Chapter 2 Wooden Bracelet

Bright red blood beads slowly dripped from Yan Sisi's fingertips under the pressure. The moment the blood beads touched the wooden bracelet, a faint green light flashed, and the red blood beads disappeared instantly.

Is this going to open up space?

Yan Sisi waited for a while and saw that the wooden bracelet didn't have any special reaction. The excitement she had just felt disappeared in an instant. Could it be that only the heroine could open this wooden bracelet?

She couldn't help but feel her heart tighten when she thought of this possibility. She simply couldn't accept that she couldn't open the space. Unwilling to give up, she enlarged the wound and continued to drip a lot of blood onto the wooden bracelet.

A long time passed, so long that Yan Sisi didn't know how much blood she had dripped. Suddenly, her eyes went dark and she found herself in an unfamiliar place.

Yan Sisi looked at everything unfamiliar in front of her with excitement. She didn't expect that she had really opened up the space. Does that mean that things in dreams can also be changed?

Yan Sisi suppressed her excitement and walked towards the ancient tree that attracted her full attention at first sight. The tree was half dead and half full of greenery. The most eye-catching thing was a green fruit hanging from the top of the tree. It was shaped like a gourd and its bottom was gray. She didn't know if it died due to lack of nutrition or if it was originally that color.

Yan Sisi turned her head to look at the milky white well not far away, then looked at the dry ancient tree beside her. She went back to the kitchen, took a gourd ladle, walked to the well, and poured five full scoops of water for the ancient tree.

When she looked up at the ancient tree, she seemed to see it shaking slightly. Yan Sisi rubbed her eyes and looked again, but the ancient tree was motionless. She must have been dazzled and saw it wrong.

After watering the garden, she finally looked around. She saw that the space was about the size of two houses. The only empty space was the well from which she had just drawn water and the old tree in the middle. There was no grass on the ground except for black fertile soil. The edges of the space were filled with a light white mist, making it difficult to see what was there.

Yan Sisi walked over curiously. Before she got close to the mist, she felt a transparent barrier blocking her. She patted the mist with her hands as if she was patting cold glass.

Unable to get over it, Yan Sisi could only go back to study the well, wondering if the water inside had any other uses.

When Yan Sisi lowered her head to look into the well, she placed her hands on the edge of the well consciously. A cold chill instantly spread throughout her body. Three words appeared on the jade stone at the edge of the well. Although she did not understand what the words were, her mind came to its effect: it turned out that this well was called Lingquan Well, and the water in it could accelerate the growth of animals and plants, and could also heal injuries and detoxify.

Yan Sisi stood up in surprise. Water can actually accelerate growth and heal injuries and detoxify. This can't be the space of immortals! Otherwise, how can there be such magical water? The space opened by the cousin in the book is only a 10-square-meter space according to the text description. It can only store items and people can't enter.

The one she opened had both ancient trees and magical spring water. Could it be that it varies from person to person?

Since the well is not ordinary, the ancient tree growing in the middle must not be simple either. Yan Sisi walked over and put her hand on the ancient tree. In an instant, a sentence appeared in her mind: Plants are needed.

There seemed to be seeds in the kitchen at home. As soon as this thought came to her mind, Yan Sisi left the space. She hurried to the kitchen, took out the corn seeds from the cupboard and returned to the space.

Seeds alone are useless. If the ancient tree needs plants, seeds must be planted. Just as Yan Sisi was about to plant the seeds, she saw the seeds in her palm shaking slowly.

Yan Sisi stopped thinking, and the seed stayed motionless in the palm of her hand again. What was going on?

She was just thinking about planting the seeds, but why did the seeds move? As soon as this thought came to her mind, the seeds shook even more violently than before. Could it be that she could control these seeds with her consciousness?

Yan Sisi tentatively imagined in her mind the seeds flying. After shaking in her hand, the seeds flew neatly into the air. She then wanted to plant the seeds in the soil, and the floating seeds rushed into the soil in unison, keeping a distance of half a meter between each seed.

Yan Sisi touched her head excitedly. Could she control them with her consciousness? This space was truly magical!

After the seeds were planted, Yan Sisi used her consciousness to control the water in the well to pour onto the seeds, and then observed the seeds to see if the spiritual spring water could promote the growth of plants.

After watching for a while, there was no movement.

Yan Sisi stood up in disappointment and didn't dare to scoop the spiritual spring water from the well to drink. She had originally planned to try the healing effects of the spiritual spring water herself, but it seemed to be a scam.

Yan Sisi felt a little dizzy as soon as she came out of the space. She looked down and saw the ground was covered with black mud that she had just stepped on. She quickly forced herself to find a broom and dustpan to sweep away the mud. She made a note in her heart to wash her shoes thoroughly next time she went out of the space, otherwise she would not know how to explain if her mother found out.

After cleaning up, she climbed onto the bed despite feeling dizzy, and fell asleep as soon as her head touched the cloth pillow.

Yan Sisi had a dreamless night and was woken up the next day by a rumbling stomach.

Yan Sisi walked out of the room in a daze, holding her hungry stomach and walked towards the kitchen. She saw Yan's mother in the kitchen and asked, "Mom, you're back?"

Seeing her daughter looking listless, Yan's mother quickly scooped a bowl of porridge and handed it to her: "Did you not have a hot meal last night? Come and have something to eat. I also bought a few fried dough sticks on the table."

Yan Sisi took the bowl and turned back to the table. She put the boiling white porridge on the table with a bang, picked up the chopsticks and began to stir it to speed up the cooling. She also blew a few gusts of cold air from time to time. Soon, the boiling white porridge was mostly cooled.

