Chapter 52

Chapter 52

Song Shiyu felt dizzy and when he opened his eyes again, he found himself back in the familiar apartment.

He looked at his hands in disbelief, his fingertips trembling slightly - it was real, he was really back.

The relief of surviving the disaster was quickly replaced by a heavy feeling of gratitude.

It was the judge who reversed life and death and gave him a chance to start over.

But this favor was too great, and he didn't know how to repay it.

"UU," he said, his voice a little dry. "The Judge forced open that door for me, exhausting a thousand years of cultivation... Will he be severely punished for this?"

UU's small figure floated in the air, her always bright eyes now dimmed, her hands drooping limply. "Yes. Without the protection of your cultivation, the punishment in the underworld will be a thousand times more painful... But all this is voluntary, Judge. After all, you were indeed implicated back then..."

Song Shiyu's heart tightened, and he sighed silently: "Is there no way to help him, or save him?"

"Yes! It's me!" UU perked up instantly, her chest puffed out. "The desires I absorb can assist the Judge in his cultivation! Every Judge has many guiding spirits under him. We complement the Judge. Therefore, we are very important to him!"

She then waved her hand again, her tone more relaxed: "But you don't have to worry too much. Although the prison warden looks cold, he actually... won't really do anything to the judge."

Song Shiyu looked at UU and suddenly thought of something: "So, how are you collecting the 'Seven Thoughts' now?"

"It's just the last thought left - 'love thought'." UU rubbed her hands together and looked at Song Shiyu eagerly, her intentions were obvious.

Song Shiyu understood immediately.

That last thought came from the love between him and Ji Zhiqi.

But he just turned his head away and lowered his voice: "I... don't want to see him in the short term."

"I knew you were a bad guy!" UU rushed over angrily, grabbed Song Shiyu's collar with her little hands and shook him back and forth, her little face puffed up like a bun.

Song Shiyu let her make a fuss, with a bitter smile on his lips.

He really wasn't ready to meet Ji Zhiqi yet.

As soon as he closed his eyes, those scenes would emerge: Ji Zhiqi's pale face, those heart-wrenching words, and the time when he hugged another woman and announced their engagement... Each one was like a blunt knife cutting his flesh, and the pain was so severe that he couldn't breathe.

He was afraid that once they met, he would not be able to control his heart and would easily forgive the person who bore everything alone but pushed him away.

In that case, it’s better not to meet.

Letting Ji Zhiqi experience the feeling of missing someone but not being able to meet them is his small revenge.

After rubbing UU's angry little face, Song Shiyu's mood brightened a little.

He picked up his phone and saw that the entry about Ji Zhiqi fainting and being seriously ill at the concert was still on the hot search, but there was no scene of him rushing onto the stage in any of the reports - presumably the judge had tampered with it and erased that episode.

The latest news shows that Ji Zhiqi has been hospitalized for treatment and his condition is stable.

All this seemed like an absurd yet vivid dream, and the feeling of nothingness as his body gradually dissipated still made him feel dazed.

He decided to leave here and go abroad temporarily.

When the pain in my heart is no longer so severe, I might consider coming back.

UU naturally had no choice but to follow him.

After all, the love between Song Shi and He Ji Zhiqi was the purest and most tenacious love she had ever seen, and the power it contained far exceeded that of any other pair of lovers.

In order to complete the task, she had no choice but to accompany Song Shiyu and travel far away.

In the following days, UU kept nagging in Song Shiyu's ear every day, urging him to return to Ji Zhiqi as soon as possible so that she could absorb all the love thoughts and complete her merit.

Song Shiyu turned a deaf ear to it and resolutely boarded the flight for a long journey.

He said goodbye to his grandfather and parents one by one.

The whole family could see that something was wrong with him, but they all tacitly agreed not to point it out.

Ruan Ning, in particular, felt so heartbroken when she saw her son trying to pretend to be calm.

The domestic company's business fell back on Ruan Ning's shoulders, and Song Shiyu was no longer seen in the company.

Bai Siang was with him on the plane back to China.

Surprisingly, Zhou Yue did not come to pick him up at the airport this time.

When the two returned to the villa, Zhou Yue had just come out of the bathroom after taking a shower, with water still dripping from the ends of his hair.

His gaze passed over Song Shiyu and fixed directly on Bai Siang. His tone was indistinguishable from his joy or anger: "Are you willing to come back?"

Bai Siang threw the suitcase aside, slumped down on the sofa like a lord, and unceremoniously crossed his legs on the coffee table: "What do you care about me? I can come back whenever I want."

Zhou Yue wiped his hair and sat down on the sofa opposite. He ignored him and turned to look at Song Shiyu, taking a puff of the cigarette between his fingers: "Ji Zhiqi is engaged, what's going on?"

Song Shiyu pulled the corner of his mouth, revealing a trace of smile: "You should ask him, I don't know."

"You guys broke up?" Zhou Yue raised his eyebrows.

"Yeah." Song Shiyu nodded expressionlessly, as if he was talking about something that had nothing to do with him.

Bai Siang, who was chewing potato chips on the side, shook his head and let out an ambiguous sigh when he heard this.

Zhou Yue narrowed his eyes slightly, as if he was weighing something. After a while, he finally said, "His father is Ji Wei?"

"Yes. But if you touch Ji Wei, you will help Ji Zhiqi instead." Song Shiyu reminded.

Zhou Yue slowly exhaled a smoke ring and snorted softly, "Then I'll just destroy Ji Zhiqi."

Song Shiyu's eyes suddenly swept towards him, with an unquestionable warning: "Don't touch him. I will handle our affairs myself."

Zhou Yue's face finally revealed a hint of mockery: "Come on, I'm just kidding. If I really mess with him, won't you fight me to the death?"

He was furious when he saw Song Shiyu trying so hard to hold on.

Song Shiyu had never cared so much about anyone since he was a child. He finally showed his true love to someone, but was hurt so deeply. He wanted to make Ji Zhiqi pay the price immediately.

At this time, Bai Siang picked up the wagging tail of Little Q and teased him, "Little Q, you've suffered a lot following your master, haven't you?"

"Woof woof!" Little Q was in good spirits and barked happily twice.

In the next few days, Song Shiyu and Zhou Yue went to the company as usual, while Bai Siang stayed at home to walk the dog and play games.

Since Bai Siang came back, all the beautiful women around Zhou Yue disappeared instantly.

The atmosphere between the two became very subtle, as if they were playing a game where whoever spoke first would lose. They were both waiting for each other, but neither of them was willing to bow their head first.
