Chapter 5 Mission Completed

When Xiao Wang came to pick someone up, he searched for a long time before he saw Ling Yue sitting on the ground in a small corner.

"Comrade Lingyue, the commander asked me to pick you up. Comrade Zilin is already waiting."

Ling Yue quickly turned her eyes away from the book, nodded, put the book back, and left with Xiao Wang.

I couldn't read as fast today as I did yesterday because it was too noisy. It's winter, and these people love to brave the frost and go shopping. The doorway is buzzing with chatter all morning, and I can't make out what they're saying. After asking, I learned from the administrator that it's because the supply and marketing cooperative is across the street, so it's so noisy this morning.

It was the same place we met when we came back, just in another room.

"Comrade Ling Yue, please wait a moment. Comrade Qian Zilin is in a meeting now."

Ling Yue nodded. Xiao Wang poured her a glass of water and went out, leaving Ling Yue sitting here alone.

More than half an hour later, sparse footsteps were heard outside the door, and soon the door was pushed open.

Ling Yue stood up and saw Xiangzhong coming in with a man.

She knew Xiangzhong, and the other one was in her memory, but her memory was a little fuzzy. I guess it was because they didn't meet often before.

"Xiao Yueya?" Qian Zilin just realized that someone wanted to see him, but he didn't ask the name. He didn't expect that it was his good friend's daughter.

When Ling Yue heard this address, she was sure that this person was the one in the little girl's memory. This was the same person he called Ling Yue when they were in California.

"Hello, Uncle Qian."

"Okay, okay, where are your parents? Are they back? Where are they? Take me to see them."

Qian Zilin had just returned from an interview with Su Hua, and because of his research, he had not received any news from the outside world during this period.

Ling Yue lowered her eyes and took out a letter from the documents in her arms: "Uncle Qian, this is a letter from my parents."

Qian Zilin seemed to have thought of something, his smile became stiff, and he murmured: "I'm back now, why write a letter?"

But he still opened the letter tremblingly.

Brother Zilin, thank you for your letter!

When you read this letter now, I am sure that my wife and I have already passed away in our country. But you don't have to be too sad. It is a good thing for a scholar to die for his friend and to die for the construction of the motherland.

I know you must have already started the work of our dreams. I have always been looking forward to the day when domestic newspapers will bring good news. Unfortunately, I have no chance to see it, which is really a pity.

If my wife and I hadn't died this time, this information would have remained undisclosed. The motherland has fought for us for two years. That's enough. Ling Yue has had a photographic memory since childhood. She has the specific information. I hope we meet again in a hundred years, and you can tell me about the motherland's deeds.

The last words of a close friend, Ling Fengnan.

This was also the first time Ling Yue knew what was written in the letter. For a moment, there was no sound in the entire room.

Ling Yue looked at Qian Zilin, whose hands were shaking and he couldn't even hold the letter, and couldn't help but whispered, "Uncle Qian..."

I want to comfort you, but I don’t know how to say it.

For the little girl, this was her father's suicide note, but for Ling Yue, this was just a stranger. But even she, a stranger, couldn't help but tremble in her heart, let alone Qian Zilin, her close friend.

"I'm fine, just let me take it easy, just for a moment, just a moment."

As he spoke, Qian Zilin supported himself on the armrest of the sofa and sat down heavily, sobbing. He covered his cheeks tightly with his hands, as if this would prevent anyone from noticing.

After a while, Ling Yue sat on the sofa on the other side. After Qian Zilin calmed down, she comforted him, "Uncle Qian, my father and mother died for their dreams, and they died a worthy death. I hope you can sort yourself out as soon as possible and fulfill your and my parents' dreams."

Number 7: ......

Is this a comfort?

Well, Ling Yue felt that it was just a comfort.

Sure enough, the researcher's frequency resonated. After a while, Qian Zilin nodded and wiped the tears from his face: "I know. By the way, where is the information your father mentioned?"

Ling Yue secretly breathed a sigh of relief and handed him the two documents.

"The thinner one is what my father asked me to give you. The thicker one is because I noticed some errors in the data and corrected them. I was worried you wouldn't understand, so I re-examined it, so it's a bit thick."

Qian Zilin looked at Ling Yue in disbelief with his red eyes after Ling Yue finished speaking.

"You corrected it?"

"Yeah," Ling Yue nodded. This was very simple, but she didn't know why such a simple reasoning would lead to wrong data.

Qian Zilin took it and opened it. He first looked at what the little girl remembered. The reasoning was very reasonable and he didn't see any problems, but the specific data needed to be carefully calculated.

Then he opened the one that Ling Yue had corrected, and it was filled with densely packed reasoning formulas and pencil notes next to them. This copy of the material could be used as supplementary material for the textbook, it was very detailed.

Qian Zilin seemed to have forgotten the time. Xiangzhong still had a lot of things to do, so he just nodded to Lingyue and quietly left.

Ling Yue was a little bored waiting, and seeing that Qian Zilin had no time to take care of her, she followed Xiangzhong out.

"Why don't you wait for your Uncle Qian?" Xiangzhong asked.

Ling Yue shook her head. "This document will take a long time to digest. It would be a waste of time for me to wait. Uncle Zhou, are there any books here? I'll take a look and wait for him."

"Okay, I'll have someone take you there." As he said that, Xiangzhong asked his assistant to take Lingyue to a study room. It was usually not used and only contained some unimportant books.

But Ling Yue felt very happy because there were many more books here than in the library.

[Maker, if you don't have time to read them one by one, you can ask 007 to copy them first.]
