bewilderment.
Ying Yao finally looked away, knowing that Nanmen Jue's decision would not be changed for anyone.
“Let’s talk in the lobby later, okay?” he said.
Nanmen Jue said, "We'll see."
Without waiting for Ying Yao to say anything more, she stood up and said, "Take care of yourself. I'll figure something out when we get back."
Ying Yao watched her leave in silence, ignoring the others who swarmed around him, asking what Nanmen Jue had gone to do.
...
With the help of Entropy Ash, avoiding the Ghost Realm and finding the world's anchor point is a piece of cake.
Nanmen Jue never explained to Mo Gui what they were going to do. Mo Gui just followed along like an idiot, never asking a single question. He did whatever Nanmen Jue told him to do without uttering a single unnecessary word.
Until the anchor point is found.
The anchor of this world is a big tree, whose sap can be used to make candles to ward off evil. Everything seems to be foreshadowed. The main god is really not very original.
Nanmen Jue pointed to the tree roots and said, "Dig."
"Oh." Mo Gui started digging without saying a word.
"Huh, what's this?" He dug out a sparkling bead. "Jewelry? This light isn't shining quite right."
Nanmen Jue confirmed the existence of the anchor point, then lazily lifted his eyelids and said, "Crush it."
Mo Gui simply said "Oh" and held the bead in his palm without any doubt.
He never even doubted whether he could crush it.
However, to his surprise, the thing seemed to have no mass at all; it crumbled in his hand with a gentle squeeze.
"Jue..." Mo Gui was about to say something when suddenly the earth shook violently.
Mo Gui looked up and his jaw almost dropped. "Sister Jue, the sky... the sky has fallen!"
It wasn't his imagination; the sky was sinking, getting closer and closer to the ground, like the ceiling and floor of a room gradually closing in, about to crush them all!
Nanmen Jue looked up, showing no surprise whatsoever. "We were lucky this time; it was a quick kill."
She has now obtained the Entropy Ashes and has left her own anchor on every native inhabitant of this world. Before the world was compressed into one, she took everyone to another space.
This swift killing benefited the other reincarnators.
If space were to collapse into pieces like before, it's not certain that everyone would survive.
"Sister Jue..."
Nanmen Jue remained calm, and Mo Gui wasn't particularly panicked either. He hadn't been particularly obsessed with survival anyway; so what if he died? He turned to talk to Nanmen Jue, but what he saw stunned him.
Nanmen Jue was looking up at the approaching sky, her expression indifferent. She had a cigarette between her fingers, which she had lit at some point.
When did Sister Jue start smoking?
Mo Gui wanted to ask, but didn't. He just watched Nanmen Jue take puffs of his cigarette, swallowing most of the smoke into his lungs.
Nanmen Jue noticed his gaze, turned to him and curled the corner of his mouth, "Don't worry, it's hard for me to die now."
She appeared to be smiling, but Mo Gui was overwhelmed by a tremendous sadness that made his chest ache and he couldn't breathe.
"It's coming, come here." At the last moment before the sky closed in, Nanmen Jue stubbed out his cigarette and stretched out a hand to Mo Gui.
Mo Gui subconsciously reached out and grasped it, but before he could even savor the feeling of the moment, he was pulled into Nanmen Jue's arms.
"Don't be afraid," Nanmen Jue whispered.
"I'm not afraid," Mo Gui said. With Nanmen Jue around, he wouldn't be afraid to die.
At this moment, Nanmen Jue seemed to have heard something unpleasant, and the corner of his mouth twitched slightly.
The sky crumbles, and the world returns to its original state of lines and planes.
...
The group's return to the main hall caused an uproar.
Whether it's Nanmen Jue, Zhou Yiming, or Terra, they are all prominent figures in the Reincarnation Space. No one expected that these people would actually come together in one world. What kind of hellish world must that be!
Amidst the murmurs, Nanmen Jue and Ying Yao exchanged a glance. Ying Yao wasn't close to her, and before he could come over, she ignored Mo Gui, who was standing there stunned by what she had just discovered, turned around, and hurriedly went up the stairs.
In room 404 on the fourth floor, Nanmen Jue was figuring out how to get in when the door was suddenly opened.
The person who opened the door was a "little girl," about seven or eight years old. Apart from having empty, soulless eyes, she looked exactly like Zhang Zhi.
Nanmen Jue froze, and in her mind came the smug voice of Yu Wanyan.
"So, aren't you impressed by my excellent skills? How could I possibly refuse to give you what you want?"
