Chapter 24

Chapter 24

The next day, Song Shiyu made detailed arrangements and instructions for the company's important work in the next few days.

Assistant Xiaoxi asked worriedly three times, "Mr. Song, do you really not need to bring your assistant with you? Or why not take me with you? In case there's anything I need to run errands or take care of?"

Song Shiyu replied patiently: "No, I can do it alone. If there is any emergency, feel free to send me a message or email."

After arranging everything, he set off for the airport and flew to the city where Ji Zhiqi was.

He planned that after watching Ji Zhiqi's recording, he could go back to his hometown to visit his grandfather.

After a two-hour flight, the plane landed smoothly.

Song Shiyu followed the address Ji Zhiqi had sent him and went directly to the hotel arranged by the program team.

After putting away his simple luggage, he asked the front desk for Ji Zhiqi's room number and learned that Ji Zhiqi was currently in the hotel's dedicated practice room.

Song Shiyu took out a carefully wrapped gift box from his suitcase, which contained a gift he prepared for Ji Zhiqi - a trendy doll that was currently very popular, sold in limited quantities, and extremely difficult to get.

He remembered seeing Ji Zhiqi's airport Reuters photos before, and he had another model from this series hanging on his backpack.

In order to buy the style that Ji Zhiqi might like, he spent a lot of effort and finally bought it at a high price from a senior collector.

He took the gift and tiptoed out of the practice room.

Through the soundproof glass window, he saw Ji Zhiqi sitting behind the drum set, frowning slightly, listening attentively to the accompaniment in the headphones, his fingers tapping lightly on the drum from time to time, looking for rhythm and feeling.

The way he works seriously exudes a unique aura, sexy and charming.

Song Shiyu leaned against the wall and watched quietly for a long time, his heart softening.

Probably no one would dislike Ji Zhiqi like this.

When Ji Zhiqi finished practicing and took off his headphones to rest, Song Shiyu gently pushed open the door.

Hearing the noise, Ji Zhiqi raised his head.

The moment their eyes met, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes, which was then replaced by great surprise and tenderness.

He put down the drumstick in his hand, stood up, strode over, and without saying a word, hugged Song Shiyu tightly in his arms.

In an instant, even the air seemed to become sweet.

Song Shiyu was held in his arms, feeling the warmth of his chest and his strong heartbeat. He hugged him back with peace of mind, buried his face in the crook of his neck, and took a deep breath of his fresh and pleasant scent.

"I brought you a small gift." Song Shiyu raised his head from his arms and handed over the gift box in his hand.

Ji Zhiqi took it, opened the box, and when he saw the extremely hard-to-get limited edition doll, his eyes lit up and a genuine, beautiful smile spread across his face: "You always notice what I like."

This feeling of being cared for and cherished made his heart warm.

Song Shiyu reached out and gently lifted Ji Zhiqi's chin with his fingertips, his eyes teasing: "As long as it's something you like, I can find a way to give it to you with both hands."

Ji Zhiqi looked at his lips that were so close to him and shining with an alluring luster. His eyes darkened and he could no longer hold back. He lowered his head and kissed her fiercely.

This kiss was filled with longing and possessiveness, passionate and long.

Until the door of the lounge was carefully knocked, Xiaohua's awkward voice rang out outside the door: "Brother Qi, Mr. Song... um, the program team is here and waiting for you in the conference room."

Song Shiyu's face turned red instantly, and she wanted to push him away embarrassedly.

Ji Zhiqi tightened his arms and pressed his head against his shoulders, preventing others from seeing Song Shiyu's shy look. He turned his head to face the door, his voice sounding particularly low and sexy because of the kiss just now: "Got it, you go first, I'll be right there."

Ji Zhiqi let go of Xiaohua's hand only after her footsteps faded away.

Song Shiyu raised his head, his cheeks still flushed: "Go and get busy, I'll wait for you in the room."

"Okay." Ji Zhiqi pecked him on the lips again quickly before turning and leaving.

Song Shiyu touched his still hot cheeks, calmed his heartbeat, and then returned to Ji Zhiqi's room.

As he waited, perhaps because of the fatigue from the journey, he fell asleep in a daze leaning on the sofa.

After an unknown amount of time, he began to have difficulty breathing, as if someone was blocking his mouth.

He opened his eyes dazedly and was met with Ji Zhiqi's beautiful, smiling eyes that were so close to him.

