In the evening, Hao Qiang picked up Hu Doudou and took her to his home for dinner, where Bai Meilan was indeed making dumplings.
Of course, there was no meat in the dumplings; she made vegetarian dumplings with cabbage, carrots, tofu, and chives.
After Hu Doudou followed Hao Qiang into the Hao family courtyard, she subconsciously looked at the south room where Zhao Huanhuan had lived.
Hao Qiang noticed her looking in that direction and asked, "What are you looking at? That's the room Zhao Huanhuan used to live in."
Hu Doudou said "Oh," and then asked, "Can we go in and take a look?"
Hao Qiang looked at her suspiciously. "What's so interesting about an empty house? It's full of random stuff. If you want to see it, I'll take you there."
Hu Doudou nodded, and Hao Qiang led her inside to take a look. Seeing the messy state of the room, Hu Doudou suddenly felt a sense of pleasure.
As for why, she didn't know.
But she still wanted to know why Zhao Huanhuan moved out. Was it really because Zhao Huanhuan had nightmares, as people outside were saying?
"Hao Qiang, I heard that Zhao Huanhuan moved out because she kept having nightmares while living in this house?" Hu Doudou asked Hao Qiang, turning around.
Hao Qiang looked down into her eyes as she looked at him, and for some reason, he thought of the day he cornered Zhao Huanhuan, and the strange look in her eyes amidst her panic. After a moment of stunned silence, Hao Qiang turned his head away, glanced back into the room, and said, "Maybe that's how it is!"
"After my father died, he was placed on the kang (a heated brick bed) in this room for three days," Hao Qiang said casually.
Hu Doudou stared wide-eyed in disbelief.
Suddenly, the hatred and resentment she felt towards Zhao Huanhuan lessened.
My God, this is terrifying! Was there a dead person on the kang (heated brick bed) in this room? No wonder Zhao Huanhuan has nightmares every night!
When Hao Qiang saw Hu Doudou's bewildered expression, he suddenly felt that it was very similar to how Zhao Huanhuan looked when she first moved in. He suddenly turned around, closed the door, pressed Hu Doudou against the door, and kissed her.
Hu Doudou was stunned when he kissed her, and the next moment she felt a strange smell spread throughout her mouth.
She shoved Hao Qiang away, turned around, opened the door, and ran out.
She ran to the alley outside the gate, leaned against the wall and dry heaved, but the food she ate at noon had already been digested, so she couldn't vomit anything, only some saliva and foam!
Hao Qiang ran out after her and saw her retching. He was immediately annoyed, his face darkened, and he walked step by step to her side, looking at her coldly.
When Hu Doudou finally felt a little better and stood up straight, she turned around and saw him. Startled, she jumped back, "You..."
Hao Qiang's face darkened. "You're disgusted with me? You're dating me, but you won't let me kiss you?"
Hu Doudou was so frightened that she hid back a little, and shouted angrily, "That doesn't mean you can just kiss someone like that! That's indecent!"
Hao Qiang frowned and glared at her, "If I don't kiss my partner, am I supposed to kiss someone else?"
Hu Doudou roared angrily, "But don't you brush your teeth every day? They smell so bad!"
Hao Qiang frowned. "So, you feel disgusted because I don't brush my teeth, not because you dislike me?"
Hu Doudou roared angrily, "Otherwise what?"
"Come in with me and wait here!" After saying that, Hao Qiang pulled Hu Doudou into his house, settled Hu Doudou in the main room, and then quickly went to fetch water to brush his teeth.
As he poured the tooth powder, Hao Qiang muttered, "City people are such a hassle. Am I going to have to brush my teeth every time I see her from now on?"
Hu Doudou looked at him and wondered what he meant. Did he want to kiss her after brushing his teeth?
Thinking of that possibility, she quickly went to the water tank to scoop some water to rinse her mouth, and before Hao Qiang finished brushing his teeth, she ran to the kitchen to make dumplings with Bai Meilan.
She didn't want to kiss him anymore; he stank.

After dinner, Hao Qiang took Hu Doudou to the educated youth team.
When they reached a secluded spot, Zhao Qiang suddenly grabbed Hu Doudou and said, "Doudou, smell me, does it still stink?"
Hu Doudou didn't want to smell it at all, so she pushed him away, saying, "You're a strange person. You're not allowed to kiss me again before we get married."
Hao Qiang had no chance of listening to her. With a forceful pull, he dragged her to a big tree by the roadside and kissed her again.
Fortunately, this time, his breath didn't smell so bad; it even had a hint of orange and vinegar.
This kid seems to really like vinegar when he eats dumplings. He poured out half a bowl, and by the time he finished the dumplings, the vinegar was all gone.
Hu Doudou stared at the vinegar in his bowl the whole time she ate dumplings, and when she saw that it was really gone, her stomach felt sour and uncomfortable.
Hao Qiang finally got to kiss his girlfriend. Seeing that she didn't push him away anymore, he felt a little satisfied. When he let go of her, his gaze towards her softened considerably.
After being kissed, Hu Doudou didn't dare to look at him. She turned her head and continued walking towards the educated youth settlement, hoping that no one had seen her.
Deep down, she still didn't want to accept her marriage to Hao Qiang. She wanted to wait a year or two to see if she could annul the engagement, as she still preferred good-looking men.
She was afraid that if word got out in the village that she and Hao Qiang had kissed, she would have trouble finding a partner after breaking off their engagement.
If we could go back to the city, that would be even better, and these problems wouldn't exist.
But Hao Qiang didn't know what she was thinking. Seeing her walking quickly with her head down, he assumed she was shy. He quickened his pace and walked alongside her, then suddenly said, "Don't worry, I'll take responsibility for you after I kiss you. In the future, if anyone in the village dares to bully you, tell me and I'll stand up for you."
"Also, it would be best if we got married at the end of this year, my mother wants to have a grandson."
Seeing that Hu Doudou was walking faster, he quickened his pace as well. "Also, don't worry, I'll brush my teeth every time I come out to see you from now on. It's just that the tooth powder is a bit expensive, but the orange flavor smells pretty good."

The two of them didn't dare to go over, so they quietly turned onto another road and returned to the educated youth team. When they came back, they saw Hao Qiang's departing figure.