The warm white porridge slid down her throat into her stomach which had been hungry all night. A heat instantly spread from her stomach to her whole body, and Yan Sisi felt much more awake.

Yan Sisi was drinking porridge and eating fried dough sticks at the same time. The crispy fried dough sticks and the soft and glutinous porridge were really so comfortable. She looked towards the kitchen while eating: "Mom, how is my dad?"

Mother Yan quickly prepared breakfast in the kitchen, picked up the aluminum box and filled it with rice for Father Yan. Afraid that the daughter would be worried, she said in a normal tone, "Much better. The doctor said that he can come back after a few more days of observation if there is no problem."

Yan Sisi heaved a sigh of relief after hearing that, but she was still a little worried because she didn't see the person's heart. She drank the last mouthful of porridge in the bowl in one gulp and said to her mother who was leaving the kitchen, "Mom, are you going to bring food to Dad? I want to go too."

Mother Yan put the lunch box on the table and ignored the lady who was following her. She turned and walked towards her and her husband's room, coldly refusing, "Your injury hasn't healed yet, so just stay at home and rest."

Yan Sisi followed behind him without giving up and said, "Mom, I'm much better now, just let me go!"

Yan Sisi stood at the door, holding onto the door frame, watching her mother take out a cookie box from the cupboard and some money from it. She remembered that there should have been a lot of money in the box, but why did it seem like there was much less now? Could it be that all the money in the family was used to treat her and her father's illnesses?

Seeing that her mother put the money away and ignored her, Yan Sisi rolled her eyes and said in a weak voice, "Mom, I'm afraid what if those people from yesterday come again?"

Yan's mother had just put away the money box. After hearing what her daughter said, she felt a little worried. If that family forced their way in, it would be unsafe for her daughter to be alone at home.

Yan Sisi saw her mother pause and immediately felt that something was going to happen. She quickly turned around, picked up the lunch box on the table and walked out, asking as she walked, "Mom, which hospital is Dad in?"

Yan's mother quickly followed behind and locked the door, shouting nervously, "Don't run so fast, be careful."

After walking for almost half an hour, Yan Sisi finally saw the hospital gate. In her dream, her mother had kept it a secret since she fell into the water. She didn't know her father was injured until he came home. This time, she didn't know why her mother didn't hide it from her.

Yan Sisi looked at the familiar hospital in front of her and felt a little strange. The gate was made of iron railings with rust on them. Above the door were hung four red characters "People's Hospital". When she walked in, she saw a two-story tiled house with a wooden door. Some broken glass could be seen hanging on the window frames on the outer walls.

Yan Sisi smelled the disinfectant in the air, grabbed her mother's clothes tightly, followed her through the bustling crowd, climbed to the second floor, walked around for a while, and finally stood in front of a ward.

Yan Sisi, who was walking behind Yan's mother, saw her mother stop and asked, "Mom, are we here?"

While asking this question, Yan Sisi stretched her head and looked inside the room. She saw her father, Yan Aiguo, sitting on the bed at the back chatting with a fellow patient. Yan Sisi looked at her smiling father as if she hadn't seen him for a long time. She ran over and asked, "Dad, how come you got a head injury?"

"Hey, Miss, why are you here?" The smile on Yan's father's face froze immediately. He looked at Yan's mother who was following behind him and complained, "Didn't I tell you not to let the Miss know? She still has a head injury."

"Comrade Yan, you tried to hide the fact that you were injured so badly from me." Yan Sisi unhappily put the lunch box in her hand on the table beside her, staring straight at her father who was wrapped in bandages like her.

Facing his daughter's questioning, Father Yan chuckled twice and stiffly changed the subject, introducing the patient next to him: "Come, this is my daughter Sisi."

"My dear, call me Grandpa Gu."

Yan Sisi knew her father was trying to change the subject, so she didn't ask any more questions. She politely said to the gray-haired, energetic old man who looked only about fifty years old, "Hello, Grandpa Gu."

"Hey, Sisi, hello." Gu Sheng, who was pulled over to change the topic, looked at the well-behaved girl in front of him and praised her with a smile: "Xiaoyan, you are such a well-behaved daughter."

He speaks very softly, but I don't know if he has a partner. I'll ask Comrade Xiao Yan later.

"That's right, my daughter looks like me, how can she be bad?" Father Yan raised his eyebrows happily when he heard his daughter being praised, and complimented her back, "Your grandson is also good-looking."

Mother Yan opened the lunch box and handed it to Father Yan, interrupting their mutual flattery and saying, "Eat quickly, or it won't taste good if it gets cold."

"Uncle Gu, have you eaten?"

"I've eaten. My grandson brought it here early in the morning. I'm going out to digest the food. You two can chat." After saying this, Gu Sheng slowly walked out of the ward with his crutches.

Seeing that the old man next to her bed had left, Yan Sisi sat by the bed and watched her father eat. She asked in a soft voice, "Dad, how did someone put a sack on you? Did you call the police?"

Father Yan drank a mouthful of porridge and heard his daughter's question and said, "We have reported it. The police came to understand the situation."

He thought about it for a long time in the hospital but couldn't figure out who he had offended. There was actually someone who specifically framed him.

"Dad, tell me what happened that day, maybe we can find some clues." Yan Sisi asked with a frown. In her dream, she only knew that her father was beaten intentionally, and the murderer was never found in the end. This time, she must find the murderer who hurt her father.
