"What are you looking at?"
Seeing Ye Yun stop where she was, Gu Yingying was puzzled and followed her gaze towards the direction of the stinky ditch.
She only saw an unfamiliar man wandering by the stinky ditch, and without thinking much, she pulled Ye Yun and continued to walk forward, with a hint of coquettishness in her voice:
"Come on, you said you would give me a kitten if I made you happy."
Her voice was clear and beautiful, and was particularly penetrating in the quiet winter day, causing the man near the stinking ditch to hear the noise and look in their direction.
At a distance of about ten meters, the winter fog was thick and Ye Yun couldn't see the man's expression.
But the man walked towards them step by step, stepping on the snow mixed with the mud.
He wore a cotton hat that covered his ears, a large black scarf, and black-framed glasses. His exposed cheeks were red from the cold, and his hands were folded into his pockets, making one feel how cold he was.
His breath spread over the lenses, blurring them, then quickly dissipated.
When Gu Yingying saw the man walking straight towards her and Ye Yun, she was so frightened that her whole body tensed up and she became alert and defensive.
"What are you doing!"
She pulled Ye Yun back two steps, exposing them to the crowd's sight.
The man was also frightened by her attitude, and quickly pulled out his hand from his sleeve, waving it anxiously:
"Girls, don't get me wrong, I just came to ask you something."
Gu Yingying would not easily believe him. Her upbringing made her alert when she needed to. She pointed at the man and shouted, "Just stand there and talk. Don't come near us!"
“Okay, okay…”
The man seemed to be afraid of scaring Gu Yingying, so he stood where he was, not daring to take another step forward.
Seeing that he was cooperating, Gu Yingying slowed down her tone and said, "Go ahead, what do you want to ask us?"
The man smiled sheepishly.
Then he looked at Ye Yun, his tone a little stiff: "I recognize you, you are the director of the nearby Blue Sky Garment Factory, right?"
Ye Yun said calmly: "Yeah."
Having witnessed the other person abandoning the kitten and throwing it into the stinky ditch last night, she felt indescribable disgust for this person from the bottom of her heart.
Unfortunately, in this world, animals are cheap and she cannot judge others with her own thoughts.
Seeing that the man was actually talking to Ye Yun, Gu Yingying looked at Ye Yun with suspicion, "Do you know this man?"
Ye Yun shook her head.
The man quickly shook his head and pulled the corners of his mouth, with a forced smile: "No, no, I don't have the chance to meet Director Ye. I just want to ask Director Ye, did you pick up anything near this stinky ditch last night, or did anyone in your factory pick up anything?"
Ye Yun snorted, her voice a little cold: "Did you lose something?"
The man's eyes looked a little dim.
He was silent for two or three seconds before he said somewhat embarrassedly, "To be honest, I threw a bag of stuff here last night."
"What?"
The man was speechless, "This..."
"If it's something you threw away, why do you want to pick it up again?" Seeing his hesitation, Ye Yun interrupted him and sneered sarcastically, "Could it be that the bag you use to carry things is very precious, and the things are lost, so why do you want to pick up a rag bag?"
The man was dumbfounded when he heard this.
He quickly realized what was happening, and his expression became anxious: "Director Ye said that you picked up that litter of kittens?"
Ye Yun's face was grim and she didn't answer.
Gu Yingying heard something and opened her mouth in surprise. She looked at Ye Yun, then at the man. Suddenly she understood what was going on and her little face was suddenly filled with anger.
"You're so good! It was you who threw the kitten into the stinky ditch. You have such a vicious heart!"
She rolled up her sleeves and rushed towards the man like a firecracker.
Ye Yun grabbed her collar.
Gu Yingying was grabbed, waving her fists, baring her teeth and claws, and uttering helpless rage in the direction of the man:
"You have no conscience! You are irresponsible! You are a bastard!"
I don't know what touched the man, his face turned slightly pale, and he looked a little helpless.
Gu Yingying was still cursing, furious: "You just threw them away, and you threw them into the stinky ditch. It's winter, and they are still so young. You don't want to leave them any chance to survive!"
"I curse you to be reincarnated as a cat or dog in your next life, and to be thrown into a stinking ditch by your mother as soon as you are born!"
Ye Yun: "..."
When Gu Yingying had scolded enough, she threw Gu Yingying behind her and asked her to be quiet for a while.
Gu Yingying was not the kind of person who would listen and be sensible. Just as she was about to curse, Ye Yun said calmly, "Do you still want it, Kitty?"
Instantly, Gu Yingying shut up.
She felt uncomfortable and glared at the man fiercely. She turned around, gritted her teeth, and cursed with her head down in anger.
The man's face was already red from the cold, and now he looked even more like a cooked shrimp after being scolded by her.
With an embarrassed look on his face and anxious eyes looking at Ye Yun, he rubbed his hands back and forth, wanting to say something but stopping himself, as if he had something to say to Ye Yun.
Ye Yun replied sarcastically: "Could it be that you really want to take the bag back?"
“No, no, no.” The man immediately shook his head and laughed dryly, “Since the kitten was picked up by Director Ye, I feel relieved.”
Ye Yun couldn't help but sneer inwardly.
"Why are you pretending?" She kept smiling, but her eyes were particularly sharp. "I was walking behind you when you abandoned the kittens yesterday. I saw it very clearly. After you threw them away, you looked like you had thrown away a hot potato and left very quickly. I didn't see you showing any sympathy at that time. Are you feeling guilty now?"
