The continuous questions made Cheng Maixiang unable to cope with it, and she quickly looked towards Lei Tianfeng.
Lei Tianfeng quickly said, "We can talk about Cheng Maixiang's situation later when we have time."
Cheng Maixiang fled down the podium with her book in her arms, but the gazes from all directions still made her feel uncomfortable.
Finally, everyone finished introducing themselves. Lei Tianfeng said with a smile, "Classmates, now that you have introduced yourself and know each other, let's elect class leaders."
As he spoke, he picked up the chalk and wrote down positions such as squad leader, deputy squad leader, league secretary, student leader, life committee member, literature and art committee member, and sports committee member on the blackboard.
“You can nominate yourself or be nominated, and then vote by raising your hands.”
Since the head teacher said so, many students were eager to try. Many of them went on stage to recommend themselves and gave campaign speeches. However, they did not prepare much and their speeches were basically the same. They just talked about their own experiences and strengths, and then expressed their determination to serve their classmates well.
Cheng Maixiang sat in her seat and lost interest after listening to only a few sentences. She simply flipped through the new book she had received and read it page by page.
"Student Cheng Maixiang, why don't you run for election?"
A timid voice sounded beside me.
Cheng Maixiang turned her head and saw Lu Chengcheng beside her with a red face, speaking cautiously.
Cheng Maixiang smiled and said, "I have to go home every day and take care of my husband. I don't have that much time to spend on class affairs. Let more capable students run for election."
When Lu Chengcheng heard Cheng Maixiang say this, he felt like he had done something stupid and said embarrassedly, "I'm sorry, I'm nosy."
Cheng Maixiang found that Lu Chengcheng's attitude towards her was very strange. He wanted to talk to her more, but seemed afraid of saying something wrong and making her unhappy.
Cheng Maixiang simply put down the book and looked at her with a smile, "Which position do you find interesting? You can go up and try it out."
Lu Chengcheng quickly shook his head, "I, I can't do that. Every one of them is so amazing. I'm far behind."
"Anyone who can get into the provincial university is not bad. You must have your own strengths, but you just don't dare to show them in front of everyone."
Cheng Maixiang encouraged her with a smile. Seeing her eyes gradually light up, she lost no time in suggesting, "How about you go up and try too? I'll cheer you on."
Lu Chengcheng encouraged herself for a long time, but finally shook her head in frustration. She looked at Cheng Maixiang cautiously, as if she was afraid that she would be disappointed in her. "Am I really useless?"
"Of course not, you're just introverted. You should talk to your classmates more often in the future."
A person's character is not so easy to change, otherwise why would our ancestors leave behind the saying "It is easy to change the country but difficult to change one's nature".
Lu Chengcheng was obviously relieved when he heard her say that.
Cheng Maixiang shook her head secretly. Lu Chengcheng cared too much about what others thought of her. People like her liked to suppress themselves to please others and lived too hard.
Finally, when it came to the time to vote, the students decided on the class leaders based on the voices of the few with the highest support. The class monitor was a man in his late twenties who had spent more than a decade as an educated youth in the countryside. The deputy class monitor and the league secretary were also in their twenties. However, the cultural and arts committee member and the sports committee member were two recent high school graduates.
However, what Cheng Maixiang did not expect was that even though she had tried her best to keep a low profile and wanted to bury herself in the ground, her classmates still did not let her go and made her the bully in the class.
There's no other way. After all, she's the provincial champion in liberal arts. No one else is more suitable to be the university president than her.
The head teacher asked the students who were elected as class leaders to speak on stage one by one. Cheng Maixiang had no choice but to say a few words along with the other class leaders. However, she didn't want to be unconventional and attract the attention of her classmates, so she basically copied the speeches of other class leaders.
After the election of class leaders, the head teacher announced the course schedule for this semester. There are basically not many professional courses in the first and second years of college. Most of them are basic courses, which are often taken together by several classes or even the same department.
After a busy morning, it was time for lunch. Cheng Maixiang invited Lu Chengcheng to go to the cafeteria for lunch. Lu Chengcheng was surprised and happy.
The cafeteria was naturally packed, and the two were at the end of the line when they suddenly heard someone in front of them shout, "Maizi, over here."
Cheng Maixiang took a look and saw Ruan Peiling standing at the front of the line, waving at her desperately, asking her to come over there.
Cheng Maixiang smiled and shook her head. Ruan Peiling had no choice but to run to her with the lunch box.
"Maizi, I took some time this morning to write my campaign speech for the Student Union. If you have time, could you please take a look at it and see if there's anything I need to revise?"
"I'll show you after dinner."
When Lu Chengcheng heard that Ruan Peiling was going to run for a position in the Student Union, she looked at her with admiration and seemed to want to say something, but she swallowed it before it came to her lips.
The three of them finished their dishes and found an empty seat to sit down. Ruan Peiling peeked into Cheng Maixiang's lunch box and said enviously, "Maizi, there's so much meat in your dish. Humph, even the chefs in the cafeteria give more to the pretty students and less to those of us who are ugly."
Seeing her deliberately pouting and complaining, Cheng Maixiang couldn't help but pat her lightly, "Drama Queen, what's missing in your lunch box? This potato stew with meat clearly has more than anyone else's, and the chef is not blind. Do you look worse than anyone else?"
Ruan Peiling immediately became proud again and waved her hands over her body, "That's right, Maizi, you are good-looking, and I am not bad either. Although I can't say that I am so beautiful that I can make fish sink to the bottom of the water, geese drop to the ground, and the moon hide in shame. But I am also beautiful as a flower. Master must be able to see it."
