Chapter 165 A Happy Ending

Finally, after several hours, Ding Yue gave birth to a nine-pound baby.

I had a C-section, delivered at 11:30 pm.

It was a boy. The head nurse was surprised when the baby was born. The little guy was chubby with a head of black hair. The moment he was delivered, the little guy even looked at her.

The director dared to say that this was the most special child she had ever encountered in her career.

When she was born via cesarean section, her eyes were open, and her big eyes even glanced at her.

If she didn't know that babies at this age don't have their own thoughts, she would have thought this little guy was trying to remember who delivered him.

The moment the baby was wheeled out of the delivery room, the head nurse picked her up and handed her to An'an.

"Congratulations to the father! It's a boy, weighing nine pounds. He was born at 11:30 am via C-section. Both mother and child are safe and sound." After saying this, the head nurse took the baby from him and put it into the trolley that the nurse behind her was pushing, and walked towards the ward.

"When will my wife come out?" An'an was still waiting for his wife at the door.

"It will probably take another two hours," the head nurse replied. She knew that the fathers usually waited outside the delivery room for the mothers, which was why she had let him hold the baby for a moment.

"An'an, wait for Yueyue, we're going back to the ward to take care of the child," Zhao Huanhuan and her mother-in-law quickly said to the head nurse.

“Okay!” An’an replied.

He felt numbness in his upper body. When the head nurse placed the wrapped-up baby in his arms, he only had one feeling: the boy glared at him, and he felt heavy and soft.

Because his head was wrapped up, he couldn't see the child's black hair, otherwise he would have been shocked.

When he looked at newborn babies on the web, most of them had very little hair or were bald, with wrinkles all over their faces, some even with forehead wrinkles, looking like little old men, but he felt that his child didn't seem to be like that.

Lin's father and Ding's father also went back to see the children.

After watching it, I went back to the delivery room and waited with An'an for Yueyue to come out.

After a cesarean section, you need to be stitched up, observed, and wait for the anesthesia to wear off. It can take at least two hours before you can come out of the operating room.

Knowing that everyone was safe and sound, the Ding couple smiled.

Zhao Huanhuan and her mother-in-law sat on either side of the crib, watching the child.

The little one seemed a bit tired; he glanced at them a few times and then fell asleep.

Following the head nurse's instructions, Zhao Huanhuan used a cotton swab dipped in warm water to moisten the child's lips, so that the child's lips would not crack when suddenly exposed to air after being born.

"No wonder it was so difficult to give birth. How did Yueyue raise a child weighing nine pounds to be so big?"

Looking at her child, Ding's mother said helplessly to Zhao Huanhuan in a low voice.

Zhao Huanhuan smiled and said, "Yes, it's fortunate that Yueyue has a large frame and is strong. If she were smaller, I don't even want to think about the consequences."

Ding's mother nodded in agreement, "Fortunately, medical technology is advanced now, so if you have a difficult childbirth, you can have a cesarean section."

She felt truly fortunate that her daughter was born in this era.

If this had happened in the time when I gave birth, I might not have been able to overcome this difficulty today.

The thought of the consequences made her heart pound.

Two hours later, Ding Yue was pushed back.

She noticed An'an's red eyes as he followed beside her, and gently squeezed his hand to reassure him.

An'an personally carried her from the stroller to the bed next to the crib and helped her cover herself with a blanket.

At this point, the whole family was relieved.

An'an and her two fathers looked after the children, while Zhao Huanhuan and Ding's mother went over to talk to Yueyue and asked her if her wound was hurting.

Ding Yue shook his head, "It seems the anesthetic for the wound hasn't worn off yet. The doctor said it won't start hurting until the anesthetic wears off in the middle of the night."

Zhao Huanhuan was a little worried, but this was also a painful period that mothers who had undergone cesarean sections had to go through.

Women who have a cesarean section within seven days need to get out of bed and move around more, as they cannot stay in bed all the time. This is more painful for them because of the pain from the incision and the need to move around more.

Unlike mothers who have given birth naturally and only need to rest, these few days are the best time for them to rest and recover because they have exerted a lot of effort.

These were the things she had learned from reading books over the past few days. She could only hold Ding Yue's hand with a pained expression and comfort her.

The hospital is close to the Ding family home, and Ding's mother and father have already gone home to prepare Yueyue's first postpartum porridge.

Zhao Huanhuan and An'an stayed here with Ding Yue and the child, while Lin Yuan drove home to let the worried elderly at home know that they were safe and sound, and told him to go back and rest, and bring them breakfast tomorrow morning.

Zhao Huanhuan booked a private delivery room with a bed for accompanying family members, so that Zhao Huanhuan and An'an could take turns resting and accompanying the baby and Yueyue.

Around 4 a.m., the anesthesia wore off completely, and Yueyue was woken up by the pain. An'an was with her, and could only hold her hand and silently comfort her in her pain.

Ding Yue's breathing still woke Zhao Huanhuan, who had just fallen asleep.

She couldn't sleep either, so she got up, looked at the child, and moistened the child's lips.

Since birth, this child has only drunk some water and slept; he doesn't cry or fuss.

Zhao Huanhuan was worried that there might be a problem, but the boy would cry a few times after he peed or defecated, which the doctor said was normal.

After Yueyue ate breakfast in the morning, she started breastfeeding the little one. The little one was very strong and learned to suckle after a few tries.

Fortunately, after changing the dressing on the afternoon of the second day, Ding Yue felt better. The wound was not so painful, and he started to walk around on the ground to exercise, and then go back to lie down.

After hearing that Ding Yue had given birth, relatives and friends began to visit her and her baby at the hospital.