And Ji Zhiqi was kissing him.

Song Shiyu woke up instantly, and after realizing what was happening, he began to enthusiastically respond to this kiss that was a bit of a sneak attack but full of love.

When he regained consciousness and opened his eyes, the sky outside the window had already darkened completely.

After arriving at noon, he went to find Ji Zhiqi without having time to eat. After that, he went through a high-intensity exercise, and his stomach was already growling with hunger.

He endured the soreness in his body and the discomfort in some unspeakable part, and got up with difficulty. He found that his body was clean and refreshed, and he had changed into clean pajamas. It seemed that Ji Zhiqi had helped him clean up afterwards.

On the bedside table, there was some still warm food packed in an insulated box.

The phone screen displayed a message from Ji Zhiqi: "Wake up and remember to eat. If you miss me, you can come to the practice room to find me."

Song Shiyu felt warm in his heart and finished his meal quickly and seriously.

He really missed him and wanted to see him immediately.

He came to the outside of the practice room again, and Ji Zhiqi was still inside.

He was still so focused, adjusting the position of the microphone and occasionally picking up the drumsticks to hit a few times. His serious profile was so eye-catching that it was impossible to take your eyes off him.

However, when Ji Zhiqi was trying to sing a high note, he suddenly started coughing violently without warning. He immediately turned his back, covered his mouth with his hands, and his shoulders were shaking from coughing.

Xiaohua's face changed and she quickly took out the medicine bottle and water from her bag and handed it over.

Song Shiyu's heart tightened, and he immediately pushed the door open and walked in quickly, his tone full of worry: "Ji Zhiqi, what's wrong with you? Are you feeling unwell?"

Ji Zhiqi took the cup of water and swallowed the medicine. He took a few deep breaths to calm his breathing, then turned around and put on a soothing, very beautiful smile on his face: "It's okay, it's just that the cold I caught last time may not have fully recovered. I've been practicing my voice a little too much these days."

He spoke in a relaxed tone, as if it was just a minor issue. "Don't be so nervous. Every professional singer will encounter this situation more or less. It's normal."

Song Shiyu's brows didn't relax, but frowned even tighter: "It's been a long time, why haven't you recovered yet? Should we go to the hospital for a thorough checkup?"

Ji Zhiqi reached out and gently smoothed his furrowed brow with his fingertips, his voice gentle, "Really, don't worry. I had a severe case of pneumonia when I was a child, and ever since then, my constitution has been a bit unusual. Whether it's a cold or other minor ailments, my recovery period is longer than that of the average person. It's an old problem, and I'm aware of it."

Xiaohua, who was standing aside, watched Ji Zhiqi pretending to be relaxed and comforting Song Shiyu. Her nose felt sore and her eyes couldn't help but turn slightly red.

She knew that Brother Qi was now racing against time, but he had to hide his illness so as not to worry his lover.

She lowered her head silently and quietly left the practice room, leaving the two of them alone.

Ji Zhiqi took Song Shiyu's hand, asked him to sit on the stool in front of the drum set, and then put the drumstick into his hand.

"Come, I'll teach you." He stood behind Song Shiyu, almost hugging him, and taught him the correct gestures and force techniques step by step.

Song Shiyu studied very seriously and temporarily suppressed his worries.

Ji Zhiqi was very patient and demonstrated and explained over and over again. Occasionally he couldn't help coughing, but he forced himself to hold it back, with only his Adam's apple rolling unnaturally a few times.

After spending nearly three hours, Song Shiyu finally learned a short and simple rhythm with some difficulty.

He was as excited as a little kid. He immediately took out his mobile phone, recorded a short video of himself playing the drums, and proudly posted it in the small group to show off.

Zhou Yue quickly replied: "Instead of fighting, why not think about how to sleep with Ji Zhiqi?"

Song Shiyu raised his eyebrows, and with a hint of mischief in his heart, he calmly replied with two words: "Asleep."

Zhou Yue: “?”

Bai Siang also said, "What the hell? Is this true? Wait, you suddenly started learning to play the drums, aren't you learning it just for your Ji Zhiqi?"

Song Shiyu continued to calmly drop the bombshell: "Ji Zhiqi taught me personally, step by step."

Bai Siang: "?"

Zhou Yue: @Bai Siang, come back now.

The next second: Bai Siang has left the group.
