We were busy until 12:30 in the morning, when most of the customers in the store had left.
Everyone in the store was exhausted and sat there panting. Cheng Maixiang smiled and said, "Thank you all for your hard work. My eldest sister prepared lunch for everyone. Let's sit down first. After lunch, we still have a busy afternoon. Xiaoyan, go find those students who distributed flyers and let's eat together."
Lin Qingwan set up two tables as soon as she entered the yard and brought the cooked food to the table. The dishes were complete, including fish and meat, and it was very rich.
The weather was too hot, and Lin Qingwan originally planned to prepare porridge, but Cheng Maixiang refused. She bought more than 20 bottles of drinks in advance and placed them on the table.
Sure enough, everyone was tired after a morning of work and didn't want to drink the hot porridge at all. When they saw the cold and refreshing drinks on the table, they opened them and started drinking them.
"Is the food enough? If not, I'll make more." Lin Qingwan asked with a smile.
"Enough, enough, we can't even finish this." Everyone said in unison.
Not long after the meal, customers came into the store one after another and everyone started to get busy again.
Cheng Maixiang waved Fang Xiaoyan closer to her and whispered, "Put the first prize ticket quietly into the lottery box."
In the morning, Cheng Maixiang didn't even put the special prize and the first prize in, for fear that they would be taken away by others as soon as the event opened in the morning. The event would last for a whole day, so what else could she use to attract people?
It's already noon. If I win the lottery, I can publicize it and create a gimmick to attract more customers.
Not long after, a customer won a radio. It happened that the customer had only bought two pieces of clothing and spent a dozen yuan, but he got a radio worth more than fifty yuan for free, which immediately caused a sensation among the people on the whole street.
After drawing prizes for the whole morning, most people won third and fourth prizes. Later, a few people finally won second prizes, but the first and special prizes were nowhere to be seen. Many people speculated that it was just a joke and no one would win them.
But this time, everyone believed it. Since the first prize had appeared, the special prize must be real as well.
"Hurry up, hurry up, go buy some clothes. If you buy some clothes, you can enter a lottery."
"Yeah, I heard someone only spent a dozen dollars and won a radio worth more than fifty dollars. That's really good luck."
"Then let's go in and try. Who knows, we might get lucky. Summer is coming soon, and I want to buy a dress too. Let's buy it in this store."
Customers poured into the store in waves, and several people were so busy that they had no time to rest. Lu Chengcheng was also constantly collecting money and making orders.
"Ah, I won the prize, I won the prize." A man outside the store shouted.
Someone had just won the first prize, and when they heard someone shouting with joy, many people felt nervous, thinking that the special prize had been taken away. They rushed out and saw the man holding a box of Hong Kong City lotus seed paste dim sum, dancing with excitement.
Although it was not the special prize, he was still very happy. After all, these snacks were rare in the market. If he won this, his wife would reward him well when he got home.
Everyone then returned to the store with peace of mind and continued shopping for clothes.
Not long after, Fang Xiaoyan suddenly ran over and said, "Sister Maizi, that pink dress is gone."
Cheng Maixiang asked in surprise: "Have you checked the warehouse?"
"I checked with Sister Lin, and there is indeed nothing left in the warehouse." Fang Xiaoyan was very worried. She felt a little regretful. When she first came to the provincial capital, she should have brought fewer things and more clothes. Now all the clothes were sold out. What should she do if the customers got angry?
Coincidentally, a girl had chosen the only pink dress. As she was walking out of the fitting room, Cheng Maixiang clapped her hands, pointed at the dress she was wearing, and said loudly, "Dear customers, we no longer have this dress in stock. The one you're wearing is the last one. If you've chosen something, hurry up, or the other clothes will probably sell out too."
Cheng Maixiang was deliberately creating a sense of urgency, which is a hunger marketing method commonly used in later generations. Many hesitant people will make up their minds to buy something when they hear that the thing they like is almost sold out.
Sure enough, when the girl heard that this was the last piece, she didn't even take a good look at herself in the dressing mirror and went to pay for the skirt. The other customers were also afraid that the clothes they liked would be sold out, so they hurried over to pay the bill.
She was busy until almost four o'clock in the afternoon. When Cheng Maixiang saw a customer who bought more than one hundred yuan was going to draw a lottery, she quietly put the grand prize ticket in. Sure enough, the customer won the grand prize.
The winner of the grand prize was a woman in her thirties. She bought the clothes for her daughter who was in high school. She had come here purely to buy clothes, but she didn't expect to win a bicycle. She immediately burst into laughter.
Cheng Maixiang asked Fang Xiaoyan to push the bicycle over. Many onlookers were excited. Cheng Maixiang smiled and suggested, "Come on, let's applaud this guest and congratulate her for such great luck."
Everyone present applauded.
The woman smiled so much that her mouth almost split to her ears, and she bowed to everyone, "Thank you everyone."
As he said this, he clipped the paper bag on the back seat of his bicycle, got on and rode away.
The grand prize had been drawn, and many customers who came for this prize lost hope and left the clothing store one after another. The store suddenly felt a lot quieter.
However, there were still many people who wanted to buy clothes, and several people were busy until 5:30 in the afternoon, when the store finally became completely quiet.
Several people sat down on the sofa, collapsed on it out of exhaustion, unwilling to say a word.
