Chen Yanli's voice was magnetic and mellow, with a sense of laziness and ruffianism. It sounded like he was whispering in her ear, and Zhou Yunwan felt as if her ears were numb.
University offices of this era did not have partitions between each workstation like those in later generations. Everyone had their own private space, and if you didn't pay special attention, you basically had no idea what your colleagues were doing.
Most of today's office desks are made up of several large tables put together. They are open and clearly visible. At most, there are a few books piled on the table to block it, but it does not serve any shielding purpose at all.
As soon as Zhou Yunwan made a move, she met Hao Pingming's vague glance at her. Then she remembered that Hao Pingming was there, and her cheeks flushed. She said awkwardly: "You should wear it later. Didn't you say you still have work to finish?"
After saying that, Zhou Yunwan closed the glasses case, thinking that it would not be too late to put them on when they were alone in private.
Shen Yanli saw her concerns and immediately turned to look at Hao Pingming who was pretending to be calm and indifferent: "Teacher Hao, please give me the papers you haven't graded yet, and you can pack up and go home."
Hao Pingming's eyes lit up when he heard this. It would be great if he could get off work and go home early, but he soon thought of something and asked with a wry smile, "What about the meal..."
Shen Yanli replied without changing his expression: “You pick the place.”
Hao Pingming was instantly delighted when he got the answer he wanted, and flattered him with a smile: "Okay, our Professor Shen is very generous."
...
...
After saying that, he began to sort out the ungraded papers on the desk, stuffed them into Shen Yanli's hands, winked and whispered: "Hey, then I won't stay and be a light bulb. See you on Monday."
Afterwards, Hao Pingming quickly stuffed his belongings into his bag, and waved to Zhou Yunwan as he stood up and left: "See you next time if there's a chance."
Zhou Yunwan returned a polite smile and watched him leave in a hurry, not forgetting to close the door when he left.
After Hao Pingming left, they were the only two people left in the office.
Zhou Yunwan stood up and wanted to give him her seat so he could sit down and work, and then go home together when he was done. As soon as she left the seat, someone held her shoulders and pushed her back to her original position.
"It's okay, you sit down, I'll just sit in Hao Pingming's seat."
Zhou Yunwan thought about it and sat there without moving.
Shen Yanli stood behind her, staring at the back of her plump head for a few seconds, then leaned over to approach her again and said softly in her ear: "Didn't you say you wanted to see me wearing glasses? There's no one else now."
His chest was almost brushing against her back, and his hands were on either side of her, as if forming an encirclement. They were so close that they could smell each other's body fragrance, inseparable.
I don’t know if it was because when he entered the grove just now, he accidentally got the scent of trees on his body, which was fresh and cool, a little different from the usual smell, but still smelled good.
Zhou Yunwan couldn't help but secretly take two breaths, but when she tilted her head unconsciously, her red lips almost touched his neck.
She blinked twice and happened to meet the small protruding Adam's apple, which rolled up and down silently under her gaze.
Shen Yanli reminded in a hoarse voice: “Wanwan, this is in the office.”
Zhou Yunwan's eyelashes trembled slightly, and she refuted without confidence: "I didn't intend to do anything."
She didn't want to play any office play.
Zhou Yunwan coughed twice, as if to prove her "innocence". She turned her head and looked at the glasses case in her hand. She opened it with a click, took out the gold-rimmed glasses inside, spread open the legs of the glasses, and was about to put them on his face.
The woman's fair little face was slightly tilted up, with an indelible blush on her cheeks. Her slender white fingertips slowly approached him. Putting it on yourself was different from putting it on for others, as the perspective was different. She was afraid of poking his eyes and skin, so her movements became cautious.
Shen Yanli did not move or hide, and let her explore his face until the glasses were successfully placed on his tall nose.
Because he didn't wear them often, he felt uncomfortable for a moment and subconsciously closed his eyes to relax. His thick eyelashes and the frame of the glasses cast a shadow from below. When he opened his eyes again, his narrow black eyes seemed even deeper.
Zhou Yunwan turned around and stepped back a little so that she could admire him wearing glasses.
I have to say, he is good-looking and looks good in whatever he wears. Anything on him looks like a fashion item. This pair of glasses suits him perfectly.
Zhou Yunwan stared at him absentmindedly, unable to move her eyes away.
"How is it? Is it still suitable for me?" The man slowly adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses. His slender white fingers were thin and strong, with faint blue veins showing through, giving people a sense of abstinence.
Zhou Yunwan pursed her lips and murmured softly, "Not bad."
Shen Yanli raised his eyebrows, as if he was not satisfied with the answer, his black eyes stared into hers, and he said in a deep voice: “Just okay? Your eyes don’t say that.”
Hearing this, Zhou Yunwan's heart skipped a beat and she couldn't help swallowing.
He looks more than okay with glasses. It’s simply amazing!
He was so handsome that she wanted to pounce on him immediately, but now was his workplace, not a place where she could act unrestrained.
Zhou Yunwan suppressed her restlessness and urged, "Aren't you supposed to grade the papers? Finish quickly, we should go back."
As she said this, she stepped back again.
Shen Yanli narrowed his eyes, and before she could shrink back, he pinched the back of her neck, bringing them closer together. It seemed that he was being forceful, but in fact, he was not using any force at all. He was just kneading her intermittently, in an ambiguous and silent manner.
He was in front of Zhou Yunwan and there was a desk behind her, so she had no room to retreat.
He had no idea how difficult it would be to explain himself if someone saw him in his current position.
Even though it was the weekend and the students were on vacation, there might still be teachers grading papers in other offices. If they passed by and looked inside through the glass, Shen Yanli's reputation would be ruined.
“It seems that you really don’t like it. I won’t wear it in the future.” Shen Yanli said slowly, and was about to take off his glasses.
Zhou Yunwan quickly reached out to stop him, even though she knew he was teasing her on purpose. But even if it was him, he couldn't delay her from looking at the handsome guy with the abstinence glasses.
She frowned and muttered to herself: Don’t you just want to hear her praise him for being handsome? A scheming and stinky man.
Zhou Yunwan rolled her eyes and said sarcastically, "I like it. How could I not like it? I like it a lot."
Shen Yanli curled the corners of his lips slightly, his eyes under the glasses floating with a faint smile, and he bent down and kissed her lips: “Well, I know, no need to say it three times.”
