Chapter 8 Captain, could you arrange a marriage for my son?

Lin Yuan heard the captain give the order to leave, so he pretended to have just arrived, made his footsteps louder, and went to the door to knock.

"Come in!" the captain responded.

Lin Yuan pushed open the door and entered, just in time to see Bai Meilan walking to the door. Their eyes met, and Bai Meilan immediately smiled, "Lin Yuan is back. Did you get even more tanned while in the army?"

Lin Yuan smiled faintly, nodded, and then looked at the captain, calling him Uncle Tao.

The captain's eyes lit up when he saw Lin Yuan. "Hey, Lin Yuan, when did you get back?"

Lin Yuan smiled and said, "I came back last night."

As he spoke, he placed the two bottles of liquor he was carrying on the table. "Red Star Erguotou, I remember Uncle likes this."

"Haha, you little rascal, you even brought back a gift for your uncle?" The captain's smile widened as he saw the wine bottle, and he quickly invited Lin Yuan to sit down.

The captain paused for a moment, then patted him on the shoulder with satisfaction and said with a smile, "You truly are someone nurtured by the Party and the country; your awareness is truly high."

"Do you really want to do something?" the captain asked.

"Well, I'm free anyway," he said.

"If it's short-term, why don't you go with that group of educated youth to the south of the village to hoe the cornfield? You young people will have things to talk about together," the brigade leader said thoughtfully.

Lin Yuan nodded slightly, "Okay, I'll follow the brigade's arrangements."

"Okay, let's go, I'll take you to get your hoe." The captain said with a smile as he stood up and walked out.

"It's perfect timing for you to work together and see if you can find someone you like. Your parents have been nagging me about it several times this year, worried about when you'll get married. They'll be relieved if you do. Besides, all those educated youth are intellectuals, a perfect match for you. If you were to marry one of those illiterate blockheads in the village, I'd think it would be a waste for them!" The brigade leader said, giving Lin Yuan a knowing smile.

Lin Yuan: ......
